Beautiful mountain retreat

A sweet cabin close to it all with that far away feeling. The bed was super comfortable and nice touches like coffee set and soaps shampoo lotion were appreciated. We enjoyed the hot tub. Love the landscaping too. Would highly recommend and would return. Thank you

Great couple’s getaway

We enjoyed our stay at the Curious Bear cabin. Jeremy and Jennifer were great hosts and available if needed. The cabin is decorated beautifully and in a scenic quiet spot but still a quick to drive to Gatlinburg activities.

Perfect family of 4 cabin!

We had a wonderful time at the Curious Bear! Our children, 7 and 4, loved the hot tub, their lofted room and finding bears in all the decor. Great location, comfortable beds, quiet location but quick drive to attractions, 2 full bathrooms ideal and laundry!

Great!

Location was perfect for visiting Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, nice and quiet with distance from other properties. Separate space for kids worked out great, and the hot tub is a nice bonus. Definitely will consider staying here again!

Beautiful cabin

Cabin is in like new condition. According to the owner it had burnt and rebuilt in 2017. The amenities were in excess of what other cabins we had rented in the past. Coffee being supplied was a plus. Cabin is exactly as portrayed. We will definitely be back.

Very nice cabin

The cabin was very nice! The hot tub was a nice extra. Laundry on site was great because we did a lot of hiking in the park and needed to wash/dry things. It’s very convenient to the park as well as Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Loved the authentic cabin feel!

Home away from home

The Curious Bear was the perfect cabin for our family of 4! Our boys loved the loft bedroom and hot tub. Jennifer was quick to respond to any questions we had before we booked, checked on us after our first night and wished us a safe trip home! It was clean, decorated with fall decor and better than what we expected. 😊

Perfect location!

We loved it! It is just about ideal location wise, being right between Pidgeon Forge and Gatlinburg. And despite being so close to all the activity, it still felt very remote and removed. The king size bed was so comfy too! The place is clean and well appointed. Instructions were clear for check in/check out. It was a very nice stay. Our only negative is that the kid bedroom area upstairs is an open loft, so that bedroom has no way of shutting out the light/noise from the living room. We had to hang out in the bedroom and give the kids some time to fall asleep before we could 'sneak out' and use the hot tub in the evening. Also if you have very young kids (early walkers), the stair case and bed set up might not be friendly. Our 3 year old did fall out of the twin bed once. She was fine, but it is something to keep in mind. Over all though, we loved it. We'd definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in the area again. :)

A real treat

this cabin gets very good ratings but you just never know. In my opinion, every single one was spot on. We traveled with our dog Tedi and she is 70 lbs. While staying in a cabin called "curious bear", traveling with a dog may seem like a bad idea. It wasn't. There was plenty to do in town with her and even just hanging at the cabin was great. We didn't see a bear all weekend thinking they might have smelled Tedi. But, right before we left, we saw a bear and her cubs. Tedi was not close to the bears and barked like crazy. very exciting and not scary because we were given good information about the area. don't miss this little jewel!

About the host

We started coming to the Smokies in 2006 and have come back every year since. We finally decided this is where we want to spend our retirement. But we still have some years until that happens so we decided to buy a cabin ourselves, With the hopes of staying and sharing it with others until we make the big move for good. We love everything about Tennessee & are so happy to share it with you

Why they chose this property

We chose this cabin in Gatlinburg because we love being close to the town and all the festivals and action, yet we are in in a private area secluded and surrounded by nature. You get the best of both worlds. We have been visiting Gatlinburg for 10 years now and there is always new and old things we cant wait to do each time we are here. You will love the area and all the things to do.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with this home because of how private the location is yet you are 5 minutes to town. The cabin decks are a great place to sit with your morning coffee and breathe the mountain air. Being minutes to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and in the middle of nature its truly a wonderful place to relax and unwind
