There is no accurate way to describe how perfect this property is. First the welcome was warm and genuine. The place spotless and simply but comfortably furnished especially the beds. The kitchen equipment and utensils new and plentiful. Finally if we needed anything we just had to ask.
For a relaxing vacation in a beautiful and interesting part of France we could not have chosen better. Thank you Anne and John.

Bob and Pascale, our Franco-American guests for this past month, have been great to host. Respectful of the property, flexible about things, and above all friendly and interesting to have, as they explored their way across Aquitaine from this cosy little bolt hole.

Anette and family were charming, excellent guests, a pleasure to have them stay here with us, in this interesting converted old winery from 1819, on the edge of the Entre Deux Mers wine plateau between St Emilion and Bergerac.
About the host
Hosted by Anne and John
We're a Franco British family, and we like to share time between our home here in South West France and our London home. We have spent many years living and working in France, and feel at home here, where, as the French would say tongue in cheek, we're happy to suffer alongside them.
Why they chose this property
We discovered this original, unspoilt 200 year old stone winery crying out to be saved. It was falling down when we bought it, but it had such charm that we wanted to preserve it, especially as it is also just in front of our main house "Chemin de Gargamelle'.
What makes this property unique
The building has a lovely feel and character, with the wood burner in the fireplace, under the massive beams leading up to the mezzanine. Plus all the practical benefits of a brand new kitchen and dining area, with its own external dining patio, and wholly refurbished bedroom and bathrooms in a simple yet comfortable style, that lets the property express its own character.
There's a lovely feeling of old country charm and tranquility in the farmhouse. We're in the hamlet of St Martial, part of the commune and village of Ligueux, one of the smallest communes in Acquitaine with just 170 residents, but surrounded by lovely, varied countryside, including vineyards, woods, orchards and fields. A lovely place for a country holiday, but close to major centres like Ste Foy la Grande, Bergerac and St Emilion.
