We were a group of eight, including 3 teenagers, and had a lovely stay at this property. There were several features of this property that I loved. First, there were the floor to ceiling windows in the bedrooms and living room which overlooked the blue waters. One of the bathrooms, (with jacuzzi), also had a beautiful arched window overlooking the waters. The outdoor area which included a dining space and a small pool had beautiful views & ample space to relax, enjoy breakfast or hangout in the pool.
Maria, the property manager, was extremely helpful, and prompt with communications. She arrived at the house during check-in, and drove us to and back from the grocery store. Thank you, Maria for your help and sweetness.
As lovely the house and the views are, don’t expect fancy. It is furnished simply. The mattresses, pillows, linens were clean and adequate, but not luxurious. But we were okay with it. With regards to ants, the house instructions were clear about being careful about not leaving open food around the house, and we were careful. But really, if a few ants in the house upsets you, this house is not for you. In a warm place, surrounded with nature, if you are not going to stay glassed-in, it is not a big surprise if ants or bugs get in!
Location: the house is close to the last local bus stop on the hill. It is better to walk down a couple of stops as sometimes the bus skipped the last stop. We used the bus or hiked up and down the steps - 15-20 mins to the grocery store and 35-40 mins to Marina de Praia, the beach (pebbles and not sand). But it was fun to see the houses of the local people and discover “Bob’s glass artwork” and get a little lost at times - certainly part of the charm of living in Praiano. I would highly recommend Alfonso, of Atrani luxury service, for his professionalism and great car service.
Praiano is more peaceful and we preferred it to Positano (which has nice, albeit, expensive shopping). We used buses to travel to Positano, Amalfi and Sorrento.
I gave this property 4 stars because the kitchen was bare (had olive oil & much-appreciated 2 bottles of cold water). I would like to suggest to the owner to provide the following for future guests: Salt, Pepper, Sugar, Coffee, Tea, Paper towel, Lighter/matches, 1 dry pasta pkt, and perhaps, dry basil. A new utensils scrubber, basic shower gel/shampoo, laundry detergent will also be appreciated. & Candles/lamp to be able to use the outdoor area in the night.
