Le Hameau du Clos Marot dates from the eighteenth. It was a small farm consisting of a set of small buildings.
The Grand GĂźte is the only building offered for rent mainly during the summer.
Le Potager is available for guests to pick herbs, biting into a sip tomato sun. You will find fresh eggs at the henhouse occupied by the rooster and his 'girls'
The Pagoda, at the edge of the closed swimming pool, is an old garden shelter arranged for the organization the summer of lunches or dinners.
Bar sinners (Dordogne) can have a drink on the bar.
The wine cellar and cheese is an ancient glacial pot. It is topped by a kiosk where it is good to have tea ..
Like most of the villages Sarlat, Le Clos Marot had a bread oven that has been restored. The Bakehouse also has a rotisserie seventeenth.
The European standards cooking workshop is for learning and gastronomic research.


The Clos Marot is in the heart of Black Perigord, in the town of Castels, near the Dordogne where all the medieval castles meet, and the VĂ©zĂšre where all the sites of prehistory, from Les Eyzies to the cave of Lascaux gather .

The Clos Marot stands 210 meters above the village of Saint Cyprien, facing a magnificent panorama open at 300 degrees.
Castle BEYNAC is 6 minutes by car. CASTELNAUD THE MILANDES are 15 minutes, and the GARDENS MARQUEYSSAC.

Sarlat is a 20 minute drive.

The Church of REDON -ESPIC (classified monument of XIIe) of which Thierry Bourgeon was President of the Association of safeguard, is very close. BELVES is 10 minutes by car and opens the way to the circuit of walled towns: MONPAZIER-MONFLANQUIN-BEAUMONT

A lovely spacious house in a beautiful area.

Thierry and Catherine were excellent hosts and helped us to enjoy the area to the full. They were extremely generous with the produce of their garden, and advice on things to do. A lovely week in a beautiful spot.

We enjoyed our holidays in Clos Marot a lot. Catherine and Thierry are very hearty and friendly hosts who gave us the feeling of being welcome at every time. Relaxing in the beautiful countryside

A lovely property in beautiful surroundings. Thierry & Catherine were wonderful hosts - nothing was too much trouble & they gave us great advice on places to visit as well as a basket of their home produced veg, eggs & preserves. Saint Cyprien is 5 minutes drive. It has a wonderful weekly market & many places to eat. The weather was hot (40 degrees) during our stay so the excellent swimming pool was ideal. The wildlife at the property was fascinating & gave us lots of photography opportunities. All round, a lovely place to stay - thank you.

Beautiful setting and welcoming hosts

Our stay at this charming gite was wonderful. Catherine and Thierry were VERY welcoming, kind and generous. The property was beautiful. We took advantage of all of the added perks, like picking fresh herbs, tomatoes and perfectly ripe figs, swimming in the pool, and playing ping pong. The location was fantastic for exploring the surrounding area, many top sights within a 20 minute drive. It was also a great spot to just "chill" at the end of a day of sight-seeing and adventure. This area of France was gorgeous. I'd definitely stay here again so we could explore it more.

A beautiful place to stay in the Dordogne

This is a beautiful place to stay, looking down on the village of Saint Cyprien. Catherine and Thierry are wonderful hosts and went out of their way to look after us and to introduce us to the local region and the cuisine of the Perigord. The little gite has everything one could need, and there are so many places to relax and enjoy the outdoors, whether by the pool or in the gardens. Catherine and Thierry grow tomatoes, figs, plums, walnuts. . .wonderful produce to enjoy. In Saint Cyprien you have a very good weekend market and are just moments from the Dordogne, for biking or canoeing. This is the perfect place to stay to enjoy all that the Perigord has to offer.

The perfect base from which to explore the beautiful Perigord Noir.

From first impression to lasting memories, everything could not have been better. Catherine and Thierry are wonderful hosts who could not have been more attentive. The gite was ideal for our family and remarkably cool even when the temperature was 35+. Who needs air conditioning, we didn't! The pool was a big favourite and very welcome and the gardens were a delight, especially the koi pool complete with freshwater crayfish! We could have stayed in the gardens for a full two weeks but the lure of the surrounding countryside and towns proved too much - especially with Catherine and Thierry's suggestions. Everything about our holiday, once we had arrived, could not have been more perfect. Merci beaucoup, Thierry and Catherine and a bientot!

Avant tout avec Catherine et Thierry il s 'agit d'une rencontre humaine, tous les deux sont extrĂȘmement sympathiques et accueillants et n hĂ©siteront pas Ă  vous recevoir comme des amis et Ă  vous donner de prĂ©cieux conseils afin de vivre au mieux votre sĂ©jour PĂ©rigourdin. La maison louĂ©e est propre et parfaitement amĂ©nagĂ©e pour pour 4/5 personnes. Vous aurez certainement l occasion de gouter aux oeufs des poules qui se baladent librement dans la propriĂ©tĂ©. Nous Ă©tions un couple et un enfant dans la grande chambre et une amie et son fils ont Ă©galement trĂšs bien dormi dans le grand lit de la mezzanine du salon. Thierry et Catherine nous ont rĂ©servĂ©s un accueil trĂšs chaleureux avec de nombreux conseils sur la rĂ©gion et un partage trĂšs gĂ©nĂ©reux du potager et des dĂ©licieux cĂšpes cuisinĂ©s maison ! Cerise sur le gĂąteau : les Ɠufs des poules que les enfants allaient chercher chaque jour au poulailler. Le clos Marot est au calme sur les hauteurs de St Cyprien jolie petite ville avec un marchĂ© Ă  ne pas manquer et un point de dĂ©part idĂ©alement situĂ© pour la visite de plusieurs chĂąteaux et grottes et pour dĂ©couvrir Sarlat, Perigueux, Bergerac

Nous avons passé une semaine dans un endroit magnifique avec des hÎte absolument charmants. Un grand merci à Catherine et Thierry pour leur accueil chaleureux au Clos Marot. Nous avons eu un séjour fantastique. Le lieu magnifique est idéal comme point de chute pour visiter le Périgord noir avec des enfants : les chùteaux (Castelnaud ),grottes pré historiques (Rouffignac) , parc du Bournat, Sarlat... Marche de Saint Cyprien , etc ...grùce aux avis éclairés de nos hÎtes nous avons pu éviter les foules et découvrir les merveilles de cette région. AprÚs la visite la piscine vous permet de vous rafraßchir aprÚs ces explorations. Une chose est certaine nous avons encore beaucoup à découvrir et reviendrons avec plaisir chez Catherine et Thierry. Merci encore Ă  nos hĂŽtes pour ce charmant sĂ©jour d’une semaine dans cette ancienne ferme pĂ©rigourdine, bien rĂ©amĂ©nagĂ©e mais sans trahir le charme d’origine. Bon, si vous cherchez un logement standard, avec wifi haut dĂ©bit et climatisation Ă  faire pĂąlir la couche d’ozone, et avec le moins de contact possible avec vos hĂŽtes, passez votre chemin. Par contre, si vous avez envie d’un logement de charme, de partir chasser les oeufs du poulailler le soir ou les tomates cerises le matin, et de partager avec Catherine et Thierry vos expĂ©riences et bĂ©nĂ©ficier des leurs, alors je pense que ce gite peut convenir Ă  vos prochaines vacances. A noter la proximitĂ© d’une plĂ©iade d’activitĂ© et de visites possibles Ă  proximitĂ© (mais pour espĂ©rer les faire toutes, prĂ©voyez de trĂšs trĂšs longues vacances). Superbe semaine

Nous étions à la recherche d un havre de paix dans un cadre idyllique, nous l avons trouvé au clos marot. Amateurs de vieilles pierres et d authenticité, tous les ingrédients étaient réunis pour nous faire passer une super semaine. La cerise sur le gùteau, un accueil trÚs chaleureux de Catherine et Thierry qui ont su nous faire profiter de leur lieu de vie et nous faire partager leur goût pour cette superbe région de France. A relaxing getaway from it all in the peaceful Perigord Noir .

This is a beautiful stone house in the midst of amazing countryside. Thierry and Catherine respect your privacy but are available for advice regarding restaurants best places to visit etc . We also received baskets of fresh vegetables, herbs nuts from their garden and homemade jams. The swimming pool , pétanque court and ping pong table kept the kids entertained . The area is full of chateaus , bastide towns , grottos so plenty to visit . The house is walking distance to st Cyprien which has several good restaurants , small and big supermarkets- weekly market and a great night market on a Thursday. The walk down is easily done in 20minutes , the walk back up might take a bit longer - probably a bit steep for elderly visitors. We had a lovely holiday that was definitely improved by the kindness and helpfulness of the owners. Thierry was kind enough to take us on a tour around local landmarks with drinks and nibbles afterwards. I would highly recommend this gite - Canoeing on the dordogne past Chùteaus is a must .

Un petit coin de paradis pour les vacances...

Le Clos Marot est magnifique, il offre le calme et la sĂ©rĂ©nitĂ©. Il recĂšle plein de petits endroits oĂč l'on se sent bien, la piscine, le kiosque, le champ avec vue sur Saint Cyprien, le coin ping-pong, le coin barbecue, le petit jardin, les poules... Tout ceci est partagĂ© avec les propriĂ©taires qui nous ont fait partagĂ© l'amour qu'il porte Ă  leur petit hameau. Sans oublier le cours de cuisine de Thierry. Merci ! Le gĂźte est plein de charme. Quelques petits soucis avec Internet mais nous sommes en pleine campagne... Un beau sĂ©jour que je recommande.

A home away from home

This is a wonderful place! The house itself is old and full of character, the bathroom has been renovated with a very nice shower. However, what makes this place truly special is the owners - Catherine and Thierry. We’ve never experienced such hospitality and welcome from property owners before, they are just absolutely amazing! The location is great with so many attractions - we stayed there a week and still couldn’t see everything we wanted, so we will have to come back. Thank you so much for everything, Catherine and Thierry, you made us feel at home and made our holiday truly memorable!

Rustic, quaint, great location and facilities

The property is located in a quiet, private hamlet at the top of a hill about 2 Km outside St Cyprien which is a lovely French village with plenty of amenities and a great market at least twice a week in the summer. The property itself was smaller than we'd expected and in need of some modernisation. The living and kitchen area was cosy but quite dark and the second bedroom was somewhat makeshift in the eves of the house but it didn't really matter as we spent very little time in doors, the weather being fantastic, and it was comfortable enough and cool enough to sleep in the evenings. There was plenty of space outside for the kids and dog to play, the pool is nice and gets the sun almost all day; we spent a lot of time in and around the pool. There are plenty of lovely places nearby to visit; Chateaux, caves, ancient villages and towns, and plenty of places to explore if you're a cyclist that doesn't mind a few climbs - the smaller roads are very well kept and pretty quiet. Overall, we had a lovely time here and would definitely recommend.

Le charme du Clos Marot

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Clos Marot, que nous avons énormément apprécié pour son calme et sa qualité de vie. Mais ce que nous avons aimé par dessus tout, c'est l'accueil de Catherine et Thierry, leur disponibilité pour nous faire partager leur passion (le Périgord en particulier), leur goût de la gastronomie avec leurs conseils avisés sur les restaurants aux alentours et un super cours de cuisine (des oeufs mollet aux truffes)... Nous avons également apprécié leur façon de partager, un déjeuner avec eux des plus convivial, la visite de villages et d'église absolument magnifiques. En résumé, le charme du Clos Marot est bien sur son lieu de vie, la sérénité qui s'en dégage, mais il est plus particuliÚrement dû à Catherine et Thierry, chaleureux et discrets, qui en sont l'ùme. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour : gßte confortable pour 4 personnes dans un cadre idyllique et reposant, superbe piscine , propriétaires trÚs agréables et à l'écoute. Le bonheur est chez Catherine et Thierry

Nous avons passé un séjour extraordinaire au Clos Marot. Le Clos est tout d'abord magnifique, trÚs bien entretenu et superbement équipé. Il y a des coins pour se relaxer partout dans la propriété: à l'ombre d'un arbre, sous la gloriette prÚs de la piscine, les pieds dans l'eau. Mais ce qui fait le charme du Clos sans aucun doute c'est Catherine et Thierry. Des hÎtes au grand coeur, disponibles, chaleureux, intéressants et fins becs. Quel plaisir cela a été de pouvoir partager quelques moments en famille avec eux. Nous retournerons sans hésiter au Clos Marot. Merci Catherine et Thierry.

Nous avons apprĂ©ciĂ© cet endroit merveilleux avec sa tranquillitĂ©, la maison parfaitement Ă©quipĂ©e et les hĂŽtes charmants. Les chaudes journĂ©es d'Ă©tĂ© nous avons passĂ© avec de belles excursions et la grande piscine. La belle ville de Saint-Cyprien offre de bons restaurants, dont l'hĂŽte a informĂ© et a Ă©galement rĂ©servĂ© le mĂȘme pour nous ... Lors de notre rĂ©servation, nos critĂšres Ă©taient bien spĂ©cifiques en ayant comme seul et unique but, pour ces vacances, d’ĂȘtre coupĂ©es de l’agitation des grandes villes et de nos vies Ă  200 Ă  l’heure
 Un retour aux sources
 Objectif atteint ! Nous avons pu largement profiter du calme, du silence souvent, en harmonie avec la nature environnante avec la visite chaque jour de notre copain chat Wifi et des cocottes... Autant dire que je me suis, personnellement, retrouvĂ©e en mode « contemplative » ce qui n’était pas pour me dĂ©plaire ! Ce lieu, idĂ©alement situĂ© entre campagne et ville, oĂč les activitĂ©s sont nombreuses, a une Ăąme, un vĂ©cu et dĂ©gage des ondes positives auxquelles nous pouvons qu’ĂȘtre rĂ©ceptifs. Nous comprenons aisĂ©ment le coup de cƓur de Catherine et Thierry pour cet endroit qui inspire... Passons Ă  eux, justement... Ce fut un plaisir de faire leur connaissance, c’est assez rare pour que je le souligne : Un accueil des plus chaleureux aprĂšs quasiment 9h de route, des conseils avisĂ©s sur les lieux Ă  dĂ©couvrir, des personnes attentionnĂ©es
 Je m’y suis sentie comme chez moi ! Encore un grand merci, Catherine et Thierry, de nous faire profiter de votre lieu de vie et Emilie et moi-mĂȘme sommes heureuses, sincĂšrement, d’avoir fait votre connaissance ! Nos batteries sont dĂ©sormais rechargĂ©es au maximum pour affronter la vie quotidienne avec son lot de plaisirs et de soucis (malheureusement !) ! Le plus : Le lieu avec ses diffĂ©rentes ambiances ainsi que ses hĂŽtes Le moins : Un sĂ©jour trop court !
