Highly recommend this home and village for a special stay in France. We attended a wedding in a near by chateau and the location was perfect for family to stay. There was a little gated area that our grandson could great the neighborhood cat and listen to the church bells.
The kitchen was well appointed for cooking meals or enjoying breakfast from the local bakery thatthaputoutgthe neighbor

My wife and I celebrated our 51st anniversary at this amazing house in a fairytale, medieval village. We were joined by our very adult children during the stay. The house is perfect. Exactly as depicted. The village is idyllic. The owner could not be more accommodating and responsive. I can not recommend this property highly enough. Even after we departed, when I realized I left a piece of luggage behind, Andrea offered to and did send it along to us at our next VRBO rental property in northern France.

We had a great week at this property. This was our first experience with an international home rental and we couldn't have been more pleased. It was so nice to have a kitchen and laundry room at our disposal. It was quite hot in the region during our stay but the house stayed surprisingly cool by closing the shutters during the day and then reopening the house during the evening. Because of the heat we didn't really use the hot tub but the patio area is beautiful and was wonderful for dining, I can imagine that in cooler weather the hot tub would've been a highlight of the stay. We didn't cook much but the kitchen had everything we needed. The location was great for our day trips around the area, highly recommend.
Quiet, clean, spacious. All that we could have imagined. Located in a picturesque hamlet surrounded by bucolic paths.

Carlux / Medieval Castle
French country (at least to our way of thinking). All the comforts. No problems that couldn't be solved (help is very close). Lots of glasses, plates, etc. A great flow in the kitchen (we cooked all of our meals there). Couldn't have been happier.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home in Carlux during May 2019. It is as pictured, with a lovely patio, well stocked kitchen and a very large living room area. Andrea is very easy to work with and very attentive to any needs/requests. Parking is available directly in front of the home, which was also convenient. I recommend this property for anyone wishing to stay in this part of the Dordogne.

Belle vue. Cloches de l'église rythmant la journée.

Serene, charming, and comfortable
We are three seniors, who spent 9 nights at this property, located in the small village of Carlux, a 20-minute drive from Sarlat-la-Canada. Its relatively remote location might not appeal to all, but we loved it. As advertised, the home adjoins the castle wall, in the very center of the hill-top village, next to the Mairie (townhall) and a short distance from the church. There is a bakery and a small grocery store a short walk down the hill. The home is very spacious, well maintained and comfortable. It is tastefully and very completely furnished, combining antique pieces with very comfortable chairs, sofas, and beds. There is a large kitchen with a beautiful fireplace, but also an American-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and stove. The bathrooms are nice. The terrace allows for outside dining; there one can enjoy the jacuzzi while gazing upon the castle walls and the beautiful countryside. The owner and manager both provided exemplary customer service. Over the past several years, we have stayed at numerous VRBO/Homeaway properties in Europe and elsewhere. We agree that this is our favorite!
