We tend to leave guests to themselves as they usually want peace and tranquility when staying. Being relatively new to the area ourselves we are not really able to offer suggestions on sightseeing as yet
We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely cottage, had everything we needed and a little extra a nice surprise 😊. We love to be out and away and this was perfect and beautiful. A vehicle is a must for this location. We were able to visit many areas while here and take walks right from the cottage. Judy the hostess was terrific made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely book again!!!!
Nature around property makes it an ideal destination for lover's of fresh air and wild river's; River Ken can be heard loudly within the property. For lover's of star gazing this hits the spot for seeing shooting stars. We saw red kite, deer, pet sheep and rescued donkeys.
I’ve never stayed in a better equipped holiday let, it’s short of nothing and the owners are very generous. The location is superb, beautifully remote within a forest with lovely forest drives. Great grocery shop and Italian restaurant in Moniave, which is 30 mins away. If you want to get away from it all this is the perfect location. The cabin is warm, cosy and comfortable and I can’t recommend it enough
Lovely welcoming host, very clean so much information about the local area. It was our wedding anniversary lovely thoughtful bottle of fizz and beers in the fridge. Nice touches of tablet and shortbread. Bed was so comfy. Very peaceful location, would definitely revisit. Have recommended to family. Perfect few nights away. Thank you Judy
Absolutely lovely, Judy was very welcoming and friendly. If you are looking for peace and quiet away from everything without mobile and Internet you couldn’t choose anywhere better. You definitely need a car because to get anywhere it can take quite a while. Saying that we did go out every day. Absolutely loved it was sad to leave. Thank you Judy for letting us stay in your wonderful cabin.

Perfect work from the hosts. All the stuff is well thought out. The hosts are within easy reach. But their presence is not felt at all. We spent a wonderful holiday. Completely disconnected from the city and people. Wonderful wild nature and a wonderful cottage with a well-kept garden. Many thanks to the hosts.
Cottage is located in very quite environment. For town people fantastic place to relax and sleep without any disturbance. Cottage is very well equiped, nice living room with kitchenette and heating. Bed in bedroom is big and comfortable. The welcome package with bottle of good white wine and two beers came in very handy. Location is good starting point for exploring of Galloway forrest area. Only the water pressure in the shower is not always optimal.
Me and my partner stayed here for his 40th birthday weekend we just wanted to get away and have some peace and we got exactly what we wanted the cottage itself was absolutely beautiful everything we needed was there and the added extras books,Blankets etc was a lovely touch and a bottle of bubbly left in the fridge by Judy was really appreciated the views around the property are breathtaking we were happy to get wrapped up and go out walking in the snow it made the scenery even more beautiful now that we have experienced it in the winter we will definitely be back for a summer break
Such a beautiful and truly peaceful area. Great night sky and a very welcoming and cosy cabin, perfect for our needs! Judy was a great host and we felt very welcome, yet with ample privacy. Well worth the price, I will definitely recommend. Thanks Judy x
Loved the cabin. The hosts were lovely and so helpful. Enjoyed the tranquil surrounds and were amazed at all the birds of prey and deer in the area. Thank you for all the treats too. We will be back.
Lovely hostess, very accommodating and welcoming and the sweetest friendly dogs.
Beautiful cabin, well equipped with lots of home comforts and lovely little touches.
Powerful shower, really comfy bed, nice cosy feel to the cabin.
Peaceful, tranquil, lovely surroundings with the most breathtaking star gazing views on a clear night with very minimal light pollution. Really didn’t want our break to end and would have loved to stay longer. Outdoor fire pit would add to the perfection, just a Little suggestion.
