Hidden behind oak gates next to L'Eglise Notre Dame in Veniers, 3km from all the amenities of the medieval town of Loudun. La Maison Tumtum Arbre is a delightful self-catering gite for a maximum of 2 people. Sensitively renovated to a high standard, original oak beams and tuffeau stone walls combine with modern design to create an enchanting space, perfect for a comfortable retreat and base from which to explore the Loire Valley, ‘the garden of France’.
The open plan ground floor provides a well equipped, modern kitchen including a full size cooker, microwave/grill, fridge, dishwasher, crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment, complimented with granite worktops. The dining and lounge area with WiFi, satellite HD TV & DVD leads to bi-fold doors which open out onto the south facing terrace and outdoor cooking area with outdoor table and chairs. To the rear of the gite sun loungers are available in the private and exclusive gravel garden. For the winter season electric heating is installed.
A wooden staircase leads to the first floor suite which is furnished with a kingsize framed bed fitted with crisp white Egyptian cotton sheets; there is a dressing table with mirror, hairdryer, wardrobe and a sofa. The ensuite shower room has a rainhead shower cubicle, washbasin and toilet. Towels for indoor and outdoor use are provided. The suite has wooden floors and a feature stone wall.
Our 'Paradise' garden is a formal garden with gentle fountain and an arbour were guests can relax......read a book.....drink a glass of wine....
We now have our own small craft brewery onsite, 'Thirsty Steves' has been brewing artisan beer since 2020. Traditionally brewed using all natural ingredients.
