About this property
19th century Bastide amongst Olives Trees and Vineyard in the heart of Provence
3020 sqft house on 7ha land
Nestled at the foothills of the Alps of Provence, at walking distance of the medieval village of Aups, la Bastide "Le Petit Loup" has been lovingly restored to capture the authenticity of the original Provençal Campagne architecture. Tasteful, period décor and brand new amenities blend harmoniously in the ideal holiday setting where you can relax and enjoy yourself in the comfort of your own stand alone home, both pleasantly isolated from the village noise, and at a walking distance from all the necessary amenities.
Le Petit Loup is the ideal setting for a family reunion or a get together with friends.
A caretaker is close by to insure your stay is flawless. Whatever your number, you will be spoiled with choice: 9 luminous bedrooms, including 4 with en-suite bathrooms and 4 with share bathroom for 2 bedrooms, as well as a cosy bedroom for children or teenagers with 3 beds.
The house also has a large, well equipped kitchen extending onto a lovely outdoor open veranda and terrace for 'al fresco' dining
The comfortable living room is perfect for convivial gatherings, great for watching TV and playing games, or having a charming 'aperitif' around the working fireplace.
Grounds: The house is set on a terraced hillside on a large unspoiled land (7 ha wide), with hundreds of Olive Trees, which make our delicious Olive Oil, as well as centenarian plane trees and truffle oak trees.
The view is quite unique, with in its distance, the soothing sight of the Sainte Victoire Mountain of Aix en Provence and the Sainte Baume Mountain of Marseille, amongst the pine trees that extend throughout the valley below. Only nature in front of your eyes !
Plenty of shade when you want some rest from the Provencal sun!
The large veranda doors from the kitchen open onto a sunny dining terrace with table and chairs, perfect for meals and BBQ's.
A nice old stone basin transformed into a swimming pool area is located right next to the house with a nice sunny terrace. Sheltered from the wind, it is a perfect location for a nap or a relaxing aperitif in the sunset.
Surroundings: You could easily remain for days in a row on the property, enjoying nice walks on the grounds, as far as the little woods at the end of the property. But you won't regret setting out to explore the richness of this stunning region, famed for breathtaking landscapes and grandiose settings, steeped in the sights and smells of nature.
The sandy Mediterranean beaches are an easy day-trip (50min drive to Sainte Maxime), and you are a stone's throw from the celebrated lavender fields with their views of the pre-Alps in the distance. Another not-to-be-missed site for a day of spectacular scenery is the famous Grand Canyon du Verdon, reputed to be the deepest gorge in Europe.
Nearby, take a rest at the Lac de Sainte Croix, one of the largest freshwater lakes in France. It is a peaceful haven in the summer months with its quiet beaches, shady picnic area and free parking. Canoes and kayaks can be hired on site, electric boats are permitted. Enjoy a range of water and sport activities here, from sailing to climbing.
