About this property
Luxurious Villa, Heated Private Pool and panoramic views to the Mediterranean
La Bergerie is set in un-spoilt Provence but within easy reach of the vibrant towns and beaches of the French Riviera. It boasts a beautiful pool, stunning views and a large private garden ensuring total privacy offering guests a private hideaway in a quiet beautiful setting a few minutes from the village.
The property comprises two beautifully furnished properties - the main house (4 bedrooms-one interconnecting) and a one bedroom guest house, La Petite Bergerie, the original farmhouse.
The main house can be rented on its own if 6 guests or with La Petite Bergerie (at an extra cost if 8 guests). Both scrupulously clean with impeccable standards of hygiene.
La Bergerie is positioned on a south-facing slope, providing stunning views towards the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. The house is surrounded by over 2 acres of wonderfully scented gardens with terraces of olive trees, fig trees, oaks and cypresses as well as sweet smelling lavender, jasmine and rosemary. The gardens and pool are floodlit. It is a perfect location to enjoy a peaceful, luxurious holiday with family and/or friends in an idyllic rural setting only 5 mins drive from Seillans one of France's most beautiful medieval villages. This is an area renowned for its outstanding beauty yet close to the hustle and bustle of the coast.
The house has been restored and furnished with attention to detail to retain its authentic charm and grace Inside the house, the original large wooden beams have been preserved. one with a lounge area for relaxation, the other with table and chairs for al fresco dining.
The open plan living room has a large dining table and chairs seating 8 people. Wifi internet, a Samsung 42' TV with satellite channels and dvd, a Bose sound dock, and a selection of dvd's, maps, cook books, guidebooks and board games are all available.
Naturally centred around outdoor living, the property has a stunning pool, a garden planted with olive trees, lavender, sweet-smelling bushes and old pine trees. The large pool deck is equipped with sun loungers, umbrellas and a covered lounge area but guests might prefer to take a siesta in the hammock under the shade of the property’s mature trees. An invitation to unwind, provencal-style, the house also offers its own private “terrain de petanque”.
Provence tends to be seen as a summer destination but with its mild climate, so much to do in the area and our spacious interiors, our house is a comfortable getaway destination for friends and families at all time of year.

About the host
Hosted by Deborah Fitzpatrick
We bought La Bergerie having fallen in love with Seillans and the beauty of the surrounding area, we have a large family all of whom love holidaying in this beautiful part of the world.
It has always been a dream of ours to spend more time in the South of France and this is the place that has become our heaven on earth to share with family and friends for hopefully many years to come.
Our house is extremely comfortable and we use it year round as the location lends itself to summer and winter pursuits including skiing.

Why they chose this property
When we first visited La Bergerie we fell in love with the views, the house and the magnificent grounds. Seillans itself is one of the most beautiful villages in France, steeped in history and with its lively markets, vineyards, olive groves, galleries, fabulous restaurants and the cooking school it is a perfect palce to spend time.
The summers are hot, the spring and autumn pleasantly warm and winters mild - a welcome change from home! It was important to us that the house was easy to reach if we want to escape just for a weekend. It was also important that there is a 'depth' to the area - plenty of artistic, cultural, historical and sporting diversions especially skiing to keep us occupied.

What makes this property unique
When we stay at La Bergerie we feel extremely comfortable and fortunate to have such a beautiful property with an aspect, climate and provencal aroma that we couldn't have in London. The house is very private and peaceful as it is not overlooked, however we can walk into the village for dinner or to a local music festival if we want too. It is easily accessible to the coast and with Nice being served by multiple airlines it gives us easy access to a region with many attractions and places of interest. The time we spend by the pool and the lunches on our terrace with a glass of rose are heaven. We hope that we are able to spend more time there!
