Your Amazing Mountain Paradise Awaits in the beautiful Yampa valley!  Nestled in the shadow of the legendary Steamboat Ski Resort is the desirable Rockies community.  Our cozy well-appointed 1 BR garden level condo is a short 10 minute walk or free bus ride to the gondola at Steamboat Resort. Enjoy being close enough to walk to the lifts and a variety of restaurants without paying the premium price for ski in/ ski out. 

The entire condo features a comfy king sized bed, plush pull-out sofa, and reclaimed beetle kill wood furniture.  Enjoy the well stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook up gourmet meals, including chef quality cookware, crock pot, and a full sized range and oven. We are happy to provide kitchen staples like oil, basic spices, foil, and a coffee grinder filled with fresh beans to make you feel right at home. There's also a small fold up desk in the closet for anyone needing a working space.

After a long day of skiing Steamboats world famous Champagne Powder®, stash your ski gear in the private ski locker right outside the front door. Then, kick back and relax in front of the fire in our cozy living room. Watch the game or your favorite movie on the 55” smart TV that’s above the warm gas fireplace. Catch up on your favorite Netflix or Amazon Prime shows on the 34" SMART TV in the bedroom. If you’re not up for watching TV, then head outside to enjoy a swim or soak in the Rockies heated pool & hot tubs.  The Rockies Clubhouse area also has a ping pong table, a treadmill & elliptical machine, fireplace, grills and coin operated laundry facilities available for you to use.

Our condo is also conveniently located a short half mile, 10 minute walk to the Wild Horse Marketplace where you will find multiple bars, restaurants, sandwich shops, and even a movie theater. Want to explore more shopping and restaurant options, or  take a dip  in the Old Town Hot springs? - historic downtown Steamboat Springs’ charming main street is just two miles away.  For car-free transportation options during the winter, the Rockies provides an on-call shuttle service after 6pm to take you wherever you want to go in town. The Steamboat Springs Transit Bus also provides free bus service every 20 minutes, served from a stop on the Purple Line just steps from the condo.

We had a great stay! The condo was a good size for me and my two sons. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed. Two things stood out from other VRBO stays. First, we arrived on New Year’s Eve and the host left a bottle of Champagne in the fridge! Great touch! Second, the pull-out mattress was high quality unlike other places I’ve stayed. Other notable items included the host’s communication, which was excellent, and the walk to the slopes was really doable even in ski boots. Worth the walk to avoid the bus wait and still having to walk a bit.

The property was great for us, 2 adults and 2 year old in a pack n play that fit nicely on the side of the bed. Loved the ground level patio, pool was great, and Steve was very easy and prompt with communication. Would stay again, great easy location to town and the base of the ski hill.

We moved to Colorado from the east coast about 10 years ago, fulfilling a life long dream to live out west. We both grew up in the wonderful town of Northampton, MA and love being outdoors as much as possible, hiking, biking, camping, and skiing. As much as we loved going to the Green Mountains of Vermont, Colorado seemed like the best place for us to be with its bigger and more majestic mountains, open spaces, and world class skiing. So we packed up our lives and moved to Colorado in the fall of 2015, and it was the best decision we ever made.

Why they chose this property

Since we arrived in Colorado back in December of 2015, we were looking for the perfect ski town that fit everything we wanted. In the time we've lived here in Colorado we have skied some world class mountains - Aspen, Telluride, Loveland, Copper, Winter Park, ABasin,Crested Butte, Steamboat, Big Sky, MT, Jackson Hole, WY, Sun Valley, ID, SnowBird, UT, Park City, UT. The place we kept coming back to, time and time again is Ski Town USA, Steamboat. Steamboat Springs is the total package. Incredible skiing in the winter, loads of outdoor activities in the summer, a fantastic downtown with wonderful restaurants, not crowded like the I-70 resorts, beautiful surrounding countrysides, and great people. We originally came to Steamboat for the skiing, but we're staying for the summers! Steamboat has it all! We hope you enjoy your time in Steamboat as much as we do.
