The house is the perfect size for our family. The boat dock is large enough for all of us. It was a fairly quiet cove. The mattresses on the beds could be better. Over all enjoyed our stay.
House was great and had a fun stay with 9 family members. Jim (owner) has two different houses we have stayed at multiple times and would highly recommend both.
The stay was great, but the house air conditioning was not very good and it only had a TV in the front room and a TV in the basement. Nothing in the bedrooms and the bathrooms weren’t the greatest. The barbecue grill was dirty and it did not have it working proper.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! My siblings and our families all met at the lake for the best family time we could ask for! It was relaxing and perfect for all ages. We’ve been to several lake houses over the years and this was perfect for us!
Communication with Jim was great. The property was the perfect size for 7-8 adults. Nice big dock where fish were caught. We appreciated the outdoor space and 2 living rooms. We will stay again.
Place was clean and well maintained. Had everything we needed. Jim was easy to reach when we had questions. Neighborhood was quiet and the lake was way less crowded in this area. Had a blast.
We had an extended family of 12 stay on property. There was plenty of room for all. The dock area was outstanding! The communication with the owner was very quick. Overall it was a good stay.
Our family wanted to get together at the Lake for Easter. This house was perfect! The 5 bedrooms allowed everyone to have their own space. The yard was awesome for the kids to play outside and hunt Easter eggs. The dock provided fishing for everyone. We had a problem with no hot water and the issue was fixed within 30 minutes of my phone call. Will definitely be back!
The pictures do not do this house & location justice. 6 full grown adults were able to spread out & enjoy each other’s company in a spacious, comfortable and well-appointed home. Home furnishings provided a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy our get together, the house and grounds are extremely well maintained & clean (Hard to believe, but we even noticed that the lake cobwebs, prevalent to lake docks everywhere, had been completely cleared away…. It’s always the little things that make it a “Great Stay” instead of just another rental.)
Our hosts were extremely congenial & non-invasive to our privacy…We lacked for nothing & only reached out to them to inquire if we could “do it again” next year!!!!
5 Stars since Vrbo stops there!!!!!

Wouldn't come back
Let me start by saying we rent a house every summer at LOTO for a large group (12+). This was our worst house ever.
First the pros: On site boat ramp is convenient. Neighborhood was relatively quiet - a lot of people working on their houses with noise during our stay but that can happen anywhere. Cove isn't very deep and gets some boat traffic waves but was fine. House was clean, beds were comfortable, driveway has good parking. Not a lot of stairs is nice. Grass area was nice.
For the bad... Well, I'll just start with the owner. He lives next door, which we've experienced before but we were surprised at how intrusive he was compared to past owners. He came over one day with a plumber - the second grass area is a septic drain field. Some of group was on the dock, some inside. He came and told our dock crew that the plumber would be going in and out the basement. I explained to him that my husband was in a meeting for at least the next 20 minutes in a basement bedroom and could not be disturbed. His response was "well that's going to be a problem. It's going to smell in their real quick. He'll come running out." ...... Uhm. Excuse me? You gave us NO warning, and then do nothing to delay the work, just tell us that's a problem and continue on with the work??
Luckily, whatever the plumber did to the septic field did not cause it to stink inside (much). However that part of the grass area stunk for the rest of the week - well it stunk all week but was worse after the plumber visit for a few days.
He came back a couple of days later to retrieve the jet ski he stores on the dock. That's cool. But he brought his lab with him - we love dogs. Not a problem. But then he left on the jet ski to go play in the lake and just left his dog on the dock with us! The dog barked and whined on the dock with us while Jim was off playing around. Eventually we coaxed him off the dock and he left.
More bad: House is quirky and is obviously DIY'd. Lots of things don't make sense about it. Deck rails on upper deck are dangerously low - I'm surprised it's legal but maybe it is. Slats are too wide - as a mid size adult, I could fit through some of them. We couldn't let our toddler roam on deck. WIFI advertised that you can't stream. Really, it's unusable. Couldn't even find the network most of the time. House is not equipped for large group - not enough large pans, no seating in any one area for a group, have to split up to eat. Would never visit this house again.

I'm sorry to hear you are disappointed with your stay. I've never experienced a renter upset that a service repair worker shouldn't be allowed in to solve a problem (plumbing). The plumber did appear unannounced but that sometime happens at the lake. Fortunately the problem got resolved quickly.
As far as the rails on the upper deck, I'm very confused. You can review the photos to see that the decking and rails are professionally done and there are no safety concerns.
I've rented this home for almost 20 years and my reviews have been excellent so I hope prospective renters take this into account. Thank you.
This is a good size house for a family with 5 bedrooms so everyone had their own space. The neighborhood was quiet. It is on the south side of the lake near Camdenton so we were close to Bridal cave and Ha Ha Tonka state park which we enjoyed. Boat rental was near as well.
College friends celebrating 45 years of fun. The decks and the dock were great for chilling out, soaking in the autumn sun, fishing off the dock, laughing and catching up. Kitchen is adequate, plenty of sleeping space. Great tv for watching Mizzou almost win.
Enjoyed the quiet cove, but close enough by boat to try out a couple of on the lake restaurants and bars. Lovely home and the on line listing is accurate. Good communication with host. Would stay again.
