About this property
Sunny Apartment in the Old Town
The newly decorated 120 sq.m (1291.67 apartment is situated on the 3rd floor of the listed building. This authentic property is more than 100 years old and located in a traditional Georgian so called “Italian yard” in a quiet street, in the heart of the old Tbilisi. Apartment with high (4m/13ft) ceilings, 3 bedrooms (one twin bedroom with two single beds and comfortable sofa-bed, one double bedroom and cosy 3rd bedroom with two single beds), spacious kitchen-diner, 2 bathrooms (both with walk-in showers), 2 toilets and long wide veranda. The flat can easily accommodate up to 6-7 people.
The flat also benefits from 24/7 internet access, satellite TV (Eutelsat Hot Bird), washing machine, air conditioner/heater and fridge/freezer. Tea-kettle, microwave oven, toaster, cutlery, flatware, steam iron, hair dryer, children's high chair, bed linen, towels, shampoo, toilet paper, cleaning facilities etc. are provided. Please note that the apartment offers self-catering accommodation. There is no free daily cleaning service (unless you order and pay for it). Please don't dry anything on gas heating radiators on the balcony. It is unsafe and your things may be damaged. Children up to the age of 2 stay in the apartment free of charge. However if you would like an extra bed for the child or you have two children aged 2 and under you pay 50%. Children over 2 pay the full price. We hope that children stay in the apartment will be discussed in advance before booking.
Guests have access to the whole apartment to make themselves at home. Our accommodation is unfortunately not suitable for physically challenged guests. There is no wheelchair access and no lift. Children under 16 must be under the constant care and supervision of adults during the entire stay in the apartment. The legal guardians of children are responsible for the behaviour of the children, including any damage and injury they have made.
Guest are given flat keys and all instructions by the representatives. They live in the same building and communication is very easy. Transportation from the airport/railway station is also possible if needed. We have contact with a travel agency and private guide which provides tours around Tbilisi and to the most stunning places of Georgia (booking in advance is preferred).
The location of the flat is perfect, just 20-25 minutes walk to the historic centre with its famous sulfur thermal spa. It's in a quiet street (you will appreciate it, I promise!) with walking distance to Dry Bridge/Flea market, pedestrian-only Agmashenebeli Ave, Rustaveli Ave, Freedom Square, bus/"marshrutka" stops, local shops and take aways with traditional Georgian food - khachapuri, lobiani, apple pies. The restaurants in our area are very nice and much cheaper than in the centre. Make sure you try a restaurant called "Tiflis" on the Saarbrucken Sq. (please see photo) - ask for khinkali, ojakhuri, kebab, shashlik - grilled meats, salad with walnuts, beans in the pot with mchadi and marinated vegetables. Another good restaurant is on the river bank nearby.
If needed, there is a travel card for you to use, on the table in the kitchen area. You can load the card with any amount of money you like, and use it for travel on buses, the underground/metro, and the yellow minibuses - "marshrutkas". Marshrutkas price is usually GEL 0.80 (Lari - Georgian currency). A journey by bus and metro usually costs 0.50 Lari (50 tetri). Taxi is cheap in Tbilisi; however ALWAYS negotiate a price beforehand. A trip anywhere in the city should never cost more than 15 Lari (usually 5 Lari ). Please don't forget to leave the travel card for our next guests.

About the host
Hosted by Nina

I was born in Tbilisi and grew up in the flat which I've just listed here. Since September 2002 I have lived and worked in Bristol, UK. By the way Tbilisi and Bristol are twinned towns with an exciting history of friendship. I like all kind of music (jazz, blues, classic, rock'n'roll) but art is my biggest passion. My husband is an artist and all paintings in the flat are his original work. I love them. And....I don't eat animals, I am a vegetarian. I'm also a workoholic. In addition to my busy work for National Health Service I've just started a very ambitious charity project which will provide training programms in transfusion and transplantation medicine in Georgia. I hope that renting the flat in Tbilisi will help us to raise money for this project.
