About this property
Spectacular Ambiance & Views, Cinema, HotTub, Firepit, Gratis Solaris Garage!
Spectacular Western Ambiance, Mountain Views, Cinema, Hot Tub & Free Solaris Garage
Welcome to Highcliffe Lodge, a truly special Vail retreat set on a private acre with sweeping Gore Range views. Just five minutes from Vail Village, the property combines the character of an authentic Western mountain lodge with the comfort and amenities of a luxury home—and includes your own parking space in the Solaris garage.
What makes Highcliffe different is the experience of simply being here. The handcrafted log construction, natural stone, massive timbers, Western-inspired furnishings, fireplaces, gardens, and dramatic mountain setting create an atmosphere that feels both grand and wonderfully comfortable. Guests often tell us they enjoy the house so much that they are happy to spend a day—or an entire evening—without venturing into town.
Enjoy the Mountain Lifestyle
There are plenty of ways to settle in and enjoy the property. Relax in the hot tub beneath the stars, gather around the oversized moss-rock fire pit, or take in the Gore Range from one of the home's stone terraces.
Inside, the Western mine-shaft-inspired private cinema features 8K projection and Dolby Atmos sound, making movie night a memorable experience, or play billiards, ping pong and foos ball in our separate game room! The home also offers comfortable gathering spaces for fireside conversations, board games, family dinners, or simply relaxing after a day outdoors.
A Comfortable Home for Up to 12
Highcliffe has five bedrooms and comfortably sleeps up to 12 adults. Each room has its own character, with Old Hickory furnishings, luxury Shifman mattresses, SONY 4K TVs, large windows, and ample storage.
Three primary bedrooms offer king or queen beds and lofted areas, while two additional bedrooms are well suited for singles, teens, or children. Bathrooms feature Molton Brown toiletries, plush towels, a steam shower, and high-quality hairdryers.
The chef's kitchen is fully equipped for everything from casual breakfasts to special dinners, and a private chef can be arranged if desired. A wet bar and generous dining and living areas make the home equally suited to quiet evenings or larger gatherings.
The Grounds
The setting is one of Highcliffe's greatest attractions. The private acre includes mature aspens, perennial gardens, natural stone patios, a summer waterfall, and enormous natural boulders.
A winding masonry path leads up Highcliffe Mountain to three stone terraces with spectacular views across the Vail Valley and National Forest. They are wonderful places for morning coffee, yoga, sunset drinks, or simply enjoying the scenery.
Winter at Highcliffe
Skiing is especially convenient. Our family-owned ski rental partner is located in Vail Village next to Gondola One and our Solaris parking space. They can store rented or personal equipment slope-side for a reasonable fee, so your gear is waiting when you arrive at the mountain.
At the lodge, ski racks and boot and clothing warmers make coming home after a day on the slopes easy and comfortable.
Holidays at Highcliffe
During the holidays, the lodge becomes especially inviting, with a decorated Christmas tree, fresh wreaths, stockings by the fireplaces, and festive touches throughout the home.
Explore Vail—or Stay Home
When you're ready to explore, Vail's restaurants, shops, skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, and other outdoor activities are all close by. Gore Creek and the East Vail trails are nearby, and the East Vail Racquet Club offers tennis, a heated pool, an indoor gym, and a coffee shop for a nominal daily fee.
But you may find that Highcliffe itself becomes one of the highlights of your trip. It offers something that is increasingly hard to find: a place with enough character, comfort, and natural beauty that you don't feel compelled to leave.
Come to Vail for the mountains. Come to Highcliffe for the experience of being there.

About the host
Hosted by Adam Bersin
Highcliffe was a true labor of love. After purchasing the land in 2014, we spent two years designing and handcrafting what became one of Vail's most distinctive luxury log homes. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, with no expense spared, creating a mountain retreat our family and guests continue to cherish.
We chose this extraordinary property for its rare combination of privacy, nearly an acre of land, dramatic topography, ancient aspen groves, towering boulders, and breathtaking Gore Range views.
The only authentic handcrafted log home built in Vail in the past 30 years, Highcliffe features massive, fully scribed Engelmann spruce and lodgepole pine logs from Montana and Wyoming, rich Colorado and New Mexico stone, custom-forged ironwork, handcrafted furnishings upholstered in Ralph Lauren fabrics, authentic Navajo rugs, and carefully curated Western and European antiques. Every material was selected for its beauty, authenticity, and craftsmanship, creating an unforgettable mountain lodge with timeless character.
We hope you'll experience the warmth, beauty, and adventure that make Highcliffe so special.
Why they chose this property
Some places are built. Others are discovered.
Highcliffe sits on one of the last untouched acre-sized homesites in Vail, surrounded by ancient aspens, dramatic boulders, and sweeping Gore Range views. Backing directly onto White River National Forest, it feels wonderfully secluded—yet Vail Village is just five minutes away.
Walk one minute to Gore Creek for world-class fly fishing, whitewater rafting, or miles of scenic trails. A breathtaking waterfall hike begins just steps from your front door.
This is the rarest kind of mountain retreat: complete privacy without sacrificing convenience. Spend your days skiing, hiking, dining, and exploring the best of Vail, then return to the quiet beauty of your own private lodge.
At Highcliffe, the mountains aren't just the backdrop—they're part of the experience.
What makes this property unique
Highcliffe offers something few homes in Vail can: your own private mountain sanctuary.
Set on nearly an acre of pristine alpine landscape, the estate features private nature trails, an observatory, expansive yard, an antique wagon, and a mountainside that feels entirely your own. Watch eagles soar overhead, hummingbirds dart through the aspens, and foxes, marmots, and other wildlife wander past from the comfort of your deck.
Designed for unforgettable mountain living, Highcliffe offers multiple outdoor terraces for morning coffee, sunset cocktails, and al fresco dining—all framed by spectacular Gore Range views.
Inside, the experience is equally extraordinary. Inspired by the timeless elegance of the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, the home blends authentic mountain craftsmanship with world-class luxury, including a state-of-the-art private cinema. It's more than a vacation home—it's your own private mountain lodge unlike anything else in Vail.
