We were a family of 8 who came for the Xmas period and we had a lovely time! Only a 15min walk to the beach and a large Tescos is nearby
The house itself was more than spacious enough and had all the utilities and equipment we needed for our 5 day stay.
Even when there was a problem with the heating the lettings agent was able to get out a plumber on Xmas Eve who managed to sort out the problem on the same day (and was such a lovely man as well!)
All in all we had a lovely stay and would definitely stay there again
We enjoyed our stay at North Shore. At times there were 10 of us in residence and we didn't feel short of space. Unfortunately, because the weather was appallingly wet during our stay we could not make the most of the outside space but this, of course, is not a problem of the rental.
There were some issues with this property that I feel should be mentioned:
ACCESS: The access to the house is certainly not for those with limited mobility. One can either enter through the downstairs playroom but this means one has to negotiate a very steep set of wooden stairs. Access to the main door involves either using concrete stepping stones over water (no water in it when we were there) or via a couple of paving slabs on a steep grass slope. Again not ideal and certainly when the weather is wet makes the access dangerously slippery.
CLEANLINESS: The initial impression of the house was that it was clean. However, upon our arrival at 9pm I really had no wish to have to wash up the 15 dirty glasses (all with greasy fingermarks covering the entire outside of the glasses), 2 unwashed frying pans, 2 saucepans with what looked like either potato and pasta water marks. There was also dirty cutlery. The oven gloves had not been replaced with clean ones and were covered in food marks from the previous occupant. I mentioned this problem about a week into our stay when I had to make mention to the property manager about the fact that the heating was not working in the main living room. Her response was "....... depending on the condition that the property is left in when vacated sometimes there simply isn’t time to check every single item of kitchen equipment and things can get overlooked". This response is totally unacceptable. If there is not sufficient time to clean then they should employ an extra person.
HEATING: As just mentioned, we had a problem with some of the radiators in the living room. When we arrived the house was lovely and warm - very much appreciated considering the awful weather - but after a couple of days it seemed that the radiators were only producing luke-warm heat. I gave it another day or so before realising that the radiators in that room had failed completely which is when I then raised the issue with the manager. She dealt with this swiftly and had someone come around to fix this.
So, all in all, not bad but not what I expect considering the amount of money it cost to rent there.
This is an excellent property for a large extended family which we were. Well situated for Carbis beach and Porthminster beach both with good amenities. St Ives not too far to walk to either.
The house was well stocked with most everything you will need and plenty of room for everyone.
The only small minor negative points would be the hot water system didn’t always work and the open space at the top of the stairs which didn’t have a stair gate, we had a 2 year old with us which made it impossible not to have to follow her around constantly, a stair gate would have given her a little bit more freedom to run around with the other 2 children.
All in all a wonderful stay.
A beautiful house with plenty of space inside and out to relax. Garden, private and quiet. House located close to both Carbis Bay and St Ives, short walk to coastal path or road to catch bus.
A perfect holiday retreat in a perfect location.
Lovely house with good facilities and a great location. A gentle 15 minute walk with stunning scenery. We were a family group aged 26 to 84 and there was plenty of apace for us all. A great family holiday.

A wonderful house in a perfect location
We have just spent a wonderful week over New Year in this fabulous and very comfortable house. What a gem in a perfect location. With views from most rooms across Carbis Bay and plenty of places to sit in the garden and enjoy them too.The house has everything you could possibly need - a lovely large lounge, a well equipped kitchen with dining area and very comfortable bedrooms - lovely linen and very comfy beds!! The downstairs games room with another double room and en suite room is a genius addition, Patio doors from here lead straight into the garden which is beautifully landscaped and maintained. Easy access to lovely walks straight from the house and to the beaches along this part of the coastline. For families with children and people with dogs this is as perfect as you can get, We very much hope to return. Thank you.
