Authentic alpine chalet in Chamonix Valley, next to Prarion piste, Les Houches.

Chalet Altitude has direct access to the Prarion piste, with many trails nearby from the back garden and the maisonneuve chairlift is a 5 minute walk away. You can ski downhill to the Prarion ski station, ESF, ski hire shops, cafe and bus stop in 3 minutes. Access to the Bellevue (Kandahar) piste is a few minutes walk downhill..

All services are within easy reach.

Great for families and individuals! Sleeps up to 6 but often used for smaller numbers of guests.

The views from the chalet are superb...

The maisonneuve chairlift connects with a second chairlift, taking you to the Prarion summit .A great choice of mountain cafes and restaurants.
The Prarion Gondola takes you directly to the Prarion Summit ( Plateau).

If you are here to just relax, there are many places of interest to explore and also shops, restaurants and cafes in the vicinity..

The chalet decor is in keeping with the region.
WiFi is complimentary.
A large flat screen TV.

Chalet Altitude can accommodate 6 adults or 1 or 2 couples with children. The large oak dining table seats up to 8 ( if you have visitors).
A discount may apply to 3 or less guests on enquiry.

The lounge area seats 6 and the sofa bed is a double.
The TV is flat screen. Complimentary WiFi. A large selection of DVDs, books and board games.

There is also a wood burning fire for winter and you can purchase firewood in the village. First night's firewood supplied for you.
Patio doors allow access to the large dining balcony from the lounge area or from exterior stairs.
The balcony has table and chairs. Sun Parasol.

The kitchen is fully equipped with large stove and oven, microwave, small oven/grill, fridge and dishwasher. Cooking utensils, cutlery and dishes are supplied.
Coffee makers ,coffee grinder, teapot, toaster, fondue and raclette provided.

An additional large fridge and a small deep freeze are located downstairs.

Three bedrooms upstairs, two with double beds and the third with two single and one sofa bed.
The large bathroom is located on the same floor has a bath ( with hand shower), a bidet, a washbasin and a toilet.

The main floor of the chalet also has a shower/utility room with washbasin, shower enclosure and washer and drier machines. A separate toilet. Patio doors to balcony and steps leading outside.

The ground floor has storage cupboards for skis, boards an boots and outdoor wear.
The garage is used for storage by owner.

There are 2 flat exterior areas for sitting , dining or barbequing. Barbeque provided and outdoor furniture in front chalet shed.

Parking in Private Drive.
A car is usually essential ( families with children) for most guests as the property is located uphill in Les Houches. A 30 minute walk from the Prarion Bus Stop Ski station. Only 15 minutes downhill on foot though...
A taxi can be hired to take you uphill from the train station or bus stop.

Groceries can be delivered free of charge to the chalet from Contact Carrefour supermarket ( located behind the Tourist Office) or ordered online from Super-U . Both in les Houches.
You will have magnificent views from all directions, with the Mont Blanc Massif to the right of the chalet front...
You can sip your aperitif from the balcony while admiring the view of the Chamonix Valley and the Mountain Range..

Authentic chalet

A great rustic authentic Alps chateau. Host was very gracious and responsive to every question. The views out all the windows were absolutely spectacular. Was a wonderful Xmas vacation

Cosy and well equipped chalet with magnificent views

Perfect chalet for our first family skiing holiday, very close to the slopes, plenty of space for a family of six, lovely views of the mountains. Away from the noise of the village but close enough to get to shops, ski lifts , ski hire shops and restaurants within five minutes. We very much enjoyed our stay in Chalet Altitude

Cozy chalet with amazing views

We loved our stay at Janet’s chalet. It was very warm and cozy, had everything we needed and the most amazing views. There are ski areas very close and Les Houches ski area was perfect for us & kids as beginners. Our kids also had hours of fun on the sleds provided at the chalet! Janet was very responsive to our questions and any issues we had were quickly resolved. Thank you for such an amazing Christmas in the alps!

Nice stay!

We had a lovely stay. Everything we needed was available. Janet provided us with lots of information in advance. A broken dishwasher was repaired immediately. Unfortunately there was no snow and we could not ski directly from the front door. But the gondola of Les Houches and higher ski areas nearby were good and easy to reach by car.

Nous avons passés un magnifique séjour dans le chalet de Janet dont la gentillesse et la disponibilité sont à souligner!Le chalet est très bien situé (40m de la fin de la piste bleue"aillouds" qui ramène en bas du Prarion) : une fois la voiture garée dans la pente( un peu raide) vous n'y touchez plus! les courses peuvent se faire à pied pour les plus courageux.La vue du salon et de la chambre parentale est superbe.Tout le reste du chalet est cosy et fonctionnel.Les enfants ont adoré le côté" autonomie" avec le système de boîte à clef..Bref, si on rajoute que le prix est tout à fait raisonnable comparé aux autres chalets de Maisonneuve, il n'y a que du positif!Merci Janet, à bientôt!

Excellentes vacances.

Excellentes vacances dans un chalet indépendant très au calme, entouré de son terrain, avec une vue exceptionnelle, face à l'Aiguille du Midi, et plusieurs départs de belles randos à proximité. Chalet un peu ancien, mais avec tous les équipements souhaités et très propre. Janet est très à l'écoute et nous avons pu arriver et partir selon nos horaires.

très bon séjour

Le chalet était tout à fait conforme aux photos et à la description. Nous avons passé à 6 (3 adultes et 3 enfants) un séjour très confortable. Le chalet est bien équipé, très chaleureux et les literies confortables. Nous avons passé des soirées et des nuits très calmes. Le chalet est tout proche de la piste "Aillouds" qui descend vers le bas des télécabine. Mais en cas de neige peu abondante (comme c'était le cas pour nous en mars) la piste est fermée et il faut donc prévoir d'aller en voiture à la télécabine à 2,5 km de route

gemütliches Chalet mit Bergsicht

Ein sehr schönes Bergchalet mit viel Platz! Das Chalet ist gemütlich eingerichtet, die Küche sehr gut ausgestattet, alles wunderbar hergerichtet, wenn man ankommt. Wir waren zu sechst dort und jeder hat immer einen Ort gefunden, es sich nach dem Skifahren gemütlich zu machen. Durch die zwei Badezimmer gibt es auch dort keinen Stau, sehr komfortabel! Der Kamin und der Balkon sehen auch sehr gemütlich aus (aber wir haben Beides nicht genutzt). Es gibt jede Menge (englische) Bücher und DVDs, falls Unterhaltung erwünscht ist. Für Skischuhe, Helme... gibt es im Eingangsbereich im Untergeschoss genügend Platz. Uns hat auch das warme Wasser immer gereicht. Man hat von allen Zimmern aus eine tolle Aussicht auf die Berge ringsum und wenn genügend Schnee liegt, kann man vor der Haustür die Ski anschnallen und durch die Grundstücke ca. 30 m bis auf die Piste fahren (oder die Ski tragen und das Stück laufen). Über die Piste auf Ski braucht man ca.2 Minuten bis zur Gondel Prarion und zum Bäcker - die Serpentinenstraße runter wären es mehrere Kilometer zu laufen und bis zum nächsten Supermarkt, der am anderen Ende des Ortes liegt, wäre es eine Wanderung von mehreren Stunden (Auto dringend empfohlen!). Es gibt einen Linienbus (Nr.7), der sowohl zur Station Prarion als auch Bellevue und Supermarkt fährt. Die Auffahrt, wo das Auto parken soll, ist wirklich sehr steil und schmal - es erfordert Mut, dort zu parken, aber eine andere Möglichkeit gibt es nicht. Wir waren sehr zufrieden!

We hebben een zalige familietijd gehad in deze mooie gezellige chalet . Bij sneeuw kan je perfect vanuit de tuin naar de eitjes toe skiën. Jan is een supercharmante en vriendelijke dame die onze kinderen die vroeger dan ons aankwamen , supervriendelijk onthaalde . We komen erg graag terug.

Le descriptif du chalet est conforme à la réalité. Janet et Leigh Anne répondent rapidement aux sollicitations. Les informations reçues sont précises et claires. Le chalet est très agréable à vivre, situé au calme pour se reposer et très bien équipé si on veut cuisiner. La vue face à l'Aiguille du Midi est magnifique. Les commerces sont à 20 min à pied et le centre bourg à 30 min à pied. Nous recommandons.

Ideal dehour en famille

Nous avons passé un excellent sejour dans le chalet de Janet. Emplacement ideal proche de Chamonix et tous les sites d'exceptions de la vallée. Une vue magnifique sur l'aiguille du midi en profitant de la terrasse. Chalet tres bien équipée, rien ne manque. On s'y sent comme chez soit. Une tres bonne adresse à conserver et à conseiller.

Chalet très bien placé ! Départ skis au pieds à 30 mètres environ ! Piste du Prarion ! Chalets 3 niveaux En bas pour chausser et s habiller avant de partir skier au premier le salon très convivial avec cuisine à l américaine et au dessus les 3 chambres ! Un super séjour !

Un petit chalet charmant mais mal ordonné.

Très bonne accueil et toutes les informations nous ont été communiquées par la propriétaire. La vue est splendide et le chalet est au pieds des pistes. Et le prix est tout à fait correct. Points positifs : chalet très bien situé et mignon mais il pourrait être plus ordonné. Points à améliorés : le chalet est mal ordonné. Il y des prospectus publicitaires en grand nombre qui sont expirés, dès cassette VHS sur toutes les étagères. Et une télé que nous n’avons pas pu mettre en fonction. Difficile de s’y retrouver avec la vaisselle éparpillée dans des recoins de la salle de bain et d’autres meubles. La salle de bain du bas n’est pas visible dans l’annonce. Elle a une petite douche. Le robinet de la cuisine est mal fixé. Le lave vaisselle ne lave pas bien même si nous la rinçons au préalable. Et pour l’eau chaude ! A 6 c’est un problème. Nous devons prendre une douche extrêmement rapide pour que tout le monde puisse avoir de l’eau chaude. Alors quand on arrive d’une journée de ski c’est fort désagréable. Car c’est un ballon d’eau chaude donc le dernier n’a pas d’eau chaude.

Excellent séjour dans un chalet agréable et disposant d'un magnifique panorama

Excellent Noël en famille à la montagne. Même si les conditions sanitaires ne nous ont pas permis de skier et de profiter pleinement de la situation du chalet, il faut souligner qu'il est idéalement placé car très proche de la piste qui mène au Prarion. Pas besoin de voiture pour aller chercher les pistes. Mais nécessaire tout de même pour faire ses courses. La route d'accès est relativement pratique et déneigée assez rapidement. Le chalet est agréable et parfaitement équipé, ce qui témoigne de l'attachement de sa propriétaire à tout mettre en oeuvre pour que les vacanciers s'y sentent bien. La vue sur la vallée de Chamonix est superbe. Et la cheminée fonctionne parfaitement. Seuls hics, un robinet de cuisine défectueux et l'impossibilité de garer plus d'une voiture en bas du chemin d'accès au chalet, sauf à avoir un gros 4x4 (la pente est raide). Pour le robinet, il convient cependant de souligner que la propriétaire ne pouvait être présente avant notre arrivée du fait de la crise covid. C'est bien dommage de n'avoir pu la rencontrer car les échanges ont été très sympathiques. Merci Janet

Wonderful stay in a good equipped chalet with beautiful sorroundings

I spend several months each year at the chalet but It is a pleasure to have guests to stay there , either summer or winter and who appreciate it .
