Home was nice and clean in a nice little town. Check in was super easy and the hosts always got back to me in a reasonable time. No issues with our stay at all and we had an amazing week with our trip!
We went up to the Black Hills for skiing over New Years and stayed at this property. It was perfect for our group of 2 adults and 5 girls. It was nice to be super close to Terry Peak. I also enjoyed being in Lead as that meant we were close to restaurants and a grocery store. I would highly recommned this property.
Beautiful older home with remodels. Comfortably sleeps 6 in three separate rooms. Well stocked with condiments, large kitchen and dining area. Very close to Deadwood, but a bit far for quick trips to Custer State Park or Southern parts of the Black Hills. We enjoyed our stay!! Thank you!

Great family vacation!
Our family of 5 stayed the holiday weekend in Lead. House was fantastic- had everything you need! We just went to the grocery store and made ourselves at home. Lead is a great small town, 4th of July parade and fireworks plus lots of vendors and kid activities downtown. We visited Deadwood, Mt. Rishmore, and Crazy Horse during the day and returned to a relaxing evening at the house. Patio area is great for enjoying the weather.

Thank you Travis. We enjoyed hosting you and hope to stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay! The keyless entry check-in process was great so didn't matter what time we showed up. The place was spacious-enough room for everyone to relax after long days of playing tourists! The house was clean and stocked to meet our needs. The kids (and adults) loved seeing the deer in the morning and everyone got a kick out of literally being at the top of the mountain! Thanks for a great stay!
This property was a fantastic place to stay for a winter visit to the Black Hills. It was such a comfortable place to come back to after a day of skiing or snowmobiling. It was well stocked with everything we needed to bring our groceries and have yummy meals cooking in the crockpot while we were out playing in the snow! We loved this home and highly recommend it for a visit to the Deadwood area!

So happy you had a great trip. We'd love to host you again b
This is a very nice house situated in a very quit hillside neighborhood. We were happy with the amenities and the house is very comfortable. We especially liked the Grill and patio as well as the nicely equipped kitchen. Additionally, the location is great (the town of Lead is, itself, quite interesting) and it is an easy and very scenic drive to locations such as Deadwood, Sturgis, Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial. We would definitely stay here again were it available.
Home was spacious and clean. It had all the amenities and location was close to hiking spots and other attractions

Great property and location
We really enjoyed staying at this house. It is in great shape, lots of room, clean and comfortable. It was easy to access when we arrived, just as we were instructed - no problems. There were 4 of us, all on motorcycles and there was ample parking. It was nice being up on the hill, overlooking the surrounding area. It is a quiet neighborhood so we didn't have any disturbances. We spent 6 nights there and were away all day, every day except one, so I can't comment on what it was like around the neighborhood during the day. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean and work fine. Plenty of closet and storage space, though we didn't need much of that. Most of the time spent there was eating and sleeping. We cooked breakfast and dinner there every day and the kitchen has everything we needed. It was great having a dishwasher, washer and dryer for the week. There's a big gas grill on the deck too, which we used often. There are TV's around the house but we didn't watch much. The house is located close to a grocery store and 2 gas stations which is primarily what we needed away from the house. It's also well located with respect to what we came to see - roads to ride and major attractions like Mt. Rushmore, Devil's Tower, Crazy Horse and the Badlands. Being on motorcycles, the ride to these places was just as nice as being at them. There were only a few minor inconveniences. The cleaning crew had not been there from the previous guests so the beds were not made and the laundry (towels/sheets) were not done when we arrived. However, the house was still clean and neat and the owner offered to have them come back the next day and made good on it. There were other sheets and towels so we didn't need it and the owner kindly refunded our cleaning fee. The other thing was that there was a pump for the house water. It made a noise when it ran and it ran on-and-off when water was used at any time. When it ran, the pressure would drop a bit. It was a little annoying but maybe that's the only way to get water pressure in this house and it's just something I'm not used to. We were asked to do a load of towels and take out the trash before we left which was fine as it helped the cleaners get everything else done prior to the next guests arrival. None of this would not stop me from using this house again if I ever wanted to come back to this area and I still highly recommend it to anyone as a great place to stay! Thank you very much, Amy!

About the host
Hosted by Amy Zaiss
Hi I'm Amy. I'm so glad you are considering staying at our vacation home. First about us, we have been married for 16 years and have two terrific kiddos. Our family loves to travel and we love to spend time at our house on top of the hill. We fell in love with South Dakota (Lead) and knew we would one day own a quaint old house - we got lucky finding our house - it was in the middle of a complete remodel and had only drywall up when we purchased it - from the texture to the furniture, we were able to make it ours. We live in Colorado on a small farm that keeps us busy along with "real" work and growing kid activities.
