The Area
Steeped in peace and quiet, the Shippen is located within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with Sites of Special Scientific Interest very close by, the detached property is surrounded by the most beautiful Shropshire landscape. With miles and miles of beautiful countryside and woodland with stunning views and star-filled night skies, and a brook for paddling at the bottom of the valley, the immediate area is absolutely stunning. It’s ideal for walkers, cyclists, nature lovers and kite flyers or those seeking deep peace and quiet. The Shropshire Way runs alongside the main house. The Stiperstones and the Long Mynd are just a few minutes’ drive away.
There are lots of pretty villages and market towns, castles, woodland and hills to explore. The area is great for bird watching, romantic walks or more challenging hill walking, cycling, riding, golfing, hang gliding, good food, local music, book and arts festivals, houses and gardens.
Stroll the cobbled streets of Bishop’s Castle or the fine buildings of Ludlow and Shrewsbury, enjoy a local pint by the river, hike to the top of the Long Mynd. Then back to board games by the fire, bright starry skies, and owls that hoot you to sleep.
