Delightful family cottage with large garden, amazing sea views, in Solva village
Whether you stride or stroll off to the headland, skip down the path to the harbour or simply enjoy the garden, you will find this charming cottage ideally situated with it's superb views of the sea and islands lying off the coast of Pembrokeshire's National Park, and very close to it's renowned Coastal Path. Tastefully furnished with antiques and colourful fabrics, it is well planned and offers everything for a relaxing trouble-free holiday. The south-facing patio is bathed in sunshine, a place to share your breakfast with the robin and black bird, where you may prefer to lunch under the parasol, and (if you are lucky) a candle lit dinner is often possible. The large, lawned garden is so enticing that some hardly venture further afield, however the coastal path is a minute away, as is the path down to the harbour with safe swimming, sand and rock- pools at low-tide and 'crabbing', sailing, fishing.....
The bustling village of lower Solva has lots to offer - restaurants, pubs, shops, galleries, supplies, Restaurants, Pubs and Fresh Crab: Five minutes walk away is the village store and off-licence (open everyday 8 till late) here you can buy most essentials, it also has a Post Office section (norm. opening hours). New automated fresh local milk distribution point. The farm shop Penpant is 1.5 km away for fresh fruit and veg.
St.Davids has a good supermarket (delicious fresh bread baked throughout the day) and a lovely delicatessence. The closest large town, Haverfordwest has umpteen supermarkets, some providing on-line order. There is a local catering service that will provide wonderful meals as and when you require them.
In the village, four local pubs all provide excellent food in addition to the three restaurants that cater for those 'special' evenings. DOWN ON THE QUAI there is a licenced tea-room for snacks and sandwiches and, if you are lucky, you might manage to persuade a fisherman to part with some of his catch. Just up the road from the cottage you can buy superb DRESSED-CRAB and lobster... an absolute MUST before you leave.
Further afield: Apart from the beaches, boats and coastal activities there are so many wonderful things to do and places to visit that it is impossible to list them all, but there are pottery's to potter in, chocolate factories to...well,.....eat chocolate in!, farms where you can feed and touch the animals, light-houses you can climb up, life- boats to explore, sheltered gardens to discover,..... go-karts to whizz around on, the coast to view from an aeroplane, take a flying lesson, enjoy a round of golf, or have a family day at the fantastic theme park...
A FREE TOURIST JOURNAL is readily available in all shops, petrol stations restaurants etc. and will provide ALL the information that you can possibly require to make the most of your stay. READ IT WHEN YOU FIRST ARRIVE !!!! Our visitors book will also offer many suggestions and useful comments.

my family & i all agree that George House is a wonderful home from home holiday property .
year after year we have enjoyed holiday in this beautiful part of the country.
as aholiday property,George House excels with spectacular views & a large garden .it is a perfect spot to while away the houres each day & a wonderful base to explore the area.
The photos in the ad don’t do this lovely cottage justice. It is spacious, lovingly kept and decorated, well equipped and the garden and view are to die for. We felt very much at home there. The cottage was spotlessly clean when we arrived and we found Welsh cakes and a jar of honey to welcome us. The only slight downside: the ceilings are very low so taller people will have to mind the beams and front door. The location is excellent: quiet and within walking distance from the restaurants and pubs in lower Solva. We had the most wonderful weather to explore the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast, there is so much to see and do and Solva is perfectly located. We did not meet our host Patty but in our online contact she was quick to respond and very helpful. All in all we loved this place and would gladly stay there again.
George house made our holiday into one of the best. My 80 year old mother-in-law and my two kids wanted to stay much longer! It has everything. Cosy, clean, well equipped and beautiful. Even the huge gorgeous garden has stunning views. It is close to everything you need & we didn't use our car often. Many thanks Patricia - you made us feel at home.

Superb home away from home.
My husband and I have enjoyed a fantastic week. George House is charming, clean and comfortable. The view never fails to enlighten. Central location and very close to coastal path. There is no compromising with efficient wi fi, comfie beds, efficient hot water system and quality white goods. I'm looking forward to home but know I will miss our very relaxing week here.
This property in Solva was perfectly positioned for exploring the Pembrokeshire coast path, with a range of wonderful but manageable walks and beaches. The house is in a great position with lovely views of the cliffs and the sea from the house and the garden / we had breakfast and dinner outside for several warm September days. Only 6 minutes drive from St David’s but so much better to have the sea views from this house in Solva and the harbour is also very pretty. The house is very comfortable- well equipped kitchen, good WiFi etc. Great place to stay to get the best of Pembrokeshire.

George House - cottage in Solva
Gorgeous cottage in a wonderful setting! The cottage was truly a home from home and had everything there that we could possibly need. It was perfect for our family (2 adults and 3 young children) - plenty of room and a big garden with a beautiful view! Location was good. Just a very short walk from the harbour (where there are lot's of crabs to catch), cafe's and a small park. Short driving distances to nearby beaches (Pembrokeshire has the best beaches in the country!). We particularly liked Whitesands. Also visited Folly Farm which was good value for money with lot's of animals, fairground rides (had to pay separately for these) and a massive soft play area.
The Chinese takeaway, which is run from the pub a few doors down, is worth a visit. We had a lovely meal from there on our last night.
All in all, this cottage comes highly recommended. We couldn't have asked for a nicer week away!

Thank you for such a glowing review. We're delighted that you all had such a good holiday.
We enjoyed our stay in Solva. There was much to like also about this property; in particular the beautiful, well-maintained garden with its spectacular view; and the well-equipped kitchen.
We were reluctant to spend time in the lounge because it was cold, dark and smelt strongly of damp and wood smoke. However, the main complaint we have about this property was that it advertised a designated parking space, and this was not true. Parking on sufferance at a local pub is very different from a designated parking space. Had we known the true situation we would not have booked this property.
We had a wonderful three weeks in George House and enjoyed every minute of it. The house is very well kept and full of little details, which make it so very homely. The kitchen is fully equipped and there was nothing we missed. On top of everything there is the lovely garden with its stunning views and where you will find many things to discover. We loved sitting on one of the garden benches in the evenings enjoying a glass of wine. As very keen walkers we were glad that the beautiful fantastic coastal footpath was so close to the house. From there you have fabulous sceneries towards St. Davids and beyond as well as towards Broad Haven and Little Haven. We can recommend the „Cambrian Inn“ and the „Hats and Barrels“ for an evening meal out. Both are easy to reach and within walking distance. Same goes for the local pubs and cafés. Shopping is just a couple of minutes up the road, where the „Bayview Store“, although very small, has a good choice of articles, including fresh seafood (we loved the dressed crab). We also grew very fond of Patricia and Mario, the owners of the house. Although they were both quite a long way away, they were very caring and we felt close to them. We were very interested in the history of the house, since it is very old. Patricia and Mario dug out some documents and shared very interesting information with us. To round everything up, we had a fabulous time at George House and look forward to returning.
This is a beautiful house overlooking the bay of Solva. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend for other families. Solva is perfectly located to explore the Pembrokeshire coast and is only a stone's through from the wonderful St David's.
Very comfortable & well equipped house. Garden & views superb. Great location for walking & access to St Davids. Solva it self is a lovely village. Plenty of pubs, good local shop & seafood abounds.
A beautiful homely property the very opposite of a soulless holiday rental. The house was spotlessly clean, warm and inviting and very well equipped. The views are just stunning and unexpected. It was an absolute joy to return to after days spent walking anf fishing. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful home.
Dear Geoff, I hope your abbreviated review was intended …we don’t want to leave…. As I gather you really enjoyed your stay in George House and hope to welcome you again in the future.
The photos don’t do this property justice! You could see the gorgeous view of the beach beyond the garden from several windows. Property was well equipped and spacious and the property manager was helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend!
Lovely cottage in the heart of Pembrokeshire. The views from the house and garden are outstanding and such a good base to explore the the beautiful coastline 🥰
beautiful view from the back garden - we will definitely re-visit for that view. The best equipped cottage we've stayed at for 15yrs. 3rd bedroom quite small for a teenager - shame the back bedroom wasn't in use. But, overall - a great 2 weeks!
Beautiful character cottage with stunning views in the heart of Solva
The cottage lived up to expectations and more. Great location - pubs within walking distance and coastal path 3 mins away. Well equipped kitchen with all facilities you might require. Garden very well looked after and stunning views from the garden, living room and upstairs landing. Very sweet cottage with a surprising amount of space.
Beautiful cottage with stunning garden in a great location. Really well appointed and spotlessly clean and the owner was a pleasure to deal with. Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful week
The cottage is, indeed, delightful – cosy, yet spacious enough, well-equipped, and with a sizeable sloping garden that offers superb views out to sea. With a stunning coastline on the doorstep, the charming harbour at Solva a few minutes' walk away, and excellent beaches just a few miles in the car, it's a perfect location for coastal walks, visiting Skomer and Ramsay islands, coasteering, kayaking, body boarding and surfing.
The cottage was spotless when we arrived, and Patricia was extremely helpful during our stay, answering texts and emails promptly whenever we had queries. In fact, the communication from the moment we booked was excellent.
Great accommodation in a wonderful part of the world. We were sorry to have to leave at the end of the week, but all good things have to come to an end!

About the host
Hosted by Patricia Pellegrini Temple
My family discovered Solva when I was a child who loved sailing. 60 years later, still a keen sailor, although living abroad we return every year and never tire of the beauty of the bay and the charming Solva community.
Why they chose this property
Nothing compares with sitting in the garden, (or the bay window or new landing window) with a glass of wine and just soaking up the view across the bay to Skolmer Island. In moonlight it is utterly magical. (The international space station passes overhead, approx every 20mins) Inside, is full of character, but is practical, warm, and well equipped, with original art work on the walls. Perfectly positioned for the local store, and pub and only a stones throw from the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path,, walk as far as you like and return by bus.
What makes this property unique
Breathtaking views Large enclosed garden. No through-roads to cross on way to harbour. Close to Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, harbour and amenities.
