We had a great stay, the cottage was so homey and cozy. We struggled a bit with the shower but all in all an amazing experience and we will definitely be back!

You can’t beat the location! My husband and I spent several hours each day just walking on the sandy beach, wading in the ocean, looking for sea glass and unique rocks. So relaxing! This is our third stay with Mark and Dawn, once at the Maine Rose and twice at the Sweet Pea. Great experience every time!

This is our 9th stay with Mark and Dawne, who are always the most gracious and welcoming hosts and friends. The cottages are beautiful, and views unmatched. Fantastic for kids, couples, families, or even just a nice solo beach week. Until next time!

Sweet Pea is wonderfully located 20 feet from the beach and is a charming cottage with everything you need for a totally relaxing retreat. Dawn and Mark are available w/o being intrusive and can answer any questions about the area. Check out the Pilot House in Machias for a nice meal and Seaduck Pt for a great hike.

Staying at the Sweet Pea on Sandy Beach is every we wanted. Peace and quiet, with a large dash of spectacular. The views are everything we remembered being this is our second trip. Everything in the cabin was great, clean and filled with everything you could need. The local crab meat and lobster is made of dreams. We hit up Jonesport Pizza downtown three times twice for breakfast and once for pizza. Yes, they do serve food there, you will get that from looking through the door. One bummer, the grocery has gone out of business. But there are a couple of markets downtown.Thanks a million Mark and Dawn

Cottage AND a beach!

Terrific location for a quiet week's get away. Good base for the great hiking on Wass Island, around Cutler and onward toward Lubec. Accommodating hosts, comfortable cottage, nice sandy beach and A+ sunrises.

Amazing Stay!

As soon as we pulled up we were absolutely in love with this place! Communication with Mark and Dawn was easy, and they were so welcoming. The view from the cottage/ beach was fantastic, and they had everything inside to make it like home! Would definitely stay here again!

If you want to be immersed in the sights and sounds of a quiet beach, this is the place. The large windows keep you surrounded by the view 24/7, and the sand and water are just steps away from your door. This is a place to relax, u plug and leave the workaday world behind. There is WiFi available and cell phone service is decent, but otherwise no electronics are present! This is a two-person cabin, best for couples, but 2 good friends could share as well. Kitchen has all you need - just bring your food (a couple of markets are not too far in case you forget anything).New this year: on Rte 1, La Laiterie....a fantastic place for French baked goods, breakfasts, brunches.... coffee is divine.The cabin is close to many hiking trails, the beach is never crowded, the weather is always better than points south I. The summer. We had one day of rain, but otherwise perfect days....glorious sunrises...some pretty moonrise, too.Love this place, and the owners are lovely, warm and helpful. Thank you, Mark and Dawn!!

Lovely views

The cottage has lovely views of the water, the beach and the nearby islands. It was very comfortable. The weather was gorgeous. We loved exploring the area. We enjoyed nearby hikes, and day trips to Bar Harbor and Campobello.

Quiet and peaceful away from all the hoopla down in southern Maine.Right on the beach for walks and views.Cottage was clean and had everything needed, should you choose to cook, including a grill outside.Great owners who respond quickly to your questions.

Fabulous ocean views and sunrises

Only feet from a quiet Sandy beach, this cottage is a wonderful peaceful refuge where you can slow down and relax. Dawn and Mark are friendly and responsive hosts who think of everything. This was our second visit and we’ll be back!
