Casa do Sobral was ideal for our family holiday

The house was perfect for our needs - very comfortable, spacious and with the most beautiful garden and accompanying, very private and much appreciated swimming pool. The hosts, Cristina and Edouardo, were delightful, attentive and very welcoming. The village was small and peaceful and very well located for a range of visits to nearby spots - the wonderful beach at Foz D'Arelho, Obidos, Caldas - with its fantastic ceramics and cycling museum - and, a bit further afield, Sintra, Cascais - home of the stunning Paula Rego gallery - and Lisbon.

Beautiful, spacious, nostalgic family home with a large, 1000m² "secret garden" in the heart of a hilltop village. Lovely walks in the immediate area, and beaches nearby. Sobral de Lagoa is peacefully situated off the beaten track and proved to be a vibrant, close-knit community that made us feel welcome.Owners Eduardo and Cristina genuinely ensured that everything went smoothly and any issues were resolved immediately.

Villa near Óbidos

Lovely villa with an amazing pool and garden, the garden had lots of little books and wonderful established plants. The house was an old eclectic mix of rooms and pieces of furniture and big enough for our two families. It was really great to walk to the local shop (2 mins) for a coffee / cake and any essentials we’d missed in the big shop.

Dieses Haus befindet sich einige Minuten entfernt von Óbidos. Ein kleiner Laden im Örtchen bietet trotzdem alles Nötige zur Selbstversorgung. Durch Pool und Garten bietet es Entspannung und viel Ruhe (an das Schlagen der Kirchturmuhr nebenan gewöhnt man sich irgendwann;)) Das Mobiliar ist zum Teil der Zeit entrückt und wahrscheinlich sogar noch original erhalten. Sehr interessant! Es war alles sehr sauber und die Gastgeber super nett und engagiert. Vielen Dank!

Old World Charm - Living History

Cristina and Eduardo have lovingly preserved and restored their family home creating an authentic Portuguese experience for the guests. This large and multi-roomed home is comfortable, clean and steeped in family history. Located near Óbidos in the village of Sobral da Lagoa, the house is a great location to enjoy the surrounding area or just stay hang around to relax in the lovely garden and pool. We enjoyed walking around the village, hearing the church bells ring on the hour and soaking up the real Portugal. The little store around the corner is worth a visit. The store sells local produce and serves up excellent coffee and lots atmosphere. Cristina and Eduardo were friendly and shared the history of their family and home which was very interesting. We recommend the house, local and hosts without reservation.

Hidden treasure

This home was a highlight in our trip...a true, authentic taste of Portugal. Christina & Eduardo were gracious and welcoming - concerned with our every need from the amenities in the villa to ensuring we had all the information we needed to experience the surrounding areas. It's a very comfortable house with washing machine, dishwasher, and all equipments you need for cooking. And there is also a barbecue. And of course a swimming pool with deckchairs We met a heavily laden burrow coming up the street in the delightful village. All the surrounding areas are well worth the time you should take to explore...exceptional in every way - true Portugal - the Nazare beach and village was unforgettable. Many thanks to Christina and Eduardo for sharing this treasure with us.

Charmante maison confortable et bien équipée

Cette maison traditionnelle était parfaite pour nous (2 adultes + enfants de 3, 9 et 11 ans). Elle est bien équipée, confortable et pratique. La piscine est très agréable et a ravi les enfants (et les grands). Le jardin est un havre de paix réservant des surprises tous les jours par la variété des plantes et fleurs. Cristina et Eduardo forment un couple charmant qui a été aux petits soins pour s'assurer que l'on passe un bon séjour. Un grand merci à eux ! La région est magnifique et il nous tarde de revenir ! L'accès à la piscine est sécurisé par des murs et une barrière. Le village est calme et dispose d'une appréciable petite épicerie.

nice villa in quiet village

The owners of this property are lovely people and very helpful, welcoming and extremely caring. The house is spacious and has many rooms, it was actually too big for the 4 of us, however the interior would improve in our opinion if the furniture would be updated. The outdoor area and garden and pool are great. The church bells are loud (across the street). The kids loved praia do Foz do Arelho the best (water freezing cold though).There's plenty of things to do & visit in the surrounding area.

12 wonderful days in a peaceful place.

Cristina and Eduardo were wonderful and helpful hosts. Their historic and beautiful property is located in Sobral da Lagoa small village located about 4km from the Obidos. We used local transportation ( mostly buses and occasional the taxi) to get around.The village has a general store / cafe where we could get all our necessary supplies and mix with the friendly locals.The house in Sobral is beautifully maintained, and the garden setting, buildings and pool allowed us to have a most a restful and enjoyable holiday. Although Obidos is the most noted place in the area, we particularly enjoyed Caldas da Rainha, with it's history,daily market, shops and great restaurants. Formidable!

Cristina et Eduardo forment un couple charmant et sympathique. Quel accueil chaleureux et calme ils nous ont donné! La maison contient un grand nombre de pièces, toutes bien équipées. Tout était bien entretenu et propre. La douche est très agréable. Nous avons vraiment apprécié les serviettes épaisses ainsi que les bouteilles d'eau dans le frigo et sur chaque table de nuit. Le jardin nous à donné beaucoup de moments de plaisir et de détente. Les fleurs, les arbres, la pelouse et la piscine: vraiment un petit paradis. La maison est située dans le centre du village, près de l'église et du supermarché. Ce magasin est petit mais vend beaucoup de produits et du bon pain frais. Nous avons passé une semaine magnifique dans Casa do Sobral et peut-être nous y retournerons un jour!

Merveilleux séjour en famille

Nous rentrons de notre séjour absolument ravis. La maison de Cristina et Eduardo est extraordinaire, remplie d'histoire familiale, grande, bien équipée, impeccablement tenue et très agréable à vivre. Le jardin, avec ses arbres fruitiers et ses fleurs, est un petit paradis. La piscine a fait le bonheur de nos enfants et le nôtre aussi ! Le petit village est joli, avec ses maisons anciennes et ses belles vues sur la campagne environnante. La petite épicerie-café-boulangerie permet de trouver tout ce dont on a besoin et une petite camionnette passe régulièrement avec la pêche du jour ! Depuis Sobral da Lagoa, nous avons pu facilement partir à la découverte de toutes les richesses de la région, plages, lagune, monastères, musées, sans oublier Lisbonne, à une petite heure de route. Cristina et Eduardo sont aussi une mine d'informations sur les lieux à découvrir. Notre seul regret est de ne pas avoir pu rester plus longtemps ! Un immense merci à nos hôtes de leur accueil chaleureux dans cet endroit merveilleux.

Beau séjour au Portugal!

Nous avons aimé cette belle maison ancienne et surtout son jardin luxuriant et plein de charme. Malheureusement le temps nous a empêché d'en profiter pleinement. La maison et très bien placée pour rayonner autour et nous avons visité plusieurs sites magnifiques dont Obidos, Alcobaça, Tomar, Nazaré et Coimbra. Nous avons adoré les "Pastels de Nata" acheté au café du village pour le petit-déjeuner! Merci à Cristina et Eduardo pour votre chaleureux accueil!

tres bon sejour

nous avons passé un tres bon sejour en famille avec nos 2 enfants. le village est tres (ou trop) calme mais à deux pas d'obidos en voiture . les plages et le lac sont proches aussi. la maison typique est tres agreable , 4 chambres avec un beau jardin, presque trop grande pour nous .Le petit bemol: l'eglise qui sonne tous les matins juste en face, mais cela nous a finalement peu dérangé. donc à conseiller pour du repos et découvrir obidos et sa region ! les hotes sont tres acceuillants et sympatiques

SUPERBE LOCATION DE VACANCES

Ancienne maison avec beaucoup de charme. La piscine est évidement un grand plus surtout lorsque il y a des enfants. La proximité des commerces est un grand avantage. L'accueil des propriétaires est charmants.

UNE SPLENDIDE MAISON AVEC UN VRAI STYLE PORTUGAIS

Voici une belle et vieille maison qui a gardé son style dans un village typiquement portugais et très calme. Nous avons apprécié et surpris par le charme authentique de cette demeure à laquelle on n'imaginait pas tout l'espace qu'elle comporte. Les enfants ont adoré la piscine mais il ne faut pas oublié les petits jardins bien entretenus. Nous recommandons vivement cette maison où nous avons été très bien accueillis par Cristrina et Eduardo et sommes prêts à y retourner.

une belle maison, bien située

Une grande maison ancienne dans une propriété typique et spacieuse, au coeur d'un petit village très bien placé entre l'océan, le beau village d'Obidos et Caldas. Suffisamment proche de l'autoroute pour rendre facile les déplacements sur les autres sites magnifiques du centre du Portugal. Une piscine bien agréable. Authenticité portugaise

nous avons passé 2 semaines dans cette belle demeure. Depaysement total, authenticité au rendez vous... une vraie maison de caractère !! Ce bien ne s'adresse pas aux personnes qui recherchent la modernité, mais plutôt à celles qui recherchent la tranquilité, le calme, tout en étant proches des sites à visiter. Le seul bémol étant l'eau fraiche de la piscine... mais piscine quand même !! Je remercie Christina et Eduardo pour leur gentillesse et leur disponibilté. Des gens entiers, comme on aimerait en rencontrer plus souvent.

Parfaitement conforme aux attentes

Belle et chaleureuse propriété très bien équipée avec magnifique jardin et belle grande et agréable piscine.Cette propriété favorise un séjour agréable dans une belle région du Portugal. Muito bom , tudo perfeito

Foi uma estadia 5 estrelas . Os donos muito simpaticos . So tive pena de não poder ter aproveitado melhor a casa e a piscina . Pois viajava com um grupo de amigos e apenas ficamos uma noite . Mas todos adoraram o sitio e ja estamos a pensar em voltar mas com mais tempo para visitar a zona . Muito bom recomento a todos . Obrigado

Une superbe maison bleue

La maison fut en tous points conforme à nos attentes, voire au-delà. Nous y avons, de plus, ce qui ne gache rien, reçu un accueil extrêmement sympathique des propriétaires. Située à quelques kilomètres de la mer (voiture indispensable), dans un cadre absolument privatif au centre d’un village charmant, cette maison a été l’occasion de vacances apaisantes entre amis. C’est avec plaisir si l’occasion se représente que nous y retournerons.
