We had a lovely stay in the Corner House. A comfortable, spacious, warm, clean place. Well appointed and with many interesting and attractive furnishings in keeping with its age. Modern kitchen and a very useful basement area. Being right in Uppingham gave us plenty of choice for eating and drinking all within a few minutes walk. Given the town location and opposite a pub we still found our stay nice and quiet. Uppingham is a nice town with attractive buildings and excellent restaurants. We very much enjoyed our stay and walking in the Rutland countryside. Would stay here again.

Liked: Communication, location, listing accuracy
Plenty of space and convenient location, everything worked. Quirky and interesting furniture and decor. Fine for a short break. However, not suitable for small children or those with mobility issues, the staircase is quite steep. Plenty of crockery in the kitchen. There was noise from the pub opposite and from passing traffic but it was not disruptive. Parking could have been an issue but we managed to find spaces close to the house. We felt both showers would benefit from updating.
Great property in great location. We loved the house and being able to walk everywhere. House was really clean and Simon could not have been a better or more friendly host!
The house provided an excellent base for our trip. We all wished that we had more time to spend there, everything from televisions to board games were provided.
Plenty of towels were available for use and the house was immaculately clean and furnished beautifully.
The property was very nice and peaceful. We needed trash bags for the kitchen. Fans in the bedrooms would have been nice as leaving the windows open did not feel secure being kitty corner to main roads.
The house was larger than what I thought it would have been. There were plenty of pillows on the beds but a few more towels would have been nice to have while the others dried.
I really appreciated the binder with the cottage information on it. It gave me a sense of homeowner pride. I appreciated the umbrella at the doorway and the coatrack as well.
Overall, my family felt very comfortable at the corner house and we were able to experience quaint town living for a few days.
I would definitely come back to the corner house. It was lovely!
An amazing trip and gorgeous town. We enjoyed being walking distance to everything. Parking is the only difficulty, but we were always out and about seeing different towns during the restricted parking times. The house itself was great for us. We will definitely use it again when we come back with the children. Thank you for sharing your gem with us.

The Corner House is Ideal
Staying at the Corner House is one of my most cherished experiences on a recent trip to the UK. It is a very special house.
Four generations of my family have lived in Uppingham, although I have lived away for many years, I keep coming home to my favourite English Market town.
Year property purchased: 2014 Finished complete renovation in July 2014, very pleased with out come. All main windows now replaced with wooden double glazing, very pleased with out come.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the house, it has a great atmosphere and is in the perfect location for guests to explore Uppingham and the picturesque county of Rutland
