Immaculate Waterfront Studio Apt, kayaks, hot tub, 45 min. to Acadia
Get away from it all at our peaceful and immaculate studio apartment nestled in the trees just steps from pristine Green Lake. Enjoy two hundred feet of gorgeous waterfront on two lovely acres. We are on a well maintained unpaved road with little traffic, affording peace and quiet. In the Loon's Nest, you'll find a comfortable queen sized bed that looks out on the lake. If you're an early riser, you can watch the sunrise from bed, but the door and windows all have blinds to lower if you plan to sleep in or nap. You're here to relax and rejuvenate! A microwave, small fridge, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, dishes and silverware are provided for light meal preparation. You have access to a gas barbecue grill as well. WiFi is provided.
No pets please and no smoking.
There are the two kayaks and a 15’ canoe available at the water's edge with life jackets provided.
Read and relax in the large hammock at the water’s edge or simply watch the leaves above you sway in the breeze. Take a long walk if you like. Swim in clean clear water at the end of our dock, where you can see 12 feet to the bottom. Green Lake is considered one of the premier lakes in Maine, with spring fed depths of up to 180 feet. Our dock is unusually spacious, with 2 Adirondack chairs at the end and two lounge chairs closer in. There are also additional lounge chairs on the lawn, providing plenty of places to relax.
If you decide to check out the area, Ellsworth is 15 minutes away. It has just about everything you might need or want. Small towns like Blue Hill, Surry, and Belfast are all less than an hour from our location and the city of Bangor is a half hour to our north.
The entrance to Acadia National Park is 40-45 minutes away, and has 45 miles of carriage trails to bike on (without road traffic) and gorgeous hiking trails that wind along the ocean or climb to amazing views. You can rent bikes or sea kayaks at several locations if desired. You might decide to drive to the top of Mt. Cadillac for a spectacular view, go whale watching, drive the scenic Park Loop Road, or enjoy charming towns like Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, and Northeast Harbor.
After a day enjoying the Ellsworth area or Acadia National Park, come back and take a nice cool swim. There's a swim ladder at the end of our dock and the apartment has beach towels for your use. The Loon's Nest does not have a television; we’re hoping that you connect with nature during your stay. We have friends and family who continually turn down day trips when they're here; all they want to do is relax and enjoy our wooded lakeside setting. Whether you decide to explore our beautiful area by car, get active, or just relax, we want you to have a wonderful time!

The host(s) were phenomenal. Truly a relaxing get-away. If you prefer a private, quiet, and overall low-key experience I recommend! The room was beautifully decorated, the bathroom was clean and everything in the cabinet was well thought out, the “kitchen” area was adorable and perfect, and the property outside provided an immaculate view- with a super relaxing hot tub! We came during the winter, so we couldn’t explore the lake. However, another trip is in the works so we can enjoy every part! Oh! The cookies they leave out are to DIE for!!!!10000/10

We would recommend this place if you just need a Lil get away its perfect location for Bar Harbor and the Acadia National park about 40 min away with plenty of places to eat or pick up a few groceries!! We absolutely Loved everything about it...
A very helpful host on a very nice lake. We enjoyed a peaceful morning kayak ride and wound down the night in the hot tub when on the property. Otherwise, we spent our days at Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and then another trip to the Southwest Harbor with the convenient location.
Clean, and beautiful decorated apartment with a few necessaties available. Beatiful views surronded by nature. And hot tub hit the spot!

It was so peaceful to come back to after a long day in Acadia national park .The hot tub was wonderful to relax. The lake was amazing to wake up to The last night the sky was so clear and nothing but stars . The homemade cookies were delicious. They had snacks ,water, there for you . They really thought of everything to welcome you . We will definitely be staying again.
I just wanted a quiet, private time with my wife and that is exactly what I Got. The views from this property are so beautiful. We truly enjoyed our stay here. There is something magical about the mountains, the lake, and the green trees cover with snow. 🙂🙂🙂
This is a very quiet Serene property Donner and Dave are excellent hosts! Love the peace and quiet and the lake and lots to do and shopping within an hour away. Don't know if we're special or not but the chocolate chocolate chip cookies or out of this world 👍 see you soon!
My sister and I booked this beautiful site for traveling through New England for her birthday. I recommend this spot for any couple or best friends looking to get away for a little peace, quiet and reconnecting. I read a book, had a camp fire, went kayaking. Took gorgeous pictures and even sat in the hottub without having to step off the property. Maines best kept secret

The view if the Lake, the call of the loons, couldn't have wanted for any more. So peaceful and relaxing. Our needs and wants were quickly addressed. Top notch!!
Simply a dream. Hosts are wonderfull. The cabin has every think you need. It's a peaceful place for evryone who likes the nature. A tour on the sea with the canoe is definitely a must.
We loved our stay. Location was wonderful proximity to hiking at Acadia daily. We enjoyed using the hot tub at night after a day of hiking. We ate dinner two nights at Helen’s restaurant portions were huge and dessert so yummy. Donna and Dave have created a relaxing environment and they are available to answer any questions. Rental is clean, tastefully decorated and includes the essentials with lots of thoughtful extras to make your stay enjoyable. .
We had a lovely time at the Loon's Nest. We spent an entire day on the dock and it was spectacular. Just the rest and relaxation my husband and I were looking for. The water is crystal clear, and they have 13 Loon's on the lake. Donna was very responsive with our requests. We had a camp fire every evening, cooked on their grill, and enjoyed the hot tub.

It was a pleasure to meet you both; come again when you can!
Donna's place was nothing but amazing and awesome! The entire room is so cute and follows the theme of a loon, a bird that lives in the nearby lake. The place is so convenient in terms of location (right on the lake) and the amount of amenities that the property offers is endless (from kayaks to S'mores sticks). Donna and her husband were quick to respond to any questions or requests and delivered unbeatable and the best customer service. If you're ever in the area or exploring Acadia National Park, this is definitely the place to stay in!!!

It was our pleasure to host you and Grace, Matt! Enjoy the rest of your summer!
What a perfect little getaway to Maine. Donna and Dave are the most welcoming hosts. You will feel at home staying here. They have a comfy bed, kayaks to use, hot tub and a bbq. The lake is beautiful and we got to see our very own sunrise from it. It’s about 45 minutes to Acadia but an easy straight ride and local for all that you need. We will come again. Great place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle. Thank you again Donna and Dave.

Thank you for the kind words, Kathy; it was our pleasure hosting you and Frank! I hope our paths cross again :-)
This property was astounding, and my friend and I enjoyed staying there very much. The access to the dock was amazing, the space was comfortable, and the access to the hot tub and grill were great too. If you book this place, just be aware that there is NOT A KITCHEN! We did not realize this before arriving, and had a bunch of groceries that couldn't be stored. It is also on the owner's property, so they will be there. Overall, and amazing stay!

Not a full kitchen, for sure, but the studio does have a small fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes and so on for light meal prep. Sorry you were disappointed in that, Amanda. You're right, it's so important to read all the details.
Donna and Dave treated us as treasured guests. The apartment was beautifully set up with absolutely everything we needed and more, even ingredients for smores. The hot tub was the perfect temperature and we enjoyed it each night. We made use of the fire pit and grill 2 nights.
Communication was easy, the only problems we had were with the Stayz site.
If we lived in the US we would return. We have precious memories of our visit.
Donna and Dave have put a lot of effort into delivering the best experience possible to their guests. It is evident in everything from the cleanliness of the property, to everything they supply you with during your stay. They are always available to answer any question you might have, and to assist you with anything you want to do during your stay. If you decide to book the Loon’s Nest you will not regret it for a second, but do it quickly before someone beats you to the punch.

Thank you for your kind words, Josh. You and Erica were wonderful guests and make our efforts a pleasure!
We are two seventy-somethings who love the outdoors, wanting a quick get-a-way where we could enjoy nature and relax, yet not have the hassle of camping. This sweet cozy little place, hidden away at the lake's edge, was all we could ask for and more. The studio apartment charmed us with its lake front view and cheerful design. The owners were so welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the hot tub, watching the birds and squirrels, and listening to the loons calls. We made a couple quick trips to Ellsworth to enjoy lunch and breakfast out and a bit of shopping, but basically we wanted to spend most of our time at the Loon's Nest. We do plan to return, this place has captured our hearts!
