An 18th century converted coach house in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. Near Hay on Wye, famous for it’s literary festival, Crickhowell (close affiliations with the Lord of the Rings) Llangorse Lake and River Wye. Nearby Llangorse Lake provides excellent pike fishing, rowing boats, sailing and water skiing whilst kayaking on the River Wye, mountain biking and a climbing/horse riding activity centre are all close by.

The space
The Old Coach House is a spacious, comfortable, very well equipped and much loved second home. It is tucked away down a cobbled path, close to LLangorse Lake and in the middle of The Brecon Beacons National Park. Trhere are spectacular views across the valley from the balcony and from the very pretty enclosed, private garden, with small raised pond, where you can enjoy a BBQ whilst looking over the field.s There are great walks from the house to Llangorse lake or up into the hills. For the more adventurous kayaking on the River Wye, sailing, fishing and water skiing on Llangorse lake and pony trekking and climbing are all within a very short distance. The towns of Hay on Wye (famous for its book shops and Literary festival) Crickhowell and Brecon are all within easy driving distance.
The Old Coach House has been imaginatively and sensitively converted to a very comfortable, well-appointed home. The sitting room si the perfect place to relax around the central wood-burnding stove, play some games (good selection supplied), pick a book from the many provided or gaze out of the window across the valley. Step out onto the balcony to enjoy the favouous views over the meadows and nearby Llangorse Lake to the hills beyond.
Cathedine Old Coach House is in an ideal location only one mile from the village of Bwlch with a local shop and village pub and 2 mil;es from the village of Llangorse with two pubs, village community shop and the largest fresh water lake in South Wales. Just outside the hamlet is an activity centre with a really good indoor climbing wall, an outdoor high ropes chanllenge and of course fantastic pony trekking on the mountains.
The Old Coach House has been carefully restored retaining a beamed top floor sitting room, comfortably furnished with two lovely sofas, some antinquye pieces and large rugs. The balcony is just the place to sit with a summer drink and take in the delightful views or use the telescope and watch the dark skies. The first International Dark-Sky reserve in Wales is situated in the Brecon Beacons – on a clear night you can see the Milky Way, major constellations, bright nebulas and even meteor showers.
The kitchen, with its original flagstone floor its extremely well-equiped with a range style cooker, with 5 gas hobs and double electyric oven, microwave, large fridge, extra freezer, dishwasher, ice cream maker, food mixer and bread maker and a set of Le Creuset cooking utensils.

Utility room has washing machine, tumble dryer, upright freezer and extra fridge.
The dining area has a long reflecttory table and for al fresco diving there is garden furniture, fire pit and a barbeque.

- Master bedroom with kingsize iron bedstead, off this room is a small dressing room with a small dressing room (space for a cot and/or campbed)
- Upstairs bathroom (accessed via the master bedroom) with bath, shower attachment, hand basin and toilet
Guest access:
All parts of the house and garden are available for guests. The house is approached down some steps and a cobbled path so may not be very accessible for the elderly or infirm

Other things to note:
Parking available for 2 cars only but a 3rd car may be parked by arrangement. Minimum let is 2 nights. The house is aviaalbe from 4pm on the day of arrival and we ask for the house to be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. One well behaved dog allowed by not to roam throhout the house – to be kept in the kitchen please! Bed linen is included in the price and the beds are made up prior to arrival. TOWELS ARE NOT INCLUDED but can be provided at an extra cost – please let me know if you require this facility.
