Lovely, as advertised but strong smell of damp

The cottage was as advertised and it was really spacious. It had a games table with ping pong, air hockey, Poole etc which was a big hit with our 5 and 9 year olds but there was one big problem-it smelt really strongly of damp!! Although I didn't find any actual damp in the house. The owner put plug in air fresheners in and it smelt much better but the damage was done for me so we moved properties. The worktops needed wiping over but the cottage was clean, i've found that standards of cleanliness tend to be higher in hotels than cottages.
