This is a fabulous, newly custom made,renovated apartment on bottom floor of a historic building located west (for the sunset) facing the magnificent calm waters of Carlisle Bay & Bayshore Beach. The apartment is on the only beach on the south coast with West Coast conditions but instead with white powdery sand. With stunning sunset views of sailboats and the deep water harbour, the apartment consists of 2 master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and looks on to a charming garden. There are four different kind of palms. Off the garden there is also an elevated gazebo looking on to the beach. The apartment is fully equipped for self catering.

Beautiful spot, walked to dive shop, calm water gorgeous beach. Lots to watch, boats in the bay, people on the beach. It was great to wake up to that view every day. One week is way too short though. Jens our host was VERY attentive. We had everything we needed. Kitchen was very well equipped, good a/c in bedrooms fantastic location would highly reccomend.

Ideal location for beach access

We stayed on the ground level for a week and would absolutely stay here again. The apartment is right on the beach, and the included access to loungers and beach umbrella every day were much appreciated. While the beach can get busier when cruise ships disembark, we found it was never too crowded on this section of the beach. Also, we were never too concerned with leaving our belongings on our chairs while swimming. We had everything we needed for our stay, the apartment was very clean, and there’s plenty of spaces to relax inside and out. We felt safe the entire time and welcomed the friendly hellos of beachgoers nearby. Gregory was readily available for check in and any questions we had. Friends stayed down the beach and arranged with Gregory to stock our fridge as our flight was delayed a couple days. One note I will say, if you’re larger than average, you may have difficulty squeezing into the shower opening - it’s built in so there’s no flexibility there. Other than that? No notes! We are recommending this to anyone looking for a comfortable home where you can walk straight out the door and snorkel with the turtles.

Pros Amazing beach Cons Terrible neighborhood, apartment is dark, no privacy. Located next to large public parking lot. Groups congregate after dark. Loud music, cars and voices. Large commercial garbage container in corner of lot near apartment with rotting garbage. Crime. 3rd night of stay gunshots in parking lot. 2 people shot. 9th night of stay 2 men staying in apartment above were held up at gunpoint at 9pm 100 yards from the apartment while walking on the beach home from dinner. Just posted that a woman tourist stabbed on the beach during a robbery attempt. Found maggots on the floor on 2 separate mornings. Owner wasn’t very helpful in a solution to clean/control this problem. Gregory was not pleasant to deal with. He doesn’t like problems and has poor people and communication skills. He asked us to leave on day 9 of our 14 day booking. We did. Impossible to recommend this accommodation.

Property right on beach, it was wonderful to rise every morning and head out for a morning walk and swim. Property has plenty of space, a real home from home. Greg was always on hand to give advise and help out.

Perfection

Jens is an incredible guy. The apartment is comfortable and cozy with an awesome table/nook/sitting area just outside. Right on the beach…beautiful vegetation is the only thing separating you from an amazing beach with clean, clear, waters. Bring a mask/snorkel and swim out a bit to see the awesome fish, sea turtles, eagle rays, etc. Such fun. We even got to see some late night monkeys run by;) Book with confidence. Just don’t take our return week please:)

Ideal vacation rental for our family

We fully recommend this wonderful apartment. The patio with the dining table off the kitchen and living room, on to a wonderful tropical garden right at the perfect Caribbean beach couldn't have been better. The beach with the sunbeds and the umbrella as well as the calm water is ideal for children. Two bedrooms with a bathroom each were very useful for our family of four. The host is a definitive plus who contributes to the relaxing atmosphere. Everything was in impeccable shape, clean and tidy. It is the perfect combination of tranquility and being in the middle of everything (which also means traffic noise in the bedroom, which you should be ok with), We can defnitely recommend staying here!

Beautiful beach, perfect location

This place was exactly what we needed; right on the beach, easy access to buses and taxis, and an easy walk to Bridgetown. It exceeded all expectations. The accommodations were great! Awesome ocean view plus AC in the bedrooms.

A brilliant apartment in a fantastic location

We stayed in the ground floor apartment at The Brick House. It was everything we wanted and more. We were made to feel extremely welcome by Jens-uwe who did all he could to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The apartment is spacious and extremely well equipped. It's proximity to the beach is perfect. We would highly recommend this place and wouldn't hesitate in staying there again

Christmas at the Brick House

We had a truly fabulous stay at Jens' place. It is situated right on one of the island's best beaches, with the famous turtles just a short snorkel from the shore. Mornings began with a beach walk as the light rose, to the left to see the racehorses swim on Pebbles Beach, to the right to touch the rocks that mark the end of the beach and the beginning of Bridgetown. We did not hire a car, choosing to walk or to use the ZR vans ($2 Bajan a trip). The location of the Bridgetown markets means you can walk in and out if you're not too loaded down. You can also buy freshly landed fish right outside the garden gate. Jens is always available if you need anything and provides a whole range of holiday gear to make your stay better – barbeque, beach chairs, umbrellas etc. We will return. We stayed in the downstairs apartment as the upstairs was not available when we booked (weirdly, both sets of people who were in it when we were there booked after us so I am not sure how that happened). I have my eye on upstairs for the return trip, it has the most astonishing view and is much, much brighter than downstairs. BUT in saying that, downstairs is fab in its on way and you're pretty much right on the beach. And Christmas there? It is what you make it. To us, it was glorious.

Beautiful Home

Overall, we had a splendid experience in Barbados and our stay at the Beach Brick House. Our arrival was delayed due to weather and the airlines. We arrived one day later than planned. This delay caused several miscommunications. I called the taxi service (arranged by Jens) when our flight was rescheduled and also left a phone message with Stephanie (the house manager), who was to give us our keys and tour. We arrived at the airport in Barbados with no taxi waiting and Stephanie not answering her phone. So, we hired a taxi recommended by the airport and headed for the Beach Brick House. The taxi driver could not find the house and Stephanie was still not answering her phone. We were beginning to think we had been scammed and paid all this money up front! Fortunately, we eventually found the house. The doors were locked at the entry so we went to the back beach area and saw someone peeking out the window. He was unaware of our arrival, but upon showing our emails from Jens, he said he would admit us to our villa and notify Jens and Stephanie. This wonderful person, Michel, turned into a true blessing for our entire family. Upon waking in the morning, there was juice and breakfast on the patio waiting for us. Thank you Michel! Stephanie arrived later in the morning & explained we were given the wrong phone number and that is why she didn't answer. During our stay in Barbados, we spent most of our time relaxing on the beach and swimming with the sea turtles. The pictures shown in the advertisement are very accurate. Very close to the water and the home is stunning. The nicest property on this beach. Michel spent time letting us know the events on the island. We also met a local surfer who took us to another beach for a day. We went to Oestins Friday night fish fry, Saturday night went to Karaoke, also a boat tour (the funnest day), a Safari island tour, & excellent restaurants. A grill is provided by the Brick House. We purchased fish/lobster from a fisherman on the beach outside the house. The Brick House provides lounge chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling equipment at no additional charge. The grocery store is a short bus ride away. There is no need to rent a car. A cleaning lady comes as scheduled. We met Jens toward the end of our stay. He is a pleasant person. This is a wonderful property, beautifully landscaped, clean and impeccably maintained. 5 stars on the property, 4 stars due to wrong phone number for Stephanie/arrival issues.

A real gem of a place

We arrived and were met by Jens who spent some considerable time with us explaining all that we needed to know to make our stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Jens was a really great host who was on hand if you needed advice. A nice touch was the fresh flowers, 3 banks beers and a bottle of wine in the fridge ! One of the most beautiful spots we have ever stayed in whilst in Barbados. We had the ground floor garden apartment where we would sit and enjoy the view over Carlisle bay. We enjoyed the swimming in lovely calm waters and I would snorkel daily. This is where people come to snorkel and 'swim with turtles'. The turtles were a highlight for me. Facilities for eating etc are only a walk away. Good supermarkets are available in St Lawrence Gap which is a 1 dollar bus ride away. You do not need a car unless you wish to travel the island sightseeing. Our one week holiday is at an end now. Both my Wife and I wish we had booked another week. We intend to return as soon as possible. Many thanks to Jens for making our stay so enjoyable.

Great experience

We had a wonderful holiday in Barbados this summer, staying in the ground floor apartment of Brick House with our young daughter. The apartment has everything you could need and is very well presented. The terrace is a lovely place to eat, under the bougainvillea, watching the birds come and go (including hummingbirds!). The access to the beach is amazing. I miss it! Jens was a great and attentive host and we would highly recommend the Brick House as a base for your holiday.

An Absolutely AMAZING Experience

For those of you looking for an amazing apartment in Barbados I highly recommend The Brick House located on the beautiful Carlisle Bay. The whole property is literally situated right on the beach. You walk through a lovely green garden and yard, open a gate and voilà your feet are on the lovely white sand. The view is simply to die for. The blue color of the water is simply stunning and when the sun sets it's a great time to take photographs. Directly in front of the apartment is where the sea turtles come in. Every morning we swam out to greet the turtles and it was truly an amazing experience being so close to them. Further over to the left are two ship-wrecks which you can also snorkel out to. After you are done swimming there are outdoor facilities to wash the sand and salt water off. The apartment itself was immaculate and fully equipped. A cleaning lady came over mid-week to give it a clean and provide fresh sheets and towels. There is a great little Gazebo where you can sit and read while over-looking the beach. There is also a new gas BBQ which we took advantage of cooking fresh seafood which we purchased directly from the fishermen on the beach. Located about 300 meters down the beach (from the apartment) is the Yacht Club where you can enjoy a lunch buffet which has a beautiful setting and great food. There is public transport in both directions making it incredibly easy to go into or out of town. If you wish to go into town you can actually just walk along the beach for about 10 minutes and you'll be into the center. If you go out of town the famed Oistins Fish Market is about a 20 minute bus ride. I could go on and on but I'll just say that I rarely leave comments but felt compelled to this time because it was just such a great experience. You won't be disappointed staying at this place. It's secure, safe and above all else the Landlord was just such a lovely person. He really made our holiday special by going out of his way to help us and offer assistance above and beyond what you would expect.

Perfect Beach Apartment

Beautiful Beach right in front of the of the house

The Brick House on Browns Beach Barbados was the ideal location for us (two couples). We stayed for one week. The apartment is well appointed and provides all the equipment you need. Both bedrooms contain a bathroom as well as an air condition for a good nights rest. The apartment is on the first floor and the beautiful patio offered a great seating-accommodation to have breakfast or to lime at night with a magnificent beach view. One of the best things about the Brick House is the beach right in front of the house which is one of the most beautiful beaches in Barbados. The garden has a direct access to the beach. It only takes about 10 meters to dip into the water. The white sand, the clear blue water and numerous sea turtles invited to snorkel and relax. We will definitely come back again.

Beautiful Beach Condo On Carlisle Bay

This is an extremely beautiful condo on Browns Beach located at Carlisle Bay, Barbados. It was very clean, and your literally feet from the beautiful water. I snorkel, swam and enjoyed the local festivities and Carnival there. The owner Jens, fulfilled my every need, from providing useful information on the city to pre purchasing groceries for me upon my arrival so I would have some kind of nourishment. Overall 5+ Stars

Amazing Vacation 2014

What an amazing trip. Everything from arrival to departure was indeed phenomenal. The location of this property couldn't be better. Carlise Bay is the best beach for snorkeling. The sea turtles and shipwrecks are right there for your leisure without having to pay for it. It is literally a short walk to downtown Bridgetown and all the amazing restaurants and night spots. We had the opportunity to walk to the Bridgetown museum and see the garrison and George Washington's House. There are taxis and buses that will take you all over the island for $1US. This came in handy for cost savings as we were able to tour other areas of the island such as Oistons and Bathsheba. The owner of the property is the greatest! And he is so knowledgeable about the island and where to go. Everything that you can possibly need is inside of the property. It felt exactly like a second home. Everyone we encountered was helpful and kind. Our only regret is that we stayed for seven days instead of three weeks! It is definitely a place I will go over and over and over again.

The perfect place for perfect holidays!

The Brickhouse at the Carlisle Bay was absolutely perfect for us! We stayed there for 10 days and found the pure relaxation. Right at the end of the property the sand beach with its crystal clear water begins. Every day we visited the turtles during our snorkel trips and swam with them in the warm ocean water. Absolutely fascinating! Although we had no experience with snorkeling, Mr. Affeldt gave us the equipment and lots of valuable tips. All in all, the apartment is very well equipped. The openness of the living, dining and kitchen areas really promote interaction and are a great place to both begin and end the day. The two bedrooms had their own bathrooms and were fitted with air conditioning systems. There are beautiful views from the terrace as well as comfortable furniture. We found ourselves eating on the terrace dining table for breakast and dinners. Five stars for a very special place on an beautiful island! Hope we’ll come back soon!

I have travelled a fair amount, and I give this property a strong 5 star rating. It is our favorite beach of all time, extremely private. The snorkeling is amazing with crystal clear water with a variety of fish and the odd sea turtle. You will find everything in this facility as advertised, however the owner does not mention how informative, knowledgeable and helpful he is. I found him extremely interesting and in a short period of time we became friends. We will defiantly repeat this holiday
