REF: 117. Altea La Nova,
This apartment has an extra large terrace with stunning views over the skyline from Benidorm
The apartment has two bedrooms, two bathrooms plus a large living room.
The kitchen is well equipped and has a dishwasher plus the luxury you have accustomed to at home.
An apartment and area ready to make your holiday an unforgettable experience.
Altea is without doubt one of the most charming towns on Spain's 'White Coast', located in the region of Alicante on the Costa Blanca. The town is just 11 kilometers north of Benidorm, yet the two resorts are worlds apart. Altea is similar to other Costa Blanca towns in that it has a new and old neighborhood. The old section is perched on top of where you will find spectacular views.
Although the resort of Altea is less than 10 miles from Benidorm, the two resorts could not be more different. Altea is a relaxing holiday destination with historic buildings, cobbled streets, and beautiful Spanish shops, restaurants and cafes.
The resort of Altea Hills is perched on a mountain side and provides breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, the old town of Altea, and on a clear day you can see the Alicante skyline which is around 45 miles away. From Altea Hills you can be on the beach within a few minutes by car. The properties in the area range from luxurious villas that are worth several million euros, to more standard two and three-bedroom apartments. Things to do and places to visit in Altea.
Altea has many attractions. The resplendent church of Nuestra Senora Del Consuelo was built in 1910 and it is a splendid example of a Mediterranean church with hand-painted, sea blue mosaic tiles.
The shopping precinct or Altea is very quaint and old-style Spanish. The shops are usually open between 10 am and 9 pm, but many shop owners will have to stay close to 2 and 4 PM.
The best way to get around Altea is on foot, as you were traveling by car. You can also take a mountain walking tour with one or several companies that specialize in guided tours.
In the main square of Altea there is a fascinating bohemian market where local artisans, artists and other sellers sell items between April and September.
Golfers will find the Altea Golf Club with other top golf courses in Spain; therefore Altea is a popular destination with golfers from all over Europe.
Although Altea has plenty of traditional bars and restaurants, and you can enjoy a different location every night of your holiday if you wish, the nightlife is now as lively as in Benidorm. However, as Benidorm is located less than 10 miles away you can easily take a taxi from your airport.
Don Cayo golf is a mountain course you can not forget with a different approche plus a good restaurant.
Rent-a-House-Spain, is offering the best holiday places possible.
======
Altea is a town located on the Mediterranean coast in the province of Alicante at about 50 kilometers north-east of the city of Alicante and 100 kilometers south of the city of Valencia. Altea has retained its character, including the absence of high-rises. The center has a modern area with many shops and a picturesque old Moorish area on a hill with steep streets, stairs and white houses. Here are many galleries and restaurants.
The coast south of Calpe would have a microclimate that winters are significantly warmer than the north of Calpe. This makes Altea and the whole area, including nearby town of Alfaz del Pi.
There are about 10 golf courses in the vicinity, the nearest is Don Cayo at Altea la Vella (1 km).
Hiking: many walks in the mountainous hinterland, but also along the beaches.
Theme Parks in Benidorm such as Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Mundomar and Aqualandia nice trips possible.
Worth a visit: Fuentes de Algar, a series of waterfalls in the river Algar at Callosa d'en Sarria, where you can visit Cactus Gardens and El Castell de Quadalest.

Our Village - Altea la Vella
There is a new and old part to the village. The old part is on a small hill with tiny streets and a lovely church. You must look inside. In the newer part of the village there is a theater, school, bars, cafes and shops, and a couple of bakers.
It only takes 4-5 minutes drive to the village and there is plenty of parking up behind the bank. There is a 9 hole golf course nearby at Club Don Cayo. Two 18-hole Jack Nicklaus designed courses at the Real de Faula at the back of Benidorm. Easy to get to the motorway but book ahead in high season. The main road through the village (4 minutes in the car to L'Olla beach) or inland to Guadaleste, one of the most visited places in the Costa Blanca. To get to the top of Guadalest Village you have to go through the big house! On the way there it is worth visiting Fonts D'Algar, a lovely waterfall. The Algar is the river that runs out to sea at Altea. Small streams from the surrounding mountains, and in the winter, following heavy rain inland, 100 meters from the town, and runs down the ravine below. This only happens once a year, but is a wonderful surprise.
Altea
Our main town is the historic sea front town of Altea with its palm lined promenade, small fishing harbor, and shops. Lots of parking here but busy. There are many restaurants along the front, but some are in the old town. A walk up through narrow cobbled streets and steps between white washed houses will bring you to the main square at the top. Here you will be greeted with a wonderful church and views down the coast to Benidorm, or back to our mountain. The evenings here in the summer are bustling, with buskers surrounding the square where you can eat out at the many restaurants. There are artists and evening craft stalls in the summer too. If you can not walk around the square, you can miss some of the cobbled streets. Tuesday morning is the vegetable market in the city, with fresh fish in the covered market, just around the corner. It's huge.
Altea nestles at the foot of the Sierra Bernia mountain range, next to the mouth of the river Algar. Many civilizations have come and gone. Iberians, Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans and Muslims all have their mark and their influence. The name of the town comes from Altahia which means, "I cure" and the name of the river means "the river of health".
There are fiestas all year round in Altea. Highlights include the Easter Carnival, the seaman's celebrations in Honor of San Lorenc, and the Castell de L 'Olla festivities with fireworks and music around 12th August, and the towns main fiestas in Honor of the Santissim Crist del Sagari and Sant Blai (Altea's patron saint), with the traditional Moros i Cristians, a mock battle between the Moors and Christians on the forth week in September. Our village Altea la Vella has its own 2 weeklong fiesta around the last week in January or early February with giant Paella, street barbeque and a candlelit procession. Nearby towns of Benidorm, Calpe, La Nucia, Alfaz, Albir, Polop all over the world.
If you are feeling energetic, beyond the villa there is a dirt track where you can get around on the ridge. Beyond that there is a walking track that will take you to the top of the mountain to a picnic area. Take good walking shoes, plenty of water, and a mobile phone. Climb up further and you will find yourself at the top of the secret valley. Watch out for dinosaurs and teradactyls on the other side. Do not do this in the heat of the day. Enjoy the beautiful smell of wild flowers, herbs and pine in the springtime. Fantastic views.
