Our vacation house is located in a haven of tranquility and peace set within lush forests, wandering vegetation and dramatic cliffs which tower over its well-known beach, still untouched by mass tourism. This combination of pristine coastline and breathtaking views makes our vacation home, the perfect place for your special family vacation; or romantic retreat. Our house is only 50 meters from the Atlantic Ocean on a non-through road, with minimal traffic, Not only a picture-perfect setting but a comfortable and efficient self-catering accommodation.
Our house features heating during winter, air cooling during summer, clothes washing and drying machines. And for those extra conveniences, bathrobes, a full beach kit that allows you to extend your hours at the beach, afterwards, imagine yourself rinsing off in our useful outdoor shower.
The chef in the family can create delicious dishes in our fully equipped kitchen or by using the outdoor grill. Outdoor entertaining is easy in our fully gated, illuminated courtyard, with no stairs, a secure setting for young children.
Stay connected with your outside World utilizing both our internet, and International Television channels, or you may simply choose to escape and swing from our hammocks while gazing out at the mesmerizing Ocean waves.
Your refuge in comfort, come and experience this for yourself!
Ideal eco-tourism holiday: Our location is on route of the Rocha da Fajã Trail; a 2 hour hike through forests and coastline.
Visit during the months of November to April and you will be awarded with the cascading waterfalls; be captivated by the thrilling storms and be mystified by the mesmerizing ocean waves.

Pure relaxation and deceleration

We were able to get to know Fajal well with a small rental car. All the sights were easily accessible. The restaurants nearby were all very good, whether it was pizza or fresh fish on the menu. Perfect 9 days holiday!

We came to Faial for the first time and this little casa was absolutely what we were looking for. Right beside the ocean, quiet, cozy, clean and comfortable. Thanks to our helpful host Zelda. A perfect hideaway

For those looking for a hideaway in a scenic location on the north coast of Faial, this house is perfect. The kitchen is well equipped and ingredients such as oil, vinegar, spices, sugar, etc. were available. At night, as you gaze at the stars from the rooftop terrace, you can hear the sound of the sea and the call of the yellow-billed loon. Smooth communication, at check-in and check-out. The courtyard is very spacious, with plenty of shade, and the hammocks were very popular - with both the adults and the children.

The Perfect Beach House

This fabulous little beach cottage is the perfect place for an out of the way respite. The owners have thought of everything, beside the fact they are friendly and attentive to any needs one might have. The kitchen is modern and convenient and stocked with the basics. The bed is comfortable and a washer/dryer make for handy use for extended travel. The interior is charming, good tv reception, wifi, and music. If you have never experienced the nighttime sounds of the Cory Shearwater, be ready for their baffling call. We would love to return to this snug little place with its walled courtyard and stunning views. Thank you, Zelda and Lawrence, for your welcome hospitality and friendliness. We appreciated so much the extra effort our last day, finding you at the airport with our forgotten camera bag. It was a pleasure to get to know a bit about you.

A Little Piece of Heaven!

This home away from home was nestled in it's own little nook! Quiet, peaceful and yet not to far from it all. Short walking distance to beach, fishing and the best pizza on the island! We found the best restaurant in Faial, Principe! A must if your staying here! What a treat! Zelda and Lawrence were great! Thank you for everything!Very accommodating with things to do and if you needed any information about Faial! Hammocks were a hit as well as the outdoor space to relax and outside shower!! The master bedroom bed was comfy! The twin beds could use a newer mattress. Probably great for children but not adults! We did cook outside as the weather was outstanding! A couple of BBQ Utensils would of been handy but we made do with what we had! Overall, This place was a jewel! Don't forget to take time to see the sunset!! Gorgeous!! Would definitely return! Island hopped to Pico and Sao Jorge was easy taking the Ferry across from Horta! You won't be disappointed!!

Beach Paradise

Os Salgueiros made a wonderful home for our family of four. The courtyard is as perfect as you might imagine with privacy yet plenty of sun. You can't beat the outdoor shower whether washing off beach sand or just luxuriating in the sun. My daughter occupied herself for hours watering the planters and everybody loved the hammocks. There is an air conditioner in the house if you're not used to the humidity. Lawrence gave us a warm welcome on arrival and was a gracious host throughout the entire process. Zelda was very communicative and in the future we'll probably work with her on car rental as we had a really bad experience with Travelocity/Hertz (totally unrelated). Finally and perhaps most importantly, the house is the only place you can rent all the way down at beach level and the praia did not disappoint! Absolutely pristine black sand, zero trash, not crowded, and even has its own natural pool. My son and I also enjoyed the huge waves which were way beyond other beaches (but completely fine - he is 8 and spent an hour getting smashed for fun). Good free showers, trash disposal, a park for kids right there, and the best pizza on the island is a 5 minute walk. Amazing location!

Ausserordentliches Ferienhaus mit viel Platz durch grossen Aussenbereich. Es ist noch schöner als auf den Bildern. Die Hängematten und die Aussendusche sind fantastisch, das Haus mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht.Die Lage ist am besten Platz der Insel direkt am Meer mit beeindruckender Vulkanküste und einem traumhaften Strand mit feinem schwarzen Sand. Der Wellengang ist hier allerdings meist sehr stark, kleine Kinder können im Naturpool baden.Man braucht ein Mietauto, aber von dort aus kann alles auf der Insel innerhalb 30-45 min erreicht werden. Einige Restaurants und Snackbars sind in der Nähe, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und mehr Restaurants gut erreichbar.Nachts sorgen die Sturmtaucher für ein Naturschauspiel mit ihren eigentümlichen Rufen. Uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen, wir würden sofort wiederkommen. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern ist unkompliziert und herzlich.

Beautiful house and location

Eines der schönsten Ferienhäuser, das wir je hatten. Im Pyjama ungestört ans Meer gehen zu können, das gibt es selten!Friedvolle Umgebung mit Wanderwegen direkt vor Ort. Sehr gute und schnelle Kommunikation mit Zilda, einfacher check in, gute Ausstattung mit allem, was man braucht. Absolute Empfehlung!!!

Great Coastal Hideaway

Great small house located on a quiet dead-end road on the outskirts of a small coastal village. Fabulous view of the coastline from the rooftop terrace. Walled, tree-lined courtyard provides shade as well as shelter from rain or wind. Comfortable bedroom. Galley kitchen had everything that we needed to prepare meals. Walking distance to small black sand beach - a good spot for surfing or bodyboarding when the swell is right. One of the island's marked hiking trails passes near the house and several others are nearby. Easy 20 minute drive from the airport & 30 minutes to downtown Horta & ferry terminal. Owner (Zelda) is easy to communicate with & very helpful. She lives on the island & she met us upon our arrival to show us around the house. She was also very understanding & accommodating when we had to cancel & reschedule our trip twice due to COVID travel restrictions (we originally booked for 2020). Overall...Highly recommended!

Knus huis op fantastische locatie

Na erg fijn contact met Zelda hebben we genoten van een week in dit knusse huisje. Alles is aanwezig en er is buiten een mooi terras om lekker te spelen. Omgeving is ook top, mooi uitzicht en ligt gelijk aan een wandelroute.

Fantastic house in an ideal location

The house has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. We wish we could have spent at least another week there! The location is beyond picturesque with the water and mountains outside the front door. You can walk to the beach (the water is a bit rough to swim but nice to get your feet wet and take in the views) and there’s also a nice hiking trail very near. The house is nicely designed, cozy and comfortable, and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The outdoor space is lovely — we could have spent the whole time in the hammocks listening to the ocean waves! Great communication from the hosts — Zelda was so helpful from the minute we booked — sending hiking and island information and making sure we had all the info we needed leading up to the trip, and she checked in with us during the week as well. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to all!

Great Oasis on the North Side

We stayed here at the end of May 2018 and really enjoyed our stay. It's so quiet, and the public beach is pretty much a private beach except on the weekends. The cork bed is super comfortable and the cottage has everything you need: bbq, hammocks, kitchen with cooktop/oven and an outdoor show. Great view off the veranda. The hosts, Zelda and Lawrence, were very helpful with any questions we had. Thanks so much for a relaxing stay.
