About this property
Magnificent presbytery of the 17th century, charming residence.
At the heart of the circuit of the Romanesque churches of Cluny Brionnais, this former 17th century presbytery restored with taste will seduce you with its charm and its various and varied amenities. At the top of a hill in a quiet village with a clear view of the Beaujolais mountains to the east and the mountains of the Madeleine to the west, alternate on eight hectares, a terraced garden, tennis surrounded by roses , a pool with poolhouse and ambulatory, a yoga room, a ping pong room, a priest's garden in the shade of the church, a path around the tennis to play petanque. In the house with the staircase of stone in pitch of screw, a room of billiards shelters a splendid French billiard. A large kitchen (gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, fridge-freezer), a laundry room (washing machine, dryer), a large living room with antique tiles, four bedrooms, four bathrooms and five toilets complete this exceptional interior.
A garden lounge around a stone table on the terrace, and another in front of the house, under its big parasol, for a drink, lunch or dinner in front of a splendid panorama.
The surroundings are rich in cultural and sporting possibilities: lovers of old stones will love the Clunisian churches and the castle of Saint Hughes Semur, history lovers will discover the remains of the first inhabitants of the region (teeth and mammoth tusks discovered during from the construction of the Iguerande railway, polished porphyry axes 50,000 years old, flints etc.) at the Musée Déchelette de Roanne, athletes will discover the Iguerande greenway at Paray-le-Monial, the Roanne golf course, the walks of the green ballades of Brionnais, the canoe-kayak on the Loire, the horse in the clubs, and the walks along the Loire or on the towpath of the Canal de Roanne in Digoin, which also offers meal cruises and boat rentals. And the curious will learn all about the Charolais and its emblematic breed of light-colored cattle, notably at the market of Saint-Christophe en Brionnais, which since the 14th century has gathered cattle breeders and buyers, by mutual agreement every Wednesday from 'dawn.
