A beautiful 16th century luxury chocolate box cottage with large private Jacuzzi, for your exclusive use from 8am through to 10pm, and barrel sauna. Perfect for a romantic break, for ramblers and cyclists exploring Suffolk and Norfolk.
Pub: 1 mile. Shop, garage, restaurants, walks: 4 miles. Spa: 5 miles. Golf: 7 miles.
THE SPACE
Oak Cottage is a beautiful Grade II listed home dating back to 1550 with large ingkenook fireplaces in both the lounge and kitchen and exposed beams throughout.
Oak Cottage has a lovely courtyard garden where there is a 4 seater Jacuzzi and barrel sauna for your private use, with a pizza oven and bbq and comfy Rattan garden furniture.
It can be booked with neighbouring Owl’s Hoot one bedroom romantic barn, also listed on HomeAway if you want more accommodation.
Both properties are located in the village of Stoke Ash, near Eye, with all necessary amenities within easy reach.
For romantic breaks and special occasions, why not ask us to have a chilled bottle of wine and chocolates ready for your loved one? We can also put up an anniversary or birthday banner in the cottage. Please do ask us about these extras if you are booking for an extra special stay.

Spacious lounge: Large Smart TV, sofa / chair, woodburner.
Kitchen Area: Range style cooker with gas hob and electric fan oven, microwave, large fridge / freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, all utensils and cooking equipment, dining table and chairs.
Bedroom 1: King size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables,.
Bedroom 2: Super-king size bed or 2 single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers.
Shower Room: Shower cubicle, washbasin and wc.
Garden: Pretty courtyard garden with private 4 setter jacuzzi. This is a peaceful rural area and we please ask you to be respectful of our neighbours and ensure they are not disturbed by any noise between 10pm and 8am, from inside your holiday home, or from your holiday cottage garden. The hot tub switches off automatically at 10pm and reactivates at 8am. There is a surcharge of £99 if it is activated outside of these hours and it will be switched off automatically.
Parking: Ample roadside parking is available on the quiet lane outside the property.
Heating: Gas central heating throughout and two woodburners.
Notes: Wi-Fi, towels and a starter pack of logs and kindling for the woodburner are provided. Please note this is a village and WiFi speeds are not as fast as in towns or cities.

The village of Stoke Ash has plenty to offer those looking to visit this beautiful part of the county.
Within the village there is the local pub, The White Horse Coaching Inn, which was voted the 'best bar' within the area by the Diss Express, the local newspaper.
Within one and a half miles the thatched Four Horseshoes is thought to be the oldest pub within Suffolk with a 12th century well inside its restaurant.
The lovely vegetarian and vegan restaurant The Walnut Tree is just 3 miles from Oak Cottage, offering both meals in and take aways.
The historic market town of Diss, with coffee shops, restaurants and pubs overlooking the pretty mere, are within approximately ten minutes by car. Eye and Framlingham, communities with castles, independent shops including a chocolatier and butchers are close by, as are picture postcard villages.
Thornham Walks, with 12 miles of woodland walks around an historic estate are within a few miles and there are many beautiful lanes and sites to explore by bicycle too.
The Suffolk coast including communities of Aldeburgh and Southwold, the Norfolk Broads, Ipswich with river cruises on offer, and the cathedral cities and towns of Norwich and Bury St Edmunds bustling with history and fine restaurants, are all easily accessible for day trips.
Getting around
Oak Cottage is the perfect romantic hideaway surrounded by fields and yet also within easy reach of the A140, A14 and hourly / half hourly intercity Norwich to Diss, Stowmarket, Ipswich, Manningtree, Colchester and London train line.
The village has it’s own taxi firm if you are arriving by train and is perfect for a self-catering holiday on the Suffolk / Norfolk border.
