This is such a great location, and Courtney is a wonderful host. We’ve stayed twice and look forward to returning next year. While the driveway is a little steep, there’s ample parking in front of the house.
House was perfect for for our family. We came to attend UCSD graduation and found the location to be convenient. Also near Costco! Outside patio and nice couches was a pleasant area to gather. Inside looks newly remodeled with nice design and real clean.
This place is perfect! The space was so nice and clean, exactly as described. They had everything we needed and the host provided great instructions and made our check in and out process very easy. The location was great, centrally located to all the attractions in San Diego. As seen in other reviews the highway is close and at times noisy, but it really didn’t bother us. Bonus was being able to see the sea world fireworks over the bay each night. Highly recommend!
No air and alot of freeway traffic and train noise.
The entrance to the home is stairs and the railing is wobbly. Trying to carry coolers and luggage up was not easy. Tried using the driveway to save my Mom a trip up the stairs and you cant even get out of the car with bushes on both sides. The house was hot when we entered and there is only a portable unit and one in the window of one room. The portable would cool a bedroom at night but not the living, dining room during the day. If you open the windows the noise is so loud you cant hear the TV. Coming from AZ the last thing I wanted was to sweat all weekend. It was actually cooler on the patio Sat. afternoon than in the house. I know it was warmer than usual in San Diego this weekend but not to mention there is no air is wrong. It does say no handicapped and coming from a person with bad knees I should consider myself handicapped this weekend.

I am sorry you found my home unsuitable for your stay. The listing does not indicate that the home has air conditioning. VRBO has a check box to indicate if listings have air conditioning and I do not have that box checked. It is quite typical of homes in this area to not have A/C due to the age of the homes and the moderate San Diego climate. I only use the window A/C a couple times a year but I understand being from Arizona where you are accustomed to needing to run the A/C during the summer it could be disappointing.
And yes, the driveway is steep and narrow, I myself park on the street for that reason. I do understand that it can be an effort to carry heavy items from the street. I appreciate you contributing this information so future guests are not inconvenienced by the same issues. I do not intend to misrepresent my home in any way. Best regards, Courtney

Nice place, easy freeway access, lots close by
This is a beautifully remodeled house on a busy street above Interstate 5. For joggers, you can jog about .7 miles down sidewalks on Morena and over to the jogging trails along Mission Bay. Although it is quite noisy in the front yard, the house is surprisingly quiet and comfortable. The backyard, too, is cozy, much quieter than the front yard, and with comfortable seating is a good relaxation spot. The living room is a comfortable place to share the day's experiences with family or watch whatever's good on TV. The granite in the kitchen has amazing rainbow hues amplifed by light reflections. The owner Courtney is super friendly and responsive. The beds are comfortable. It would be nice to have a little more room for luggage in the bedrooms, to have at least one king size bed, and another bathroom. However the one shower is spacious with room for 2 people, each with their own shower head! Remember as you walk down the hall that the room on the right turns on not by the light switch but by the ceiling fan draw chain, which also turns on the fan. Be ready to dump the trash and strip the beds before you go.

Centrally located with a gorgeous view of the bay
We recently stayed at Courtney's home and had a great experience. The house has a gorgeous view of the bay that can be seen from the front yard as well asthe living room. We had 8 people so Courtney set up a bed in the living room to accommodate everyone. All four beds were extremely comfortable and the home was beautifully decorated. There is no dinner table so it is not ideal if you plan on sitting down to family meals during your stay. The backyard has a ton of seating, string lighting and an outdoor heater; we enjoyed spending our evenings back there and chose to eat our meals out there. The home is very centrally located. It only took us 10-15 minutes to get to North Park, Mission Beach and Downtown. Our only issue was that we could not lock the bathroom door, but there's a chance that it was user error and we just could not figure out how to correctly lock it. They emailed us as soon as the cleaning crew finished on the day of check in and let us know we could arrive early if we wanted to.

Thank you so much for the very kind review Rachel! I wish you would have messaged me during your stay about how to lock the bathroom door. Its a flip door lock so there is a plate on the door frame that you lust flip and slide down when you shut the door. You didn't have to go all weekend without being able to lock the door but hopefully it want too much of an inconvenience! Hope you had a great weekend!

Amazing!!
From check in to check out the entire experience was perfect! All appliances worked perfect, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed including a ton of spices! The back patio is perfect for dinner and drinks. The view of the bay is even better than the pictures portray and we got to watch fireworks from sea world each night! Courtney was incredibly welcoming and even made sure I got the package that was sent to the house the day before we arrived. And you really can't beat the location in the middle of literally everything in San Diego. What a great time! Just wished we could have stayed a few more nights!

San Diego Golfing
My 3 golf buddies and I decided to play golf in San Diego for several days. Courtney and John's home rental was the perfect location as it was right in the middle of the golf courses we wanted to play. You can tell they take pride in thinking about what their guest value as the kitchen had everything you needed to cook and eat. The backyard patio was comfortable and we grilled, watched ESPN (one night the world series, felt like we were in the stadium enjoying the cool crisp air outdoors). The beds were very comfortable. The oversize shower was perfect after a day of playing golf. Overall we found their modernized home comfortable and clean. Definitely coming back! Thank you Courtney and John!

Awesome!
Stayed in SD for the weekend with a group of friends. Courtney &John made sure everything was ready and made it very easy to check in. The house has three bedrooms. The "office" bedroom has a tv &a queen sized bed that is VERY comfortable. The back patio is nicely set up with a tv, couch/lounge area, grill and board games. Views from the house were really nice &don't forget to catch the fireworks from Sea World. This home is also located close to Pacific Beach & Gaslamp District. I would definitely recommend this place for future stays!

Why they chose this property
This is our main residence. As such we take meticulous care of it because we live there. We love to travel and it made sense to allow like minded travelers to enjoy our home while we are away. Although the house is only 977 square feet it is upgraded throughout with high end finishes. The covered back patio adds nearly double the size of usable space and creates a larger open feel to the house. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
