About this property
Casa Chiesa: Charming Cottage on beautiful estate in Tuscany
'Casa Chiesa', named after the 17th century church that sits opposite, is close to many family-friendly activities, the art and culture of the Renaissance Tuscan cities, fabulous inexpensive restaurants, and the coast is only 25 miles away with miles of beaches. Casa Chiesa is on a large family estate dominated by the 15th century 'Villa Padronale'. You will love the space and charm of the newly renovated flat, its setting in the Tuscan countryside with stunning views, and its convenient location in the Maremma. On three sides it has lovely views, and close by is the semi-formal garden with wide sweeping views. The spacious and traditionally Tuscan cottage (in keeping with the rest of the estate) is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, and families. It makes a great summer base especially and is about 85sq metres.
We have many years experience in renting out our family properties. On the estate we have rented out our 6 bedroom luxury villa through the high end London agency CV Villas for nearly 3 decades. We have decided to continue this trend and have recently continued to renovate our other properties. Another two cottages available for rentals on the estate are: a 2 bedroom cottage called Casa Cavalli (6715725), and a 2 bedroom cottage called Casa Amiata (6722787).
We have a large staff on the estate who have experience in hospitality, and we can help organise some extra services/activities: station & airport pick-ups and drop-offs, private cooking lessons and help with recommending what to do and see, etc.
Check In FROM 17.00-19.30, Check Out is BY 09.30 (am), unless agreed to prior. Please note there is a surcharge of €40 for late check-ins after 19.30 as if out of work hours someone will have to be called in. Late check-ins can also be very inconvenient so to be avoided if possible.
The swimming pool belongs to the main villa and used by the agritourism - it is a private communal pool that is only shared amongst guests staying at Monteverdi. Please note that the pool is 11mx5m and has a max depth of 2.20m: there is NO lifeguard at the pool, and while the pool is fenced in, parents or guardians are responsible for keeping unattended children out, and to keep the gate locked. Guests will need to sign a responsibility/liability waiver form before use. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied and supervised at all times.
The consumption of alcohol is strictly forbidden at the pool.
The pool opening times are 8am – 6pm everyday.
The pool is opened for the summer season from the middle of June until the middle of September – the pool is not open to guests outside of this time unless agreed to with the owners.
In the local village, Paganico, there are banks, bars, a chemist, restaurants, a small train station, shops and tennis courts.
DUE TO THE NARROW ROADS, CARAVANS AND CAMPERS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE PROPERTY EVEN IF YOU HAVE RENTED A PROPERTY

Why they chose this property
The property is newly renovated (2017) but very much in keeping with both the Renaissance era estate it is on, and also with the style and standard that people expect when staying in Tuscany: in addition, it has lovely views and is very quiet. While the 100m2 apartment is traditional, it was renovated in 2017 with all the comforts one would expect: fully fitted and equipped kitchen, sitting/dining areas, comfortable beds and bed linen, bathroom with shower, clean energy pellet stove, efficient hot water supply, Wifi, TV/DVD, secure etc.
The surrounding land, which is a large estate of historical interest with stunning views, is a working estate and has woodland, farmland, olive groves and vineyards, producing a variety of produce (including olive oil which we sell).
The location, in the middle of the Maremma, is exceptional, with easy access to many famous cities, including: Siena, Montalcino, Pienza, Montelpulciano, Arezzo, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Chianti, and even Rome, while the miles of beaches are within easy short drives. Added to this are numerous activities: walks, riding, national parks, skiing (in winter), natural sulphur baths, golf, polo, tennis and much more, not to mention the fantastic and inexpensive cuisine!
