Glenbeag Cottage is a lovely, bright 4* family holiday home in the magical west highland coastal village of Glenelg, overlooking the Sound of Sleat to the Isle of Skye. This self catering cottage is an ideal location for wildlife, beach, water or hill based holidays, as relaxed or active as you wish to be. The cottage is near the renowned Glenelg Inn and a minutes walk from the village shop and the seashore. It is in a stunning area that includes the site of Gavin Maxwell’s ‘Camusfearna’ at Sandaig with its white coral beaches. Glenbeag has some of the best preserved Iron Age brochs. Close by are Munros including Beinn Sgritheall and the Five Sisters of Kintail. And you may still ‘sail over the sea to Skye’ on the traditional Glenelg ferry crossing at Kylerhea.

Wunderbarer Aufenthalt in den Highlands

Wir haben eine schöne Woche in Glenelg verbracht! Glenbeag Cottage hatte alles für einen perfekten Aufenthalt! Glenelg hat so viel Charme und ist eine tolle Ausgangslage für Wanderungen in die nähere Umgebung oder Ausflüge nach Skye (wir haben die Fähre geliebt). Es gibt einen sehr gut ausgestatteten Shop im Ort, wo man alles notwendige und mehr bekommt! Der Pub nebenan war einen allabendlichen Besuch wert! Auch bei Regentagen bietet das Cottage einen wunderbaren Platz! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und würden gerne wieder kommen!

Amazing Cottage

Pleasant stay at the cottage with loch so close by. Had a wonderful time and lots of memories to take back. Looking forward for the next visit soon. Even on a rainy day(where we could not go out as planned) we enjoyed staying at the cottage, provided lots of board games, Music and Film collection. Amazing place to stay with nearby attractions.

Mooi en comfortabel huisje. Alles wat nodig was en meer was aanwezig. Staat inderdaad pal naast de Inn. Waar je lekker kan eten. En inderdaad van te voren reserveren. Zou erbij zeggen graag in de pub. Is erg gezrllig soms kom je anders in en zaaltje ernaast. Is ook goed maar de Inn is erg oud en mooi. Jammer is dat je maar en klein stukje van het water ziet. De Inn staat ervoor. Bank en stoelen comfortabel. Wij hadden storm Froris. Dus 26 uur geen elektrische tijd. Alles is electrisch. Gelukkig openhaard dus hadden wij het warm. De Inn was gereserveerd maar zegde af. Alleen voor hotelgasten hadden ze eten. Nu eten wij altijd buiten de deur met vakanties. Dus en probleem. Winkeltje ook dicht. Had alleen wat lekkere kaasjes en worstjes en 1 blik soep. Die opgewarmd in de openhaard. Had powerbanks bij ons dus konden alles opladen. En zaklampen enz.

Das Cottage liegt in der Nähe einer Fähre zur Isle of Skye. Es hat einen schönen Garten und liegt sehr ruhig, dennoch ist in Laufdistanz ein Pub. Es ist wunderbar augestattet. Sehr zu empfehlen

Nous avons été enchantés de notre séjour à Glenbeag Cottage à Glenelg. Tout était parfait. Une très jolie maison avec une très belle décoration, un très joli village et des paysages superbes. Un environnement très calme. Nous avons beaucoup aimé le petit ferry pour rejoindre l'Ile de Skye. Le pub à côté de la maison = top, on ne peut pas faire plus près, et on a très bien mangé. En mots : parfait.

The cottage is ideally situated close to the shop and the pub (and no, the close proximity to the latter has no impact, noise etc.). Can't fault the way it has been equipped, everything you could need is there and someone put real thought into this.

Wonderfully wild, warm and well worth it!

Lovely property, good size and immaculately maintained. Very well stocked with essentials for an informative and comfortable stay. In the heart of a fabulous area for wildlife, scenery and historical sites. Next door to a cosy pub, with a lovely atmosphere and great food. Easy access to Skye. Definitely recommend as a place to get away from the hectic daily grind whilst still enjoying all the comforts of home.

Spent a week in Glenelg in this very well appointed cottage. Cosy and comfortable with everything you could want including 2 bikes. Location is perfect next door to local Inn which serves excellent food, right in the heart of the village and a 2 minute walk to local shop. Would highly recommend.

Great Cottage In Glenelg

What a lovely cottage that has everything for a comfortable stay. We were given perfect directions to the cottage & there are lots of maps & books about the local area. Glenelg is a little pretty waters edge village with lots of view points to gaze out from, my favourite place was the at the Glenelg Ferry Station where there is a Coffee shop, the coffee & homemade cakes are delicious. There is a great lookout point across to Skye, we saw lots of cheeky seals & two white tailed eagles there…… that completely made the holiday. Lovely quiet cottage with a pub serving good food, right nextdoor & a great little shop in the village made for a very happy holiday.

Fabulous!

The cottage is very thoughtfully and very thoroughly equipped and to a very high standard. It is spotlessly clean, cosy and extremely comfortable. The immediate location is idyllic and the surrounding area, including Kintail, Lochaber and Skye, is utterly gorgeous. With an enterprising village shop on one side and a pub/hotel through a gate on the other side, the cottage is well served. With a very reasonable price and a decent cancellation policy, Glenbeag Cottage represents wonderful value. We recommend unreservedly.

Great base for exploring Glenelg

This is a simple cottage with everything you could or should need for a stay in Glenelg. It's not ultra modern or tech heavy, and the price reflects it. If you stay here and find yourself needing something more then the likelihood is that the Scottish Highlands isn't for you :) I would recommend the property is best for small groups of friends or young families (2 adults + 2-3 kids). The Glenelg Shop & the Glenelg Inn have plenty between them to keep you going if you don't want to stock up too heavily before reaching the village. Support local please.

Absolutely incredible property in amazing location

The whole experience is staying at this property in Glenelg was amazing. The house surpassed our expectations and was very modern inside with literally everything you could possibly need including bikes and kayaks! The inn next door is great and you can’t hear any noise in the evening from the house. The people are all really friendly! We’d recommend doing the quiz night on Thursday! So much to do around the little peninsula as well with the brewery and brochs close by as well as some amazing walks. The hosts were so helpful and provided everything we could need to make our stay as wonderful as possible. I could not recommend more and will definitely be coming back.

A restorative holiday

Glenbeag is a lovely property with every comfort and stylishly appointed. It is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the world and every day there are new views and discoveries to be made. We enjoy walking and there are walks of all levels of difficulty - we mostly like to leave the car and walk from the door and there was no shortage of routes with sea and mountain views. We walked to the bay where Gavin Maxwell (Ring of bright water) lived and had the place to ourselves for a couple of hours. The pub is right next door and very welcoming if you tire of cooking for yourselves, and, although popular, there was no disturbance from the customers. The local shop is small but has a reasonable stock of necessities as well as a few treats. Glenbeag is also very convenient for a day on Skye - one wet day we drove over and did an arts and craft trail - a perfect activity for a wet day. The cottage was well maintained, spotlessly clean and furnished with great care and attention. we had a lovely stay and would recommend it unreservedly.

Spotless and lovely extra’s

After a more basic chalet the week before this cottage felt luxurious; well appointed, spacious and absolutely spotless. As we were with the three of us we did not use the bikes and Kayaks that came with the cottage, but nonetheless appreciated that it was available. Also lovely that there was a landline telephone available, because being on a foreign cellphone plan we could not even phone with help of the excellently functioning WiFi. The listing gave the impression that the cottage was situated with a view over the bay, and though through some windows you have glimpses,it is not a full view. As it is only a few minutes walk to the bay, it was just a minor disappointment and everything else was lovely. Maybe just add one bigger frying pan to the otherwise very complete kitchen utensils, we ended up having to do a sort of stirfry in a regular pan..
