About this property
Lovely 5 star Countryside Cottage close to the famous Suffolk Heritage Coast.
A lovely, renovated 200 year old period country cottage situated next to a Grade 1 listed hSaxon Church in the historic rural Suffolk town of Bruisyard, near Framlingham & Saxmundham.
Ideal for birdwatching, walking, touring Suffolk or just relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet.
Aldeburgh, Southwold & the Suffolk Heritage Coast including RSPB Minsmere are around 20 mins away by car.
The cottage can sleep up to 5 people (4 comfortably - 5 can be a squeeze!) & one well behaved adult dog! Beds 1 & 2 can both be set up as doubles or 2 singles.
There are several excellent food and drink pubs within 5-10 minutes drive.
Ideal for short breaks or longer stays, romantic trips, country days out and cosy nights in! This is a delightful three bedroom cottage (two double bedrooms and one single bedroom).
We can also provide a cot and high chair on request for little ones.
There is a small garden to the front with lovely countryside views & a pretty rear garden with shrubs, lawn & BBQ area - perfect for a relaxing glass of wine or two in the warmer months.
Bruisyard is a peaceful countryside village. However if you want a change of scenery, the cottage is just 25 minutes or so from Suffolk's Heritage Coast including the lovely seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold. We are also a short distance from the world famous Snape Maltings one of the world’s leading centres of music and a visitor destination of outstanding natural beauty.
The cottage is within walking distance of Bruisyard Hall & Barn for those attending a wedding or event there.
Bruisyard is a pretty countryside village close to the River Alde with nearby villages Badingham, Rendham, Great Glemham and Sweffling all offering excellent family and dog friendly pubs with great food and drinks within a 5-10 minute drive. The same local villages also boast a village shop/post office, tea room, butchers, antique shop plus the renowned Emmetts delicatessen in Peasenhall.
The cottage is situated in a small village accessed via country lanes. The peace and quiet is amazing with very little traffic and the local countryside is a haven for wild life. The dark skies of Bruisyard are ideal for stargazing on clear nights.
You may also be able to do some celeb spotting as Ed Sheeran has a house nearby and can often be seen out and about. It is even sometimes possible to buy his cast offs at a local charity shop in Framlingham! His no.1 single 'Castle on the Hill' was written about the area and the video was filmed locally.
Bruisyard has an active local community with lots of activities and events centred around the village hall - including a Zumba class on Sunday mornings for the more energetic! Weddings and other functions are catered for at historic Bruisyard Hall & Barn which is a short walk away.
Bruisyard Church is always very welcoming to anyone wishing to attend a service there.
Famous for its medieval Castle, the nearby market town of Framlingham has a good selection of interesting shops, restaurants and public houses. The market (which has been held for centuries since about 1285) is every Tuesday & Saturday on Market Hill offering a wide variety of local produce. Amenities in Framlingham also include a supermarket, a library, a doctors' surgery, a dental surgery and a bakery.
Framlingham was also used as a major location for the BBC comedy series The Detectorists featuring Mackenzie Crook & Toby Jones.
There is also a market in Saxmundham every Wednesday. The town has a Waitrose store which offers deliveries to Bruisyard (as does the Co-op store in Framlingham).
Situated just off the A1120 tourist route, Bruisyard has good access to the Suffolk Heritage Coast with its famous RSPB Minsmere Bird Sanctuary and many coastal, heath and woodland walks, as well as the varied coastline and beautiful rivers. Also just a short drive away are the well-known coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold, the world famous Snape Maltings concert hall and the historic market town of Woodbridge on the River Deben.
Near to Woodbridge is Sutton Hoo – home of one of the most important Anglo Saxon finds of all time and now managed by The National Trust.
A little further afield lies Ipswich, the county town of Suffolk and also the Norfolk Broads can be reached quite easily by car.
