Luxury villa with large, 12 meter private pool looking over an olive grove with mountain and sea views in Vamos, Crete.

Villa Chrysoula is situated on a high ridge just outside of Vamos, surrounded by mature trees, olive groves, and beautiful gardens. With magnificent views of Souda Bay and the White Mountains (Lefka Ori), this garden paradise is alive with bird song and scents of the Mediterranean. Villa Chrysoula offers plenty of space to host families and their guests. Only 500 meters from the center of the charming village of Vamos, it is close enough to walk to all amenities, but far enough to feel like you're in the countryside.

The swimming-pool is surrounded by beautiful gardens and has a toddlers’ area. Sun loungers and parasols are available on the pool deck. Cook on the gas-barbecue (Weber) and eat al fresco at the outdoor dining-area.

The main floor of the villa has an open-plan kitchen that leads into a spacious living and dining room, made comfortable at any season with well-equipped air conditioners, ceiling fans and under floor heating. Walk directly outdoors onto the terrace, garden and pool deck via sliding doors. Here's something you won't find at most villas: a guitar! Guests are welcome to enjoy the acoustic guitar, board games and books.

The kitchen is equipped with top quality Indesit cooking and refrigeration appliances, as well as an electric orange juicer, food processor, coffee machine, and hand electric blender. All pots, pans, and kitchenware are ready for you to cook---a must with the incredible quality of local food in the Vamos and Apokoranas area, especially the olive oil, yoghurt, honey and cheeses.

The top floor features two double bedrooms with luxury-top mattresses, built-in wardrobes, air conditioners, ceiling fans and an adjoining bathroom/shower with bath. Both bedrooms step out onto a long, shared balcony for you to enjoy sunsets and lovely views of the Aegean Sea.

The ground floor has a spacious bedroom suite equipped with two double beds, each with luxury top mattresses. The ground floor suite also has built-in wardrobes, its own bathroom/shower room, with hair dryer, and can be accessed by a separate entrance making it ideal for a multiple family visit.

The ground floor is equipped with a large laundry/utility room, which includes a clothes washing machine, clothes drying rack, and iron with board. The utility room also has an extra drinks fridge/freezer.

The traditional village of Vamos offers all amenities, including a 24 hour health centre, dentist, bank, school, mini markets & a variety of other stores. The village also attracts tourists interested in the archeology and history of this historic village.

We have stayed here many years ago and still loved it we were 4 adults and two children aged 6 and 8 and it was perfect for us. We mostly ate in using the barbecue and kitchen and it worked very well. The pool is very good for young children.

An amazing stay! The villa is situated in a beautiful countryside surrounded by olive trees, fruit trees, and herbs. The pool was warm and clean. The check in was simple - just followed detailed instructions Nicola sent us. The kitchen is well equipped and we were pleasantly surprised by some hoodies left for us by the host. The villa itself is spacious, which was nice for our family. The communication with the host was also easy and quick.You need a car to stay there - it is situated in a small village in the hills, about 45 minutes from Chania and Rethymno. You also need a car to get to the beaches. I would definitely recommend this place!!!

The villa lies just outside the village of Vámos, which has a great selection of restaurants and cafes. It is ideally located a short drive to the lovely local beaches to the North and Chania and Rethimno both a short drive away. We loved the outside space and pool area, which offered spectacular views towards the White Mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks at the villa and hope to return to further explore the area.

Fabulous Villa

Spent a wonderful 11 nights at the villa. A extremely clean and well equipped property and much larger than it looks in the photos. Pool area is lovely and remains in the sunshine all day although there are many shady areas around the property in which to relax out of the sun. Great location for exploring this lovely island. We especially recommend snorkelling at Octopus Bay for a memorable experience. Plenty to do do but also the perfect place to relax. Would highly recommend to friends and family

Super villa.

We were 5 people in the villa i July. It is a lovely villa, with all you need for a holiday. There is nice and clean all over the place. There is only a short walh to Vamos, where there are some small supermarkeds and a handfull restaurants. In the village nearby named Kefalas we can recomment the restaurant Meterizi. Dorthe Bendix

This property was very easy to find from the directions and when we arrived everything was in order. The rooms were exactly as described and thankfully the air con was very efficient. The whole rental was totally hassle free. We had a very relaxing stay at the villa that met our requirements in every aspect, we did very little sightseeing this time in Crete so I expect to return to this Villa in the near future to remedy this. Beautiful view!

The villa is very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The view from poolside and balconies is stunning. A quiet location very close to Vamos village. A car means you can visit different beaches and villages as well as Chania & Rethymnon. Pool & villa cleaning service excellent. We had no difficulties but if we had, help was only a call away. Very good instructions in getting to the villa meant we could arrive late at night without difficulty. We were a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Highly recommend!

Feeling at home

We had a wonderful stay at the villa. Nicola, the owner, was attentive and welcoming. The house lacked nothing - we even enjoyed the guitar!! We were 4 adults and we constantly felt we had lots of space, privacy and quiet. From the beautiful gardens to the refreshing pool to the vistas from the villa - it was perfect. We were located in the beautiful Vamos with its many tavernas, bakeries and shops. It was one of the most relaxing vacations any of us had experienced with the slow pace of life in the many villages we visited the perfect antidote to our more rushed living. We would return in a minute to fall back into the beauty, the always amazing food and, of course, the beaches of unbelievable beauty of Crete.

Fabulous! We stayed for 10 nights at this villa, the villa was perfect - very spacious, fully equipped with everything you need. All the rooms have air con and ceiling fans, we found we mainly only needed to use the fans as they worked so well. The villa was extremely clean upon arrival with a welcome basket of bread, milk, water, jam, yoghurt, butter, beers and wine - perfect as we did not arrive until after midnight. The views are simply stunning looking out onto the White Mountains was so relaxing, plenty of outside spaces to sit and sunbathe with the pool being a perfect size, with a separate padding area perfect if you have toddlers. You can walk a short walk (10 mins) into Vamos village where there are a shops that contain everything you need, some lovely restaurant's where the food is amazing and staff so friendly and welcoming. It is very traditional and not at all touristy so perfect is you want to experience authentic Crete. We hired a car so that we could drive to the beach (10 mins by car) the beaches are fantastic, Keyleves beach has more choice of restaurants and bars/shops - also a bigger supermarket. We were a family of 5, children ranging from 13 to 19 and we had the best time - we would love to return to Crete and to this wonderful villa. Thank you to Nicola who was always available to answer any queries we had and arranged for us to leave out cases at the villa after check out so we could arrange for taxi to collect us on our last day.

A Perfect Holiday

A perfect place to unwind

We had a great stay in this lovely villa in Crete. The villa had great views and a lovely pool and was only a very short drive to some fantastic beaches with clear warm water to swim in. The area is family suitable and you won’t struggle for things to do. We would definitely go back. The villa is comfortable and the air con and mozzie screens made the stay much more comfortable than other places we have stayed at. The pool was a hit with our 5 year old and kept him occupied for hours. There was also reliable Wi-Fi which was great for a few urgent work matters which had to be picked up whilst there. Locally there are places to eat and to pick up supplies and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts who were lovely and responsive. If you have a large group, renting the villa next door (the only other property very close) would be excellent. However, we only rented one and weren’t disturbed by the neighbours at all. All in all, a great place to stay in an area with some lovely beaches and clear warm seas! Octopus Bay was our favourite!

Vamos villa

Lovely villa with a great swimming pool. Lots of space outside both shaded and in the sunshine. Rooms were good size, air conditioned and fans so environmentally friendly. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed exploring Vamos and went to some really nice restaurants in Vamos (which is walkable) and also to a couple within a few miles of the villa. Love the Greek food and hospitality. The noise of the cicadas was a bit of a surprise, but they are a feature of Crete during the Summer months.

Better than advertised!

The house is spacious but doesn't feel too big because the rooms are spread out across 3 floors. The views of Souda Bay and the mountains are way better in person. The owner was always available and took the initiative to ask what we may need. There is Covid testing available at a private clinic in Kalyves nearby. Anything you can't find in Vamos, you can find there. Great location! I would definitely consider staying here again.

Villa mit wundervoller Aussicht

Die Villa hat einen wundervollen Pool und faszinierende Aussichten auf die Weißen Berge und das Meer. Beides haben wir sehr genossen. Das Haus bietet viel Platz und die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Leider hat die Klimaanlage in einem Schlafzimmer jede Nacht nach zweit Stunden aufgehört zu kühlen. Die Vermieter haben sich Mühe gegeben, das Problem zu lösen, aber ohne Erfolg. Die Matratzen sind leider sehr hart. Aus unserer Sicht gehören sie dringend ausgetauscht. Im Souterrain arbeitet viele Stunden am Tag ein Gerät - wir vermuten eine Wasserpumpe - das doch für sehr viel Geräusch im unteren Schlafzimmer sorgt, auch nachts! Die Schlafzimmer im oberen Stockwerk sind davon aber sehr wenig betroffen. Alles in allem haben wir unseren Aufenthalt aber sehr genossen. Wie eingangs erwähnt - die Aussicht ist unschlagbar!

Schöne Unterkunft, nette Vermieterin

Wir haben unseren Urlaub in der Villa Chrysoula sehr genossen. Der Blick auf die Berge und der großzügige Pool waren für uns und unsere Kinder das Highlight! Die Kommunikation mit Nicola, der Vermieterin, war immer sehr freundlich und sie hat versucht alle unsere Wünsche zu berücksichtigen. Danke nochmals dafür! Im nahegelegenen Ort Vamos kann man alle Dinge für den täglichen Gebrauch einkaufen. Der nächste größere Supermarkt ist ca. 15 Autominuten entfernt. Wir waren dort allerdings nur einmal während unseres 10-tägigen Aufenthalts. Es gibt einige Strände in der Nähe von Vamos, der nächste ist in Almyrida, gute 10 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt. Für etwas größere und schönere Strände muss man dann eher 20 Minuten einplanen. Einzig die Matratze in unserem Doppelbett fanden wir zu hart und die Villa wirkt auf den Fotos etwas geräumiger als sie tatsächlich ist. Für uns sechs war es allerdings völlig ausreichend! Wir würden wiederkommen!

Lovely Holiday

If you do not like crowded big Hotels and thousands of tourist groups this is the place to stay. You are within the nature and you have cozy villages and nice restaurants near by to enjoy crete. Even the beaches are not far away. Thank you for an unforgettable holiday! Anja with family and friends

We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Chrysoula. The location of the villa is fantastic - close enough to the village but also secluded. The house is cozy and there is a wonderful view from the garden, which also has lovely big pool. It's a place where you'd love to return!

Super comfortable villa with amazing view

Exceptional villa, we will not forget this view from the dinning area by the pool. The house has everything, is located in the garden, you do not see other properties. Birds wake you up in the morning. In 10-15 min driving are good beaches, we went once to the southern part (50 min), beaches there , around Hora Sfakion, are excellent and empty.

Pool area was great with pretty garden and lots of different shady spots to sit in. House is well equipped and had air conditioning which meant we slept well. Plenty to do in the area for our week long stay. Xani in Chania was indeed a lovely restaurant. Would also recommend the Botanical Gardens. We made shorter trips to the beaches/diving point at Almyrida, Georgiopolous (v cold!) and Kefalas. Aptera was interesting (we went early in the day) and we spent our last afternoon before a late flight on a fantastic beach at Kalathas. Vamos is just a short stroll down the hill. A couple of nice restaurants and don't miss ice cream and cake from the cafe next to Georgina's. You can get essentials from the two little supermarkets. We would certainly recommend a visit to others.

Villa Chrysoula -a real gem for a great holiday!

We have recently returned from a wonderful holiday in Western Crete in May. Villa Chrysoula had everything that we needed. The owners have given a great deal of thought in making it a very comfortable and attractive home. It has large, light, sunny rooms with views to the mountains and the sea from the pool terrace and balconies.. The accommodation is very well planned and furnished, with plenty of storage space. The kitchen and utility room are particularly well equipped and will meet everyone's requirements with all its modern appliances. The lovely poolside terrace is surrounded by a pretty garden and it has complete privacy. The Villa is in an ideal position for exploring Western Crete, the Mountain Gorges, and the old city of Chania. The local village of Vamos, which is very close, has a number of excellent restaurants , cafes and shops, where we always received a warm welcome.
