Great time in Maine!

The house is clean, light, airy, and so close to the beach and town! Jim and Kim were very gracious and kind. We are already thinking about our stay next summer!

2/10 Terrible

Do not rent from this man!!!!

Two weeks before our rental, Jim called me to say HomeAway charged too much in fees (25% which isn’t actually true) and he needed to charge me more rent. I said this wasn’t quite right and it we had agreed on the rental and the fees should stay as is. We paid a damage deposit with the rental. The house is extremely extremely basic. The appliances are old and rusty, the stove top burners only have worked, the oven was old, clunky and dirty. The fridge too was old. The house is very cheaply made and has few endearing qualities other than t being close to the beach. We barely used the house because our in laws had a rental on the beach so we used that house to hang during the day. We left the house in perfect consition - we have four kids and are not partiers. Jim refused to give us our damage deposit back. He accused us of setting fireworks off in the back, but my 3-year-old is terrified of fireworks and we would not even know where to buy them. He said the fridge and stove were dirty, but I told him that was not damage. We didn’t break a single thing. On top of that the dishwasher didn’t work for the first five days we were there. This man is dishonest, the house is gross, and he will keep your damage deposit. Stay away from him and don’t rent from him!!!

Plenty of room and a great location

We really enjoyed our stay. Loved that it was within walking distance to the beach as well as Dock Square. Enjoyed walking to The Port for coffee and a muffin. It's obvious the owners take good care of the house and it was very clean. Our only issue was the beds were a bit soft for our taste. But had a great time!

Kim and I are both professionals and have three children. We began renting about 15 years ago in this area because it is so close to the beach, so close to the center of Kennebunkport and it's quint shops, ice cream, and affordable restaurants. We loved it so much that we decided to spend our entire summers there with our kids and became part of the "beach" community and bought our "beach home". The kids would go crab fishing when they were young yet the house is located so close to the beach we would walk back for lunch, etc. We've had a ball there and now that our children are older and scattered all over the country, we really enjoy sharing our home that leave with similar memories. Most of our guests have been coming back for several years. Please read the Recommendations on the "Flipkey" web site!
