About this property

Casa del Vento in San Cono, ancient stone dwelling among olive trees

The house has been owned by my family since its foundation at the end of the 19th century, divided into two autonomous and contiguous parts, one of which I (Francesco) and my partner Stefania live in. Immersed among centuries-old olive groves and oak and downy oak woods, caressed by winds that mitigate the summer heat, it is the ideal place for those seeking a relaxing holiday in contact with nature, simple, authentic and convivial hospitality. Excellent starting point for excursions in the mountains as for refrigerants descents to the sea. My partner and I will be happy to share with you our knowledge of the area, our passions and the fruits of our land. And, for climbing lovers, we are less than 30 minutes from the cliffs of Caltavuturo and Scalfani with hundreds of bolted routes of varying difficulty, a must for anyone who wants to discover "vertical" Sicily
We speak english and some french.

Surrounded by ancient olive groves and oak forests, caressed by winds mitigating the summer heat, it is the ideal place for those seeking a relaxing holiday in touch with nature, with simple, authentic and convivial hospitality.

Excellent starting point for mountain hikes or to go swimming in the Mediterranean.
Me and Stefania will be happy to share with you our knowledge of the area, our passions and the fruits of our land. For those who love rock climbing, we are less than 30 mins driving from the cliff walls of Caltavuturo and Sclafani with hundreds routes of different grades, a real "heaven" for those looking for the "vertical side" of Sicily.

Mountainliving with spectacular view!

Nice and clean living with great owners. They helped us when we wanted to visit a vineyard. The vineyard was a fantastic experience. Highly recommended by the owners and now by us aswell!

Excellent location.

Francesco and Stephanie were extremely nice and very helpful. Their English is good and they respond to texts and emails promptly. The directions to get to the property were very good and it was easy to find - Francesco was waiting for us on the corner! The property is an old Sicilian farmhouse which has been in the family for 5 generations. It is on 2 levels with original floor tiles on the upstairs landing. It is located in a quiet rural area below a road with nice views out, 13.5 kilometres from the hilltop town of Polizzia Generosa. There are some lovely hikes in the Parco Della Madonie. Francesco and Stephanie live next door and know all about the local area. The property has ample space for 2 people and there is a large tree shaded patio and parking area. Fresh drinking water is provided. The bathroom water is extremely hot! The cooking area was small. Francesco and Stephanie offer to cook meals at a charge. We were given a freshly made jar of delicious pasta sauce.

Im liebevoll restaurierten Bauernhaus umgeben von wunderschöner Landschaft und Ruhe haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Francesco und Stefania sind überaus herzliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. In näherer Umgebung gibt es malerische Bergdörfer, schön zu besichtigen und gut zum Einkaufen. Also ein perfekter Ort um unseren Wanderurlaub im traumhaften Parco delle Madonie zu genießen.

A wonderful experience in the enchanted mountains of Sicily

With my family I spent two fantastic weeks in August in "Casa del Vento". Francesco and Stefania are two exceptional, attentive, kind and helpful guests. The house is spacious, pleasantly cool and functionally and nicely furnished: the best starting point for marvelous walks in the mountains or towards the magical places of ancient Sicily. We stayed very well and we warmly suggest everyone to take a relaxing stop in Casa del Vento.
