Beautiful Stone Built Villa in Stunning Location

Villa les Hauts is a luxury cut stone property built in the traditional style, on a small exclusive prize-winning development overlooking the old village of Durban Corbieres in the Languedoc region of Southern France.

Durban itself has a food store (which includes the all important bakery for those morning croissants), a bank, a bar/restaurant and a petrol station .The region is renown for its great wine, castles, beaches, beautiful scenery, great walks and cycle rides.

We offer flexible change over days (not including Mid July - End of August) to enable visitors to make the most of mid-week flight deals. Upon arrival at the villa guests are met by our good friend Jeanne who is English but speaks fluent French. She has worked with our family for many years and will help with any queries you have, and can also book a restaurant for your first night.

The accommodation consists of two double and one twin bedroom, one en suite shower/WC and a further bathroom and WC, living/dining room and kitchen, private heated swimming pool, sun deck, barbecue and terraces for relaxing outdoor dining. The house is furnished very comfortably to a high standard by a professional interior designer. There is Satellite TV Freesat, DVD player and DVD library.In the kitchen there is a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher, micro wave oven and conventional electric oven and hob.

Outside seating for 6 in a sheltered terrace, with a landscaped garden with additional seating areas and views of the medieval Cathar Castle of Durban Corbieres. Teak deck with swimming pool.

Special features: Electric heating in each room. Handicap accessible. Swimming pool.

Well equipped villa in a great location

The villa is clean and comfortable, and is in a great location with lots to do nearby. Domaine des Pins is a very quiet street but within walking distance of the local amenities. We enjoyed sitting by the pool in the afternoon sunshine!

Great house in beautiful area

We really enoyed our stay in Durban-Corbieres. The couple that managed the house and pool are great people that made sure the pool was kept clean and informed us about things happening around the village. Pool was nice and private and location is really beautiful. The only comment to make is that some of the furniture is ready to be replaced.

Perfect villa for rest and relaxation

The villa is absolutely lovely inside and out with the pool right there in front of you. Big patio doors provide proper inside-outside living with a nice sized and well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed a daily walk down the hill to the Boulanger and the local Supermarket which had everything we needed. A short drive away were several castles to explore. Other towns are within easy reach. It was always lovely to return and just jump in the pool. High ceilings in the villa kept the place cool and the terrace at the back with the table was a lovely place to eat lunch. We were very well looked after by Adam, the owner by email and Jeanne and Dave on site. Overall I would highly recommend to anyone but especially to families. Our girls absolutely loved it!

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Zufahrt der Anlage (10 Häuser) ist mit einem Tor mit Sicherheitscode geschützt, so dass wir uns sicher gefühlt haben und Nachts auch die Außentüren bedenkenlos öffnen konnten.Das Haus ist sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet. Bei Fragen oder Hilfe stehen Herr und Frau Robinson unmittelbar zu Seite (24/7) und helfen. Wir haben unseren Urlaub genossen und können das Haus sehr weiter empfehlen.

Why they chose this property

Durban Corbieres is in the well known languedoc wine region of France and is set in a hilly area with beautiful views and marked walking routes . In Durban Corbieres there is a Cathar Castle on the hill in the old part of the village.

The small river runs through the middle of the village - separating the old from the new. There are several local wine and honey producers from whom you can buy local produce. The region does have a Spanish influence both in language and cuisine. There are festivals in Durban and the surrounding villages in August and before Christmas.

Younger visitors - there is a wild life park at Sigean (20 mins) and aqua sports on the Mediterranean coast ( Le Franqui beach 25 mins)

For the adventurous there is water skiing, wakeboarding and other water sports at a number of the coastal resorts, or Skiing , white water rafting, canyoning etc in the Pyrenees as well as many thermal spas.

Cycling is very popular here also - due to the lovely winding roads through the vineyards and hills.
