Another fabulous holiday in beautiful North Norfolk

We love the North Norfolk coast & Orchard Cottage is an ideal base for everything on offer in the region - beaches, country walks, pubs & shops all within easy reach. The Cottage itself is cosy, warm & comfortable with everything you need (missed the pile of luxurious cushions we had on our last visit though - where have they gone?!). Norfolk Hideaways customer service was excellent as usual - this time providing us with a brand new kettle the same day when ours stopped working.

Lovely cosy cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at Orchard Cottage. It’s a lovely cosy cottage, clean and in a great location for all the places we wanted to explore. My husband’s grandparents nipped over to see us for the afternoon and the stairs and varying flooring levels upstairs aren’t for those unsteady on their feet! However, for us (a young couple with a little boy) it was absolutely no problem. Well appointed and comfortable, we had a lovely stay and would definitely book again.

Very nice for a short break

We thought the cottage was very picturesque, well-equipped and set in a lovely small village. We would definitely come back for another visit. The only criticisms were minor: there were a few cobwebs on some of the furniture and some of the lights didn't work. Also, a little more specificity in the directions would be useful as the 'orchard cottage' sign is very small. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cottage.

Lovely comfortable cottage, only one fault for dog owners, there is no where to safely walk a dog without going out in the car.

comfortable cottage

Very nice cottage, just as described in the publicity. Well situated for walks in the area, including to Hunstanton. Good walk past Hunstanton Hall open on Thursdays. All equipment worked. Shower was very good. Ringstead is a pleasant village with general store and popular pub.

Christmas at Orchard Cottage

Lovely cozy little cottage. Had everything we needed for the perfect Christmas break away. If I had to find a negative at all it would be that there are no board games etc so if a family were to stay there’s only videos to watch, and only two were for little ones. Otherwise perfect

Orchard Cottage, Ringstead

Orchard Cottage is a lovely characterful cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is clean, comfortable, very well equipped and has a lovely cosy feel to it. The village of Ringstead has a well-stocked village shop and a great pub, the Gin Trap Inn. So all in all a very good location for a holiday in North Norfolk with plenty of places to visit just a short distance away such as Hunstanton and Sandringham.

Wonderful Stay

Orchard Cottage was everything we wanted, and more. Immaculately kept, beautiful furnishings, very comfortable and in a great location. We had a lovely week and wouldn't hesitate in recommending here.

Orchard Cottage

Cottage location was excellent for us as we love the area. Cottage itself was nice, cosy and good quality soft furnishings and nice kitchen. The stairs were a bit of an issue for my husband but, they tend to go with the territory on cosy cottages. There was a damp smell throughout with no obvious signs of damp which was somewhat masked by the Reed diffusers in certain rooms. The bathroom radiator only got warm at the bottom which wasn’t great for drying towels so needs bleeding. Lovely bath, shower was good although signs of mould in places. However, we really enjoyed our stay and the slight issues I mentioned did not detract from that.

Lovely cottage holiday

The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. But the stairs are steep and the cottage is a little way from the centre of the village and you may need a torch to walk back from the village at night. But it's a great little cottage.

Beautiful cottage in lovely village

We had a fantastic stay in Orchard Cottage. The property is full of character and beautifully furnished. All mod cons including Wi-fi. Perfect location with a short walk to the fantastic local shop, excellent local pub and short drive to the beach. Strongly recommend.

Fantastic Stay - a few minor suggestions and new/safer highchair

Fantastic little cottage, gorgeous and really comfortable and well appointed. Would visit again. Handy and beautiful location with some good local amenities within good reach. Attractively decorated. My only minor comments - kitchen could do with some larger water glasses and beer glass, as well as placemats for the dining table. Freezer needed defrosting. Highchair attractive but missing a leg divide or safety strap which doesn’t make it the safest item for a wriggling 11 month old. Therefore we resorted to using our travel highchair which we’d luckily brought. The travel cot was fantastic though. Bathroom - could do with a new anti-slip mat or clean. A shelf in the shower would be a nice addition.

Cosy, comfortable, characterful cottage in great location for exploring the Norfolk Coast

The customer service prior to the stay was excellent and all the staff we dealt with at Norfolk Hideaways were friendly, efficient and professional. The cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival. The property was well appointed, cosy and comfortable. The bathroom spacious and good quality linen provided. The cottage was in a great location for exploring the Norfolk Coast, there were plenty of beautiful walks (ideal with the dog) from the door step. Good local pub and village store. The stairs are quite steep, not a problem for us but maybe something to consider for those with mobility issues or children. We had a lovely holiday in a beautiful part of the UK.

First holiday in Norfolk

The cottage was great but in this price range we would have expected it to be fitted out with a smart television. Plus no tv in any of the bedrooms

A lovely holiday cottage.

We had a lovely stay in Orchard Cottage. It was in a good location , and we enjoyed a walk to the local pub. It had all the amenities required in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable. Everything was lovely and clean and well furnished. The only negative was the low door frames as my husband banged his head on a few occasions. The stairs were also quite steep for my 87 year mother in law, although she managed with the hand rail and using her walking stick.

A luxuriously-specified cottage with great attention to detail. I loved the quiet, the wildlife around, the amazingly comfortable bed and the woodburner!

Delightful cottage

Very much enjoyed the stay here. Only minor warning is the uneven floor on the landing with small hidden step and sloping floor which may catch out the unwary at night. Otherwise well equipped and a nice secluded garden with decent furniture (though we only managed a couple of coffees because of the weather). Very convenient for the north coast and facilities. Good local shop and a deli & farm shop within a couple of miles. Couldn't try the pub because it was closed for refurbishment.

Great May break

Great property. Very comfortable; well equipped with modern amenities but with a great country cottage vibe. Both front and back garden can be accessed by adjacent property so just beware if you take a dog. However, that was not a problem for our stay. The countryside around the cottage was stunning and the whole area beautiful. Would thoroughly recommend.

3RD YEAR AT ORCHARD COTTAGE RINGSTEAD

Hello Norfolk Hideaways Our 3rd year staying at Orchard Cottage, Ringstead and what with the situation with Coronavirus it was a different stage this year! Luckily the cottage is in a rural location and the Norfolk coastal has many remote walks to enjoy. Also the log burner made evenings in without being to eat out, very special with our elderly parents there. It also gave the opportunity to explain the virus situation and as they live 3 hours away from us to see them too. At difficult times like these knowing the cottage set up made it easier to deal with the situation and we would like to say thank you the all the attention to quality and detail within the property that made the break a safer holiday. Kind regards Elizabeth Smith-McMorran

Lovely cottage for our Christmas break

A lovely cosy cottage, beautifully presented. Very comfortable beds, nice linen and towels. Everything provided you may need obviously a lot of attention to detail at this cottage. The location is brilliant for visiting great beaches, many nice towns a short drive away and Ringstead has a great pub and shop. Altogether the cottage makes for an excellent holiday and will definitely stay again.

Orchard cottage

We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It was very comfortable and warm especially when we lit the log burner. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were very comfy. It was conveniently placed for all the places we like to visit. There was only one slight niggle ......the lighting in the lounge made it difficult to read as it was quite dim. However that did not spoil our stay.

Light, cosy, peaceful and beautifully located

Orchard Cottage is a charming place in an absolutely excellent location. Cosy, very well equipped and very comfortably furnished with a lovely little strip of garden, we found this to be exactly the peaceful retreat we were looking for. Inside, it's light, airy and spacious. Outside it's just at the top of the lovely village of Ringstead, which has a great pub and a very well stocked local store just a short walk away so unlike some places you're not completely bound drive everywhere. Ringstead also has a lovely walk around it taking in the beautiful Ringstead Downs and chalk pit. Hunstanton is only a short drive away, as are the excellent Thornham Deli and Drove Orchards farm shop. Beautiful beaches at Holme, Hunstanton and Titchwell are all within about 10 minutes by car and there are plenty of other beautiful places less than 30 minutes away along the coast. Honestly there's really nothing to fault this place for - I particularly loved the kitchen, which is very well equipped with a great fan oven, and the delightful little dining room facing out into the garden where we ate all our meals. Definitely hope we'll come again soon!

Lovely peaceful stay and stylish well located cottage

We stay at a lot of cottages and Orchard was very good. Very quiet despite being on a little local road. Enclosed front and back gardens very good for safeguarding our dog. Very stylish decor. Great pub The Gin Trap walking distance along with a local grocery shop. We did the 7 mike circular walk around Ringstead which you can do from the front door. Very quick to get to lovely sandy beach at Hunstanton. All round a lovely cottage, very clean and can’t fault. Would recommend and may well return.
