Country property In Rural Herefordshire / Powys border near Hay on Wye
Meadow End Barn sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms (the sixth bedroom is open to the sitting room up a spiral staircase on mezzanine), peaceful village location, 6 miles from Hay on Wye. Lovely stone property with huge sitting room great for large parties set in courtyard with private parking and walled garden.
Up to date interiors with 6 bedrooms (4 on the ground floor) and a 6th open plan bedroom set on a mezzanine. 5 shower or bathrooms, three ensuite. All with underfloor heating. Filled with creature comforts and very well equipped kitchen. 2 dogs welcome. Walking distance to the village pub. Great walking area with Black mountains and Brecon Beacons to hand.
A note about accessibility…. unfortunately the house isn’t really suitable for wheelchair users because the kitchen and living space is upstairs. There is an exposed cobbled landing (uneven) leading to the bedrooms on the ground floor. We don’t supply baby gates and there is an open landing which has bannisters but there is a drop to the floor below.

House was better than expected. It was superb. Great for a family get together. Kitchen was large, lounge was large, garden was large and everything was just perfect.
The space was amazing, spacious, cozy! We had an amazing weekend with friends working on projects and everyone was very happy about the stay. Kitchen was really good size for a lot of people to stand there and have a casual chat so as the rest of the space.
An ideal place to stay, we did so for a 60th birthdays celebration. Accommodated all 12 adults in comfort, allowing us to have a celebratory meal and drinks. Trips to nearby Hay and the Arthur’s Stone ridge by the property. An excellent weekend, thank you Coralie.
Wonderful property, very well equipped, had a lovely stay with the family .
Good communication with the host .
Beautiful area .
Only downside poor wi-fi connection and tv did not work, but didn't spoil our weekend.
The Pandy inn is highly recommended.
A beautiful comfortable house. Plenty of room for larger groups. The kitchen is well stocked the bedrooms.and bathrooms were very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The host was very helpful and kept in touch. Overall this is a very stylish house very cosy for a winter weekend away. I would totally recommend a visit.
One of the best holiday homes we’ve ever stayed. Good communication with owner.
Nice pub in village.
House had everything we needed.
Will definitely return.
We had an excellent stay and would thoroughly recommend the barn.
Everything was there that we needed for a family get together pre-Christmas.
Had dinner at the Pandy Inn which was also excellent.
We had a great time with our friends staying at this Property. There is plenty of room and we were fortunate enough to have a couple of dry days that allowed us to sit outside in the garden for a few drinks. We also made use of the Pandy Inn just up the road.
Fabulous property, beautiful rural location. Property as described, with gorgeous interior and garden furnishings to make our stay especially comfortable. Would recommend without hesitation.
Beautiful and spacious property; tastefully decorated; incredibly well-equipped; and ideal for extended family celebrations. The Pandy Inn - just a short stroll down the road - is a fantastic place to have a meal.
We have just returned from staying at Meadow Barn and what a lovely experience it was! The accommodation is superb and our host, Coralie very friendly and helpful. There are beautiful walks from the doorstep and Hay on Wye and Hereford are only a short drive away. A perfect place for a group of friends or family gathering - we have already booked to return again next year!
Exceeded all expectations. The property is beautiful, cosy, and perfectly set up for large groups. More bathrooms/ensuites than you can count, comfy linen, stocked kitchen, and a table big enough for all guests to enjoy dinner together. Extra callout to the extremely comfy chairs around the log fire, perfect for a quiet weekend of reading. Coralie is an exceptional host, responsive, informative, and friendly. If the place is available for your dates, stop reading and book. It is wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Coralie was a great host. The building is lovely, great communal area and sociable kitchen space. Beds were very comfy. The oven is slower which wasn’t listed till we got a welcome pdf so Christmas was a lot slower- but certainly wouldn’t stop us going again. There were plenty of showers and loos. Coralie left a few decorations up which was appreciated .the house had everything we needed- an abundance of cookware/plates and mugs..
Had a lovely holiday at Meadow End Barn celebrating my 70th birthday with family.Property clean and well equipped, although a washing line would have been useful.Coralie and villagers very friendly and welcoming.Had a couple of meals at the local pub, very friendly staff and very accommodating for disabled members in my party.
Would recommend Meadow End Barn.
The pictures made me think it was too good to be true but it was even better than this! Stunning property and so much space. Well insulated - we actually had to turn the heating off. The kitchen is laid out very well and a sociable space whilst being functional.
Superb location for dog walking and hill running.

Simply Stunning!
Meadow End Barn was the perfect choice for our family get together. We had a group of 8 adults and 4 children staying at this spacious property. It was presented in immaculate condition with a well equipped kitchen and the added bonus of those extra home comforts. Everyone in the group commented on just how nice the property was. We all thoroughly enjoyed our family meals on the large 12 place dining table.
Highly recommended property and would love to stay again in the future.

A comfortable quality barn
Set in a small village with a friendly pub, this barn was really comfortable and warm to stay in. The kitchen was great. We love cooking and there was an excellent range of utensils, cutlery and crockery. Everything in the property, from the towels to the tableware was quality. The entrance was a stone floor which was great for the dog during a wet week. The owners were very friendly. Despite the weather we found plenty to do in the area.
Bunch of 60 year olds , university friends meeting up. Barn was as per pictures - excellent , very comfortable and great space for 7 adults to chill in comfort.
the Pand Inn pub was two minutes walk away and was very good- real ales and good food with great service.
Can also reconned the Nags Head in Peterschurch- had a very good welcome there for Sunday lunch
Meadow end barn is beautifully decorated very comfortable and generously equipped. We were all older people meeting up so spent an Iinordinate amount of time chatting round the lounge and kitchen. It is a lovelY part of the world.. I have very poor mobility got up the stairs on Friday stayed there till Monday. Perfect.

About the host
Hosted by Coralie Rogers
My name is Coralie. I was bought up in this area. It offers a wealth of things to do and places to visit.
Why they chose this property
The Golden Valley is a beautiful place to be and ideally located for the Black Mountains and, one of my favourite places in the world, Hay on Wye, with it artisan shops, second hand book haunts and great foodie cafés. The River Wye and Offas Dyke path are close by.
What makes this property unique
Great rural location with lots of walking routes including Offa's Dyke Path and the Black Mountains and in easy walking distance to the pub! The local village shop opens in the mornings selling local produce and Hay on Wye is just 6 miles away Meadow End is comfortable and well equipped. It also has a good utility room which is v warm all year round so useful for wet shoes and dogs!
