About this property
The Chapel. A large grade 2 listed property, perfect for families and groups.
The Chapel is a large 3 bedroom self-catering holiday property, situated on the edge of a coastal village, and within 4 miles of lots of award winning sandy beaches. The property can sleep up to 13 guest in its 3 bedrooms, with the addition of three portable beds and 2 leather chesterfield bed settee.
On the ground floor of The Chapel, the 40 foot lounge houses a full size American pool table, a large television with free view, 4 comfortable sofas, (one being a sofa bed) as well as a baby grand piano. There is also a Wii, an Xbox 360 and several board games for guests to use.
A beautiful walnut staircase leads up to a spacious open plan kitchen/dining room, which was designed for families and entertaining. The 6-foot oak dining table seats up to 12 guests, and with a very sociable breakfast bar so the cook doesn't get left out of the fun, making hosting any occasion a pleasure. Full length windows overlooking the secluded gardens and entrance, a chandelier and subdued lighting under the units, create a perfect ambiance for a relaxing evening.
The utility room off of the kitchen has an additional fridge, a freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer, and of course another toilet (you can't have too many of those!)
The master bedroom is on the first floor. It has a high ceiling, chandelier, a king size four poster bed and sumptuous burgundy carpet. Full sized patio windows overlook the secluded front courtyard and garden. Reclaimed 8 foot doors lead into a characterful well equipped en suite. The room oozes romance and luxury. However, we've now added a leather Chesterfield sofa bed just in case you have to bring the kids!
But, if you need to bring even more family, they won't be disappointed with the two further double bedrooms on the second floor. Both have high ceilings, exposed beams, flint walls and windows with far reaching views.
All bedrooms are fully equipped and have their own en suite, and they all have a television with free view and inbuilt DVD player, plus a hair dryer. Both top floor bedrooms have a very comfortable (according to our guests), 6-foot zip link beds with a mattress topper, so you should sleep like a baby! These beds can also be divided into two single 3 foot beds, and there are 3 additional portable beds for even more guests.
To the rear of The Chapel is a private secluded garden, containing a specially created dining alcove in flint, stone and brick. It now has inbuilt seating, hand made tables and a roof with outdoor lighting which is lovely when it gets dark with the colours changing. It's the perfect place whatever the weather, to enjoy a relaxing meal, barbecue, or just chilling with friends and a relaxing drink. Also currently we have got a hot tub hired from Goodwins in Margate. Guests hired it themselves, and then the following guests too, so Goodwins have left it with us temporarily in case new guests would also like to hire it.
Please contact me for further details if you are interested in hiring it too.
There is guaranteed parking in the secluded court yard area suitable for several cars, and we now have an electric charging point for electric and hybrid vehicles.

About the host
Hosted by Suzanne Box
My husband and I have been married happily for almost 38 years. We have 4 children with 2 still living at home, but the others only moved locally and regularly come back to raid the fridge! And they still bring their friends with them! I must admit we do enjoy it.
Our house was turned into a farm house in the 18th Century, but since moving here we started using part of it as self-catering holiday accommodation. The first part of the building we used was previously the servants quarters for a servant named Annie, who used to live here many years ago. Sadly no servant came with the house, so it's just me!
Annie's Cottage proved to be quite popular, so we then decided to do the same with the cottage next to it called Well House. It used to be a well house and pump room, and was converted into living accommodation about 100 years ago, when the 200 foot well which is now in the kitchen was capped. That too became very popular, so in 2009 we decided to convert The Chapel which only had 2 bedrooms and no kitchen, into a 3 bedroom house, with all bedrooms having their own ensuite, and a kitchen on the first floor.
The Chapel guests now, instead of being single people, couples or small families, are now large families, groups, and those celebrating special occasions, or wanting large family holidays. Some guests even hire all three properties and bring the whole family for a special occasion which has been lovely to see.
We run the properties as a family which is great working from home. We really enjoy hosting new guests, and many return each year and have become friends. We take great satisfaction in making the properties as nice as we can, so that our guests get as much out of the experience of staying here as possible, and that is our main motivation. It's hard work but very rewarding, and we never get tired of seeing what else we can do, and of seeing our lovely guests enjoy the properties. It's a lovely place to live, and a pleasure to share.

Why they chose this property
The Chapel is a beautiful building, in a great location. It is peaceful and secluded, and yet close to the coast. The large grounds allow you to have fun with the family in a relaxing atmosphere, and there is so much to do in the local area, whatever time of year, and whatever your age. And sometimes it's nice just to do nothing and relax, and The Chapel and this location is perfect for both.
What makes this property unique
The major benefit of The Chapel is the size of the lounge. Being 40 foot long it comfortably houses a full size American pool table and 4, three seater sofas, which means that a large family or group can all be in the same room at the same time, having fun or relaxing. And with the open plan kitchen on the first floor, the layout being focused toward entertaining, it's just perfect for hosting whatever the occasion. Plus, with having an ensuite in every bedroom and an extra toilet in the utility room, it makes sharing for large groups really easy.
