About this property
Walk to the beach! Luxuriate in an outdoor sauna
Welcome to Maddox Pond, where you and yours will unplug and unwind in all the sunny summertime splendor that coastal Maine has to offer. Our 3-bedroom 2-bath cabin/beach cabin home sits on a lush, private acre overlooking the tidal estuaries of the legendary Biddeford Pool. A 5-minute walk down the picturesque gravel road brings you to Fortune Rocks Beach, one of our state’s most gorgeous and expansive strips of sand, sunshine, and waves.
The house itself is a raised ranch with the feel of a beach cabin set among the trees. Our home features hardwood floors, spacious bedrooms, and a bright dining room with vaulted ceilings. Grill to your heart’s content on our raised deck, or enjoy our newly renovated kitchen with appliances ready for your best summertime meal concoctions.
Families love Maddox Pond for the dozens of adventures and outings that abound: from relaxing and playing on the beach, to exploring the tidal pools, to enjoying walks and birding in the nearby Maine Audubon East Point Sanctuary. Bring your bicycles and cruise down to Pool Lobster Co. for a lobster roll, or head over to explore Timber Island Nature Preserve or any of the stunning vistas of the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. Rent a kayak, surfboard, or windsurfer from one of the local outfitters, or sign up for a sunset guided tour.
For those itching to explore Southern Maine, a 10-minute drive will deliver you into downtown Biddeford, a former milltown that is now home to one of Maine’s most burgeoning arts, craft beer, and food scenes. Grab a cone at Sweet Cream Dairy, pick up a six pack at Banded Horn Brewery, check out an exhibit at Engine Arts, sip a signature cocktail at Magnus on the Water, or enjoy a meal at Elda, rated One of America’s Best New Restaurants. In the other direction, 15 minutes south of Maddox Pond, is world-famous Kennebunkport, and 30 minutes to the north will bring you to Portland with its countless eateries and island adventures.
Maddox Pond is a truly unique experience that combines a classic Maine beach getaway with privacy and instant access to the best nature and water recreation that coastal Maine has to offer.
No Animals are allowed in the house or on the property.
No Smoking or Fires allowed in or around the property
Washer, dryer, and dishwasher available on the premises.
TV and internet included.
Security Cameras are present facing the exterior of the property. 1) ring camera/audio at the lower front door. 2) Ring camera/audio in the basement room (where guests don’t have access) facing the yard and back, right side of the sauna. We have had issues in the past and find these devices encourage guests to follow rules and be respectful during their stay. Thank you for understanding!
Feel free to bring your own bicycles, surfboards, kayaks, or other water vessels.
