Exceptionally clean and very comfortable cottage in beautiful rural surroundings. Had everything we needed. Great base for exploring Harrogate/York and surrounding areas or relaxing in the cottage.Super friendly hosts who left a very generous welcome pack. Highly recommend
Yates Cottage is set in an idyllically beautiful location, is spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped, tastefully decorated and has comfortable beds. Our hosts, Andy and Sue were gracious, sociable and fun to engage with. The welcome basket of goodies was 5-star. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

Lovely property in a fantastic setting. Would love to stay again. It has everything needed for comfort, cooking and plenty of reading materials, and games.
There was nothing we could have needed which wasnt thought of in this cottage.
A tremendous welcome pack along with a freshly baked cake meant that we didnt need to worry about shopping when we got there.
Perfectly located too!

The perfect getaway -
The property is in an ideal landscape, well equipped, clean and spacious. A wonderful welcome hamper and everything for the first meal, The manager kindly showed us round and was very helpful. It was a home from home experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Excellent restaurants nearby and plenty to visit in the area.
Fantastic location in the Yorkshire countryside. Lovely single floor cottage with all the necessary amenities and utilities. Andy and Sue are fantastic hosts. The welcome pack was full of local produce. We would thoroughly recommend and will definitely visit again.

A beautifully located cottage in the heart of Yorkshire with very hospitable hosts
This cottage has everything one could wish for to enjoy a genuine country vacation in the heart of Yorkshire, near the beautiful town of Harrogate. Andy and Sue are lovely and very welcoming hosts, and the house is very comfortable and well equipped. The location is unique in the Nidderdales, excellent starting point for exploring Yorkshire Dales, York, or any of the other many historic towns and villages in the neighbourhood, perfect for walking or or biking vacations.

Thank you very much for your lovely review and for coming to visit us from the Netherlands. We wish we could speak Dutch as well as you speak English! It was a pleasure to have you staying and we hope your daughter enjoys her time studying at Leeds Uni. Very best wishes, from Andy & Sue
A well equipped cottage in a beautiful location. Greeted with a welcome hamper full of Yorkshire treats and a tasty homemade cake. We didn’t meet the owners as they were away but their son was at hand and we also received an email to check in on us which I was a nice touch. A peaceful place to holiday and thoughtfully kitted out, it was like home from home.
Andy, Sue & their 2 pet spaniels all live at Yates House in Nidderdale. Yates Cottage sits in the grounds of Yates House, a 100 acre estate, overlooking pasture, a small lake and the valley beyond. We take great pride in welcoming guests to both our cottage, but as importantly the surrounding area, which really holds something for everyone.
Why they chose this property
The cottage started life as a stable, being part of the original farm which dates back to the 1750's. Over the years, various owners have developed the stable into a single storey 2 bedroomed home. After we moved to Yates House in 2008, we decided to fully refurbish the cottage as a dedicated holiday let and the work was completed in 2011. It has flourished ever since.
What makes this property unique
As it is within the grounds of our home, we naturally think it is ideally located for those who want to enjoy a rural retreat, but to be only 20 or so minutes in different directions from Harrogate, Ilkley, Skipton, Pateley Bridge, Grassington, Ripon and the many, many attractions they offer makes it an ideal base.
