Winnie Cottage is absolutely beautiful. Every aspect of the cottage is well thought out & the facilities are excellent. Especially the hot tub, It’s huge & the sauna aswell as all the other facilities provided means u don’t need to leave as there is something for everyone. The games room is a great addition for teenagers aswell as all the games, toys etc for smaller children. On arrival we were welcomed with a fantastic hamper which was a lovely surprise. The hosts are very welcoming & nothing is too much trouble, the communication is excellent. I can’t recommend this place enough. It truly is a beautiful hidden gem
Property is lovely with all the essentials (and bonus extras) needed. Clean, modern and full of mod cons. The garden is the stand out feature - loads to keep both adults and children happy. Communication with Mark and Michelle was excellent. Would definitely come again.
Booked for a family getaway. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Lots to do within the property itself and good location. Communication with host was good and would stay again.
Had the pleasure of spending a couple of nights here with my partner and 3 daughters. A great place to get away and spend some quality time. It feels very remote but at the same time is close enough to drive or jump the train into Newcastle for the day. It was great sitting around the firepit in the evening after a soak in the hot tub! Plenty here for the whole family we would definitely stay again.
We had a great stay here in between Christmas and new year! So much to do for the kids and loads of toys/board games provided too! Welcome basket with loads of M&S produce was a lovely touch!
We stayed here for our daughters 11th birthday with her friends.
So much to keep the kids entertained and a beautiful location. Beautiful home and fantastic time had by all.
Great family property with everything that was needed.Plenty to keep two young kids entertained and space for the dogs to run around in safety. The outdoor kitchen was fantastic and we used this more than the one downstairs (via a spiral staircase). The automatic lights were a bit random, especially in the lounge. We couldn’t find a way to turn them off completely.
pretty much as you see on the pictures(which is rare) all lovely would definitely revisit and communication was spot on. downside which is very minimal, no way to light fire pit or log burner unless u take something with you (as all none smokers we didnt av a lighter but our rechargeable lighter we brought to light didnt have enough charge ) but it was stated when messaged that its due to H&S which i guess is fair enough, the coffee table is very dangerous not only to young kids but also adults, i think all of us have left with bruises from the table and the glass isnt secure on the stand which made us all aware that it could break at any time and be on edge throughout the stay. we all enjoyed been there for the weekend and found that most things were thought of from kitchen to entertainment to kids to chill, a great way to spend time with the family
Enjoyed our 3 night stay in this very tranquil property…. Great dining Orangery very quirky kitchen via spiral staircase in the basement and great views from the Hot Tub

Hi Lee-Anne
Thanks for your kind comments and it was a pleasure having you stay over the festive period. I would have no hesitation recommending these guests , credit to homeaway.
A great time had by all the family at Winnie Cottage In beautiful Northumberland.
The gardens and house were a brilliant base to celebrate our daughters birthday with everything on hand for a truly wonderful experience.
Thank you for an amazing stay. A great place with plenty of things to entertain people of all ages. The fact that it was dog friendly too was the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend. We will definitely be back. Great communication from the owner throughout and we appreciated the welcome pack - it was so thoughtful.
Spacious and well equipped property.
Very peaceful location. Lovely views from garden. Especially loved the hot tub and garden.
Pool table also a hit with our teens.
Really enjoyed our stay.
Spacious, clean, lovely location and property.
The welcome hamper was amazing.
The host were always quick to respond to any queries.
Glad we had a chat with the maintenance person for the hot tub so we could make best use of it.
Would have liked a few more cleaning products ie cleaning spray and bin liners.
We spent three nights here - grandparents, parents and four children (12-19). Had a fab time - chilled and enjoyed the outdoor facilities - so much to do. Would highly recommend. Mark was great - really quick to respond to our questions. Thank you.
An amazing place, the kids and dog loved it. So much freedom with it been locked gates and fence. Great selection of toys games and outdoor equipment theyve really thought of everything. Highly recommended for anyone with children. The space inside and outside the property is amazing no one was in anyones way loads of space to do your own thing. Doesnt matter about the weather there is enough things to keep you occupied in all weathers. Local aldi and coop within 10 min drive.Cant wait to go again.again spaceanoutside
I chose Winnie cottage as Winnie was name of my late friend and thought she would guide me to the right spot and she certainly did just that ! I wanted something private after not interacting for a long term period and this was perfect the whole property is secluded with awesome views plenty outdoor space to roam around, well equipped for catering and plenty toys for kids, the only things I’d of changed for our particular party is living area glass coffee table just for the toddler and mayb something around pond and sand the edging of fire pit seat which is a little rough on bare legs,, we hit great with weather so if mark and Michelle looking for any ideas a sail or umbrella for bit shade for hot days and maybe couple more loungers seats facing into the sun. these things were all very minor points and our view as a family but on a whole property is beautiful in a beautiful location and something to be proud of and iam sure in coming years it will only keep improving 😊 and thank you for the gift on arrival 🤗
