Renovated Barn With River Views
16th Century Barn converted in 2013 situated in La Trimouille, Vienne, Poitou-Charentes, France - Central Village Location Close To All Amenities.
The Riverside Barn has been lovingly converted by the previous owners to create a stunning two bedroom accommodation and retaining some original features including exposed beams and floor levels.
The accommodation is accessed through imposing original wooden gates into a private entrance and sunny terrace. The Barn has an entrance hall leading to an open plan lounge/dining area with river views. The lounge offers two sofas for relaxing and English freesat TV , a DVD and CD player with a selection of discs for your use. The dining area has a table and 4 dining chairs with access to the terrace.
The kitchen is well equipped with oven/hob, microwave,fridge/freezer and dishwasher as well as a separate cloakroom with downstairs loo and laundry facilities.
Upstairs there are two spacious bedrooms. The master has a juliette balcony which catches the sun overlooking the terrace and lovely river views and has an ensuite shower room. The second bedroom has twin beds , a sofa and also has an ensuite shower room, all bed and bathroom linens are included ( if you are lucky enough to be staying longer than a week a change of linen is included. Both rooms have ample storage space, a hairdryer and have been tastefully decorated. On the landing is a sitting area which is well stocked with numerous books and games for your entertainment.
The inside of the gite is a treat , however, its outside that we hope you make the most of to enjoy the sunshine and river views. A generous terraced area offers a perfect space for alfresco dining whatever the time of day. There is garden furniture available for dining , relaxing in the shade and sunbathing , and a barbecue for your use throughout your stay.
The Barn is central within the village and there is a well stocked shop very close by for all your essentials ( wine, cheese, bread and Croissants of course!).
There is a friendly rustic French bar, bank, post office, Presse, hairdresser and flower shop, there is even a cinema !
We are ideally placed 1 hour from Poitiers, Limoges and Châteauroux which is great for exploring a number of the French departments and a perfect base for those of you who are lucky enough to be house hunting in this beautiful area.

About the host
Hosted by Nicola and Ken Voase

We are originally from North East of England and are retiring from the hustle and bustle and starting our dream of living in France
Why they chose this property
Having visited France for a number of years and viewed lots of properties when looking to buy, the Riverside Barn was the only property we would be proud to offer for rent. We fell in love with both the house and Gite and we are confident any visitors will too. The River views and charming village offer a lovely tranquil setting for a relaxing holiday while being a great base for exploring the surrounding area.
What makes this property unique
The Gite has been lovingly created from the existing barn by the previous owners who purchased the property over 16 years ago. Their eye for detail and fabulous taste has added the classy personal touch we are looking forward to maintain. River views from the main bedroom and a lovely river fronted sunny terrace to spend lazy days and evenings over a glass of wine sounds like heaven.
The river , we have been told ,offers great fishing without having to leave the garden!
