La Serena is set amidst fields of golden sunflowers with views across rolling Umbrian hills, the "green Heart" of Italy. The large villa sits in extensive gardens with a large swimming pool and has been carefully designed as your luxury home-from-home with exceptional accommodation and reliable modern amenities, including air conditioning, disabled access and adapted accommodation and a professional kitchen. Additionally, each bedroom has large en-suite bathroom facilities.

La Serena features professionally-designed spacious bedrooms/suites – with private balconies or outside space. The fully-equipped professional kitchen is very large, with catering-standard cooking implements of assorted sizes. A vast assortment of commercial crockery and cutlery mean you can prepare at least 2-3 meals without washing up. A large dishwasher, two fridges and a freezer are available plus two ovens and a microwave oven – a washing machine is also available included in your rental fee. House cleaning is also included!

There are both indoor and outdoor dining areas that comfortably seat 14 people giving you lots of choice for sociable meal-times. A comfortable lounge area with a large TV screen, satellite TV, Blu-ray and DVD players & Wii Games Station.

La Serena is ideal for a family gathering, friends re-union or that special group get-together. La Serena has been used by companies as a professional venue for company or department meetings or a training get-away - with a large meeting room, breakout areas and equipment available.

For a relaxing self-catering holiday, La Serena is the perfect base for visiting cultural and spiritual places of interest and for immersing yourself in the rich history of the surrounding medieval cities of Perugia, Assisi, Todi and Orvieto.

The stunning Lake Trasimeno is very close-by with safe and beautiful beaches, watersports and wonderful views. Lots of interesting lake-side places to explore for children from 0-99!!

Family Stay

This property was a great location for a small family reunion. There was plenty of room and the pool and property were beautiful. The kitchen has everything you could need. And the views from the balconies are stunning.

Country villa experience

The villa is well equipped and very spacious. The suites are large and comfortable. The grounds and pool area are tended to frequently. We went for wine tasting and there are so many close by ( some 5 to 10 minutes away) even our furthest was about a 40 minute drive. I would certainly stay here again.

Perfect place to visit Perugia and the rest of Umbria

Both the owner and the manager were excellent in their availability and responsiveness, loads of information made available by them, very useful. Pool is immense, kitchen is also very large. Numerous bedrooms, two fridges very usefull. Proximity to Perugia is excellent! Lots of space. Very much enjoyed our stay with friends and family.

A wonderful stay

A wonderful, spacious, air conditioned holiday house. Very well situated for visiting Perugia, Lake Trasimeno and Umbrian hilltop villages. Great space with seven large ensuite bedrooms. It's also the best equipped house we have ever stayed in. The swimming pool was ideal for the mixed age range. Gunter, the owner, was most helpful (providing useful information in advance) and Gill, the local manager, dealt extremely efficiently and quickly with a couple of small issues. Would thoroughly recommend this property and wouldn't hesitate to return in the future - great value for money.

Umbria Villa

The villa was spacious, well equipped kitchen and bedrooms. The outside was well manicured with a lovely pool, pizza oven and gas grill. Gill was delightful and answered all questions and met us to do a walk thru of the the villa. She even left us dinner the first night of our arrival and was always available when needed. . Much appreciated.

It is a fantastisch house for 16 persons. The facilities in the house are good.

We enjoyed our stay in La Serena. It is a great house for 2 - 3 families.. The swimming pool is nice and large enough to play volleyball. Esch bedroom has its own bathroom. Perugia is not faraway from La Serena. We recommend to visit the old villages close to La Serena. Furthermore, it is great to visit the various cantina for wine tasting.. The host and landlord are friendly and suppotive.

Fantastic vacation in La Serena, Umbria

We stayed for a full week in La Serena. We were 8 adults and 6 kids. It was very comfortable and spoiling, the pool is fantastic and the rooms are very comfortable and well air-conditioned. Large and specious dining room, large and very well equipped kitchen. Excellent location in the heart of Italy, close to Perugia, Asisi, Tuscany and much more, in a beautiful spot. Only few minutes driving to local grocery stores as well as bars and other shops. Also 15 minutes from a lovely water park whichr the kids loved! Gunter and Gill were totally attentive to our needs and responded very quickly to calls and mails. Thank you Gunter and Gill, you made our family vacation great!

Wow Wow Wow. Where do I start? From the moment we booked our stay Gunter started to shape how we would frame our annual two week family holiday. He kindly sent us a list of suggested things we could do. We have only done a fraction of what Umbria and the surrounding areas have to offer. The scenery, landscape, hospitality, food and welcome we were given was absolutely the best. Let’s move onto the property. The online details and photographs do not do the property justice's. The driveway upto the property is the first sign of what awaits. Shaded parking for four vehicles numerous seating areas outside and a pool which is ideal for cooling down after enjoying the fantastic weather. Inside the property continues to impress. A spacious entrance with stairs leading to the first floor. The living dining room is ideal for our 9 adults and 3 grandchildren to sit and enjoy meals and fun filled evenings when eating in. The kitchen was magnificently equipped with everything you could ever want to produce top quality dining. On the ground floor there is a family bedroom and a further twin bedroom both with en-suites and to the first floor there is a further five substantial double bedroom with the majority being nearer suites than doubles. The whole property is fantastically appointed. Gunter the host was constantly available if required and Alicia his local agent and Drisse solved any bits and pieces rapidly. What an amazing experience very well done Gunter a massive thank you.

Great family vacation in Umbria

This well-maintained, spacious house is centrally located to a number of venues and activities. The estate is an excellent choice for an extended family or large group of friends. We had 13 people including 5 children and had more than enough space. The kitchen is well stocked and even boasts an industrial sized meat slicer. The wood-fired outdoor pizza oven is a nice perk. There are two large refrigerators. There is no automatic ice cube maker. The dining room and most bedrooms have wall mounted air conditioning units that provide area coverage. There is a washing machine, but drying occurs on racks. We were there in July. Clothes dried in 20 minutes. The pool is exquisite! The owner and others are courteous, very responsive and addressed any concerns quickly. The property manager, is available via text and promptly replies. The groundskeeper/handyman cleans the pool twice per week and keeps the grounds in top shape. The conscientious housekeeping staff comes in once per week to change bedding and provide clean towels. We had a wonderful stay in beautiful Umbria and highly recommend La Serena.

La Serena

Nine of us enjoyed a wonderful 2-week holiday and the property is well appointed particularly in the kitchen. This property used to operate as a cooking school/B&B, there are almost too many kitchen cupboards and too much stuff but this shouldn’t be taken as a criticism, it’s just a slight pain when looking for something specific. My criticism would be for the outside space, this is not well planned or designed. The BBQ and pizza oven are at the back with no lighting so I found myself cooking with a head torch. Once the food is cooked, it is then walked round to the front to be eaten. There is no back door straight into the kitchen. The pub table at the back is uneven and again no lighting so not an option for alfresco dining. This property is not cheap and as such it should provide better options for utilising all of the space both inside and outside. An absolute must if you visit is the old castle on the hill behind. It’s literally a 5 minute walk and you will be greeting with a small self catering hotel, a warm welcome and wonderful food. We ate there several times, once for a BBQ and another for a wine tasting with food. This place should be in the guide book of what to do in the area @La Serena

Das beste vorweg: eine super Küche, mit allem was man braucht, um alle glücklich zu machen. Der Pizzaofen ist super, großer Gasgrill … Der Pool hat vor allem den Kindern gefallen, das Grundstück bietet immer ein Plätzchen im Schatten und das Castello Montiglione gleich nebenan bietet eine schöne Aussicht mit hervorragendem Essen! Etwas enttäuscht waren wir vom Trasimenosee, dieser hat uns nicht sehr angesprochen im Sommer - recht viele Algen und Insekten, so dass wir nach einem Ausflug zur Isola Polvese uns nicht zum Baden dorthin wagen wollten… Perugia und Assisi sind sehr sehenswert, mit viel Flair, Rundum ein schöner Familienurlaub in Umbrien! Günter, der Vermieter hat im Vorfeld eine umfangreiche Liste mit Unternehmungen und Lokalen zur Verfügung gestellt, vielen Dank nochmal!

Schöner Urlaub

Die Villa ist groß genug (wir waren drei Familien). Falls gewünscht, findet man aber auch eine ruhige Ecke. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet inkl. zahlreicher Kochbücher. Wir haben hier zwei schöne Wochen verbracht. Bei allen Fragen stand uns Gill jederzeit zur Verfügung.

Superbe maison tres bien équipée

La maison est très agréable, grande et très bien équipée. La piscine est très grande et bien orientée. Il y a plusieurs terrasses à tester en fonction du soleil. Les propriétaires sont charmants et nous ont accueilli avec qq légumes et produits pour notre 1ère soirée. La cuisine professionnelle est exceptionnelle. La maison contient des jeux et livres. Bref nous avons passé un superbe séjour très agréable.

Where else would you find a region like Tuscany - but without mass tourism? This is perfect Italy as most people imagine it. For all lovers of food, wine and olive oil, it is like a paradise on earth.

Our area offers a fantastic mixture of beautiful landscape (perfect for hiking and mountainbike tours), amazing towns and villages (rich in art and history) and an ever-growing list of very nice restaurants and wineries.

What makes this property unique

La Serena is very strongly built, totally earthquake-proof and stays naturally cool in summer and naturally warmer in winter. Many local friends with older properties want to come and see or stay with us in winter in order to warm up! :)
After recent renovations, we can also provide air conditioning for hot summers and a pool heating for spring and autumn guests.

Our guests say that La Serena has that 'WOW' factor and all want to return for at least another holiday - the reality they find is always better than they imagine from the publicity!
