Adjacent to the terrace, with its comfortable rattan sofa set and four sun loungers, is an attractive vine and wisteria covered pergola providing a Mediterranean style al fresco dining area complete with teak table and chairs, festival lighting and barbecue.
Upstairs the house provides four large bedrooms comprising three double bedrooms each with en suite facilities and one twin bedroom with its own dedicated bathroom. Two of the double bedrooms have super king size (6 ft x 6 ft 6 ins) beds, one of which can be made up as twin beds, and one has a king size bed (5 ft x 6 ft 6 ins).
Downstairs the house comprises two light and airy dual aspect sitting rooms (each with two comfortable sofas), a large kitchen/dining room with two pairs of French windows opening on to a sunny south facing terrace and pool, spacious hall, downstairs wc, utility and cloak room and an additional shower room with wc. See below for further details of facilities in each room.
The large fully equipped kitchen/dining room (24ft x 16ft) includes a 7 burner double oven range cooker, Miele dishwasher, American style fridge freezer, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, granite work tops and island unit with two bar stools, oak dining table with 10 contemporary dining chairs and an extensive range of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glassware.
The larger sitting room (22ft X 13ft) has extensive and comfortable soft furnishings including two large sofas, suede bean bag, 55 inch Samsung TV (all terrestrial channels and pre-loaded with apps including Netflix, iPlayer, Amazon Prime, etc), surround sound, Humax Freeview TV Player and Recorder, CD/DVD player, Apple TV and Spotify connection for your own smartphone music collection.
The snug (16ft X 13 ft) has an open fire place, 2 sofas, desk, 30 inch Sony Smart TV and DVD player.
Also on the ground floor are two WCs (one with shower) and a utility room with Miele washing machine, drier, classic wooden clothes airer, coat cupboard and shoe cupboard.

About the host
Hosted by Janet and Michael Lindsay
My husband Michael and I live and work in London and bought this house as a holiday and weekend home in 2006 after renting in Itchenor for 5 years. With the help of our excellent local architect Joanna Jefferson and our skilled team of builders we virtually rebuilt the house, equipping it with every modern convenience whilst retaining the best of its original features. It has the true feeling of a family home as many guests have attested.
Our two children are now both grown up and, whilst we and they still love to visit Itchenor, we use the house less frequently than we did when the children were younger and have started to make it available to others.
We have always gained so much from our trips to Itchenor for holidays and short breaks. I am sure you will also.

Why they chose this property
We originally bought the house so my husband could indulge his passion for sailing and our two children could learn to sail also. With Itchenor Sailing Club just 200 yards away the location could not be more convenient.
Since then the whole family has fallen in love with Itchenor and all that it has to offer in addition to sailing. Picnics on the beach at West Wittering and walks from the house along the harbour front (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and also around East Head (National Trust) are particular highlights for us.
