Villa Gaia Modern is a brand-new house built in 2018. The villa is suitable both for​ families and groups of people who want to have unforgettable​ vacations in Crete. It is situated in a quiet area in the village Skouloufia, 18km away from Rethymno. The villa is built in two floors layout. It has two yards, a barbecue area and a private parking. The house has four verandas overall, one of them in front of the pool, where the guests can relax and enjoy their food or drink along with the beautiful view to the sea and the town of Rethymno, but also to the countryside and the mountain Psiloritis. It is suitable for up to 8 people. There are four bedrooms, all with ​view to the sea.​ Two of the bedrooms have double​ beds and the other two have two twin beds each. All of the bedrooms have access to the verandas. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious​ dining and living room with fireplace and a smart Sat-TV. The house has two bathrooms, one of them equipped with a jacuzzi​. Around the villa, there are many villages with tavernas, mini markets, gas stations and pharmacies nearby, as well as many historical sightseeings like the Arcadi Monastery and the archaeological site and the museum of the Ancient Eleytherna. The nearest beach is only 6 km away from the villa and the city of Rethymno is only 18kms away.

Amazing Villa

This is a beautiful villa, very modern and perfect for a family holiday. The pool isn’t too deep and is the same depth throughout so perfect for children. The views from the villa are stunning and we would recommend staying in this villa. The owner is also lovely and very helpful if you need anything.

Perfect trip

The property was stunning, plenty of room for everyone , spotlessly clean and a good location with fantastic views. The host was fantastic and his Mum even cooked us a home made meal on our first night which was both unexpected and greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back.

Very relaxing stay in a quiet and beautiful place

We very much enjoyed the stay in this beautiful house. The house provides a lot of space and we enjoyed the pool a lot. The owner familiy provided us a very nice welcome with freshly cooked food and a filled fridge. This was very convenient, since we (2 adults + 2 kids) arrived late in the evening. A Perfect Start to a Relaxing HolidayWe had a truly lovely time at the villa. Everything was exactly as described – clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. What a stay

Absolutely loved it. House is amazing, up in the hills away from the crowds. Giannis and his family couldn’t have done more! Mother made us a lunch when we arrived, dropped round with Easter Cookies for the kids and were on hand if we needed anything. Loved every minute!

Fantastic holiday villa

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Villa Gaia. The villa was clean and spacious with fantastic outside space. It was in a quiet, rural location however was still convenient for local restaurants, supermarkets and the beach and there were many things to do within an hour’s drive (including the airport). Zacharias was a generous and kind host. He insisted on meeting us at the villa despite us not arriving until after midnight. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Auch der Pool war makellos und hat unseren Urlaub zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht.Ein absolutes Highlight war die wundervolle Überraschung bei unserer Ankunft: Es standen bereits leckeres Essen, Snacks und Wein für uns bereit. Wir hatten einen so tollen Aufenthalt. Wir kamen leider etwas später als verabredet, weil wir Probleme hatten mit den Mietautos. Wir kamen dann an und wurden herzlich empfangen. Die Mama hat für uns Essen gemacht - einfach lecker! Es gab sogar Obst und Kuchen. Besser geht’s nicht. Wir wurden herumgeführt und haben uns gleich wohlgefühlt. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. 5 Sterne PLUS gibts von uns. Die Lage der Villa ist auch super! Man ist in 20 Min oder 30 Min zu Fuß in tollen Tavernen, in 10 Autominuten am Strand. Einfach super

Wir durften einen unvergesslichen Sommerurlaub in diesem traumhaften Haus verbringen. Und es war ehrlich gesagt der beste Urlaub, den wir je hatten.Schon bei der Ankunft hat uns der überaus herzliche Gastgeber Zacharias begeistert: Der Kühlschrank war liebevoll mit dem Nötigsten gefüllt, inklusive eines selbstgekochten Essens, das einfach köstlich war. Eine Geste, die wir nach der späten Anreise sehr zu schätzen wussten. Überhaupt war Zacharias während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts stets erreichbar, hilfsbereit und immer verfügbar: ob bei der Organisation eines Transfers oder mit wertvollen Tipps für die Umgebung.Das Haus selbst ist ein wahr gewordener Urlaubstraum: modern, stilvoll und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Wir haben mit unseren drei Kindern perfekt abschalten können. Sei es am wunderschönen Pool, beim gemeinsamen Kochen in der top-ausgestatteten Küche oder am Grill und bei gemütlichen Abenden auf einer der mehreren Terrassen. Es fehlt hier an nichts – von gemütlichen Sitzplätzen im Freien über einen Grillplatz bis hin zu mehr als genug Platz für alle.Die Lage ist ideal für alle, die Ruhe und Authentizität suchen, aber nicht ganz ab vom Schuss sein wollen. Das kleine Dorf hat einen wunderbar entschleunigten Charme, und gleichzeitig ist das lebendige Rethymno mit seinem Hafen, den Stränden und den vielen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten nur ca. 20 Minuten entfernt.Wir sind voller Dankbarkeit für diese wundervolle Zeit und können das Haus zu 100% empfehlen!

Traumhaft schön

Top Vermieter, sehr Gastfreundlich und eine sehr gute Kommunikation vor Ort. Wir sind erst abends angekommen und der Gastgeber Empfang uns mit einem sehr leckeren Abendessen. Auch für das Frühstück war gesorgt. Eine solche Gastfreundlichkeit findet man eher selten. Zum Abschied gab es dann noch ein kleines persönliches Präsent, zur Erinnerung an den Urlaub. 100% Weiterempfehlung! Ausstattung sehr geschmackvoll, mit einer wunderschönen Aussicht und einem tollen Außenbereich.

Traumhafte Villa in toller Lage

Die Villa Gaia modern entspricht in jedem Punkt der Beschreibung. Die Gastfreundschaft von Ioannis und Zacharias war überragend. Wir sind spät abends angekommen und wurden mit einem tollen griechischen Abendessen überrascht. Lage ist sehr ruhig über dem Meer und doch zentral ca. 20 Minuten von Rethymno. Können wir uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Magnifique séjour hors saison !

Nous avons passé une magnifique semaine chez Zacharias ; la maison était formidable et idéalement placée pour visiter les deux cotés de l'île. Quiétude totale dans sur le hauteurs de la Crète, mais assez proche toute fois des plages et des commerces. Et que dire de notre hôte qui nous aura accueilli avec un diner 100% préparé maison, tout ce qu'il faut pour le 1er petit déjeuner, et nous aura même offert un petit souvenir au moment du départ. Bref : une réussite totale ; merci Zacharias.

Wunderschöner Aufenthalt

Wir waren Anfang September 2024 in der Ferienunterkunft und es hat uns so gut gefallen. Alles war sauber, sehr schönes Haus in einer ruhigen Lage mit Blick aufs Meer und abends sieht man die wunderschönen Sonnenuntergänge. Wir kamen erst spät abends dort an, aber selbst um 10 Uhr abends war der Gastgeber persönlich vor Ort, hat uns alles gezeigt und erklärt und hat uns sogar mit selbst gebackenen Abendessen seiner Mutter überrascht. Auch für unseren Sohn gab es Spielsachen vor Ort und der Pool war für ihn - und uns - natürlich ein Highlight. Der Gastgeber war immer freundlich und nett und man konnte Ihn jederzeit erreichen. Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit vor Ort - gerne wieder :-)

Super Aufenthalt

Wir hatten zehn super Tage im Haus Gaia! Ein geräumiges Haus, schöne, funktionelle Zimmer, die 2 Bäder sind etwas klein, aber für uns ausreichend. In der Küche ist alles vorhanden, auch Spülmaschine und Waschmaschine, was für uns immer sehr wichtig ist. Saftpresse für frischen Orangensaft. Der Pool sehr sauber, regelmäßig gereinigt. Das Grundstück fast un einsehbar, mit einem herrlichen Fernblick und Meerblick, liegt nur knapp 15 Minuten vom Strand entfernt, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es jede Menge in 15 Minuten Entfernung. Zwei tolle Tavernen in der jeweils 1 km Abstand, da kann man locker hin laufen in einem kleinen Abend Spaziergang. Man braucht natürlich ein Auto, hat da einen super Ausgangspunkt für viele Unternehmungen, Schluchten, kleine buchten und Strände und vieles mehr. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Die nächst größere Stadt, Rethymnon ist nur 20 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt, auch wunderbar zum bummeln oder einkehren in „Old Town“. Der Gastgeber, Zacharias, äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir waren zu sechst in dem Haus, wir Eltern mit drei Töchtern 14,20 und 24, eine mit Freund.

Splendide ! Villa Gaia une valeure sûre !

Maison idéalement placée pour visiter l'ile. La maison de Zacharias est extrêmement confortable avec un équipement complet pour toute la famille. On s y sent très bien. Tout y est et si vous avez besoin de quoi que ce soit vous pouvez compter sur Zacharias. Il est au petit soins pour vous. La maison est décorée avec grand soin, "comme dans les magazines" . Elle est très lumineuse en journée. Les lumières extérieures et intérieures illuminent la maison le soir. L'hygiene est impeccable. Maison adaptée pour personne à mobilité réduite. mon papa est resté au rez de chaussée dans la chambre du bas. Il a fait le tour exterieur de la maison car adaptée pour le fauteuil. La climatisation est dans toutes les pièces si besoin. Les pièces sont vastes. Plusieurs terrasses à l étage permettent de se poser et d admirer le paysage mer et montagne. L'accueil de Zacharias est exemplaire. Gentillesse , douces attentions sont au rendez-vous. Sa maman nous a cuisiné de bons plats pour notre arrivée. Bref,aucune hésitation vous faites le bon choix en réservant la villa gaia.

Lovely stay and exceptional hosts

We were a party of two families, four adults and four teenage children. The property is around 20 minutes from the coast and cars are a must but this was perfect for us as we prefer to stay in quieter areas. The pool is great and would be ideal for younger children too as it is not too deep and all one level. The villa is modern but traditionally furnished and well equipped. The beds are quite firm which was fine for most of us, but one has a bad back and found the bed too hard. However the hosts went above and beyond and sourced a mattress topper for us. Zacharias and his family are wonderful hosts, very welcoming and happy to help with any questions. On arrival they had prepared a delicious meal for us and a homemade cake . It was very special and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Wir wurden freundlich mit einem leckeren Abendessen empfangen. Das Haus war einfach perfekt! Sauber, modern eingerichtet, mit liebevollen kleinen Details. Jedes Zimmer lädt zum Verweilen ein. Der Außenbereich und der Pool waren herrlich. Jeden Abend konnten wir einen zauberhaften Sonnenuntergang genießen. Unsere Gastgeber waren freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt! incredible Villa with super friendly host

The villa is as advertised. Everything you need and more is available in the villa. The pool is nice and you have an incredible view of the sunset. One thing that impressed me the most was the hospitality of the host. The host's mother cooked a whole meal for us (7 people!) free of charge because we arrived late in the afternoon and she was afraid we wouldn't have anything to eat. I have never experienced anything like that at a holiday destination. For my birthday, Mr. Zacharias even bought some sweets. Again, super friendly! He didn't have to do that. I appreciated that very much. I can only recommend the villa and Mr Zacharias. Cheers Arne

Fantastique et excellent

Un paradis sur l'île ! Des hôtes d'une gentillesse et d'une délicatesse exceptionnelles qui nous ont attendus et accueillis en pleine nuit avec le repas préparé et des cadeaux de bienvenue de leur production personnelle. La maison est magnifique, à l'image des photos, spacieuse, romantique où rien ne manque pour permettre de se sentir chez soi. La piscine est sans vis à vis et très agréable. Les conseils de visite, de restaurant prodigués par les propriétaires égalent leur générosité. Un merveilleux séjour qui nous laisse des étoiles plein les yeux. A beautiful late September week for 2 to recharge and our first post-Covid trip. Great weather and a very comfortable place to relax in. We mainly cooked for ourselves and the villa has most of what you need with supermarkets in Stavromenos 10 minutes back down the road. The wifi is fast enough that you won't notice any issues and Netflix and Amazon Prime are available on the Smart TV (you will need your own subscription though). Swimming pool was refreshing and the local cats very cute! The owner Zacharias was simply the best. An extremely tasty dinner was waiting for us on arrival and he dropped in with a couple of other treats during the week and was always available on the end of the phone to answer any queries. Thank you for all your help! If you need a rapid antigen test for return travel then numerous places are available in Rethymno and the process is simple at approx €25 per person. It felt so good to sit with a glass of Cretan wine and watch the superb sunset from the upper balcony and remember the joys of travelling. Highly recommended location, villa and owner! Just book it!

Villa Gaia Modern is built in a peaceful location, at the edge of a traditional village surrounded by olives, oaks and Cretan herbs. The villa is spacious with 4 bedrooms which cover the needs of 8 people. In the outside space, there is a 25sqm pool with sun chairs and umbrellas and a barbecue. The villa has 4 verandas and a spectacular view to the sea, the countryside and the town of Rethymno, but also to the mountain Psiloritis. It is remote and quiet, but also near many villages and the town. As a result, all the needed facilities like restaurants, super markets, gas stations and farmacies are provided very close to the house. The main road from Chania to Heraklion is only 6 kms away, so every city and many sightseeings of the island are easily accessible. The villa is near important sight seeings like the Arcadi Monastery and the ancient city of Eleytherna, and the museum of the Ancient Eleytherna. Villa Gaia Modern is ideal for families and companies who would like to experience the Cretan village life, without being away from the modern life facilities.
