About this property
Cottage With Private Terrace, Garden Views Set In A Pretty Courtyard
From the moment you step inside this cottage, a feeling of cosiness envelops you. The hand-made English Oak door leads into the Living Room. A solid oak floor gives the feeling of warmth, and the mix of antique and new furniture compliments this. A modern sofa with plenty of cushions was chosen for chosen for it's comfort. With the paintwork done in Farrow and Ball, the door and window furniture hand made in England, the attention to detail has been meticulous. The windows have been glazed with the nearest thing to handmade you can get! Free Wi-Fi, helpful and friendly owners on hand. We also provide an Nespresso coffee machine. Since opening in 2009, we have consistently been awarded 4* Gold award from the Visit England

About the host
Hosted by Anne Jolin
We have lived here for 30 years, and Rob has done all the building work himself. Nothing had been done to the house or the outbuildings for years, and it's been a labour of love to restore it. Originally a Market Garden, over the years the land was sold off, and when we came it only had an acre left. The house was built in 1703, and rumour has it that the original barn was burnt down during the Peasant's Revolt. The Roman road which led from Richborough (where the Romans first landed in Britain), runs directly in front of the house. The cottages are set in a pretty courtyard. We are on-site to give you as much (or as little!) help as you need to make sure your stay with us is memorable. We always welcome our guests personally, and will do all we can to make sure you enjoy your holiday.
Why they chose this property
We always knew we wanted a house in the country, set back from the road with a big garden, but couldn't afford one! So we bought a wreck and Rob worked his magic and it turned from an ugly ducking into a swan!
