Perfect for a large group

The location of this property is perfect. We could walk to ice cream, coffee, restaurants and while a bit longer, you could walk to The Sands beach. There was ample space for our party of 8, which included 5 adults (no couples), 2 teens and one kid.

Excellent location

The House was just as advertised and the bonus We did not know about was the wildlife sanctuary just down the road where you could witness hundreds of birds. Then there were turtles, rabbits frogs and even alligators. Great for evening viewing on the boardwalk.

Great stay in Port Royal

We enjoyed our stay at the proud Mary in Port Royal. The house was fully equipped with everything that we needed. It’s very centrally located to Paris Island and downtown Beaufort, and just a short drive to the local beaches. Our family had a great time fishing from the Port Royal pier and riding bikes in a very clean friendly city. We will definitely visit this home again.

This is an older property. Good floor plan with plenty of space. 1 block off Paris Ave (downtown), 2 blocks from Shellring Ale Works (brewery) and Fish Camp Restaurant).

it is very peaceful and serene

the house is exceptional in all aspects. very clean ,well furnished and stocked. it is a beautiful home and was perfect for our family.the owner was gracious and very helpful and considerate.i would recommend this house to anyone and it would be my choice again in the future.our short stay due to the hurricane was still very pleasant and comfortable in this home . thank you for allowing to stay there.

Couldn't have stayed in a better place

The home was nice and cozy had everything we needed. Have no complaints everything from booking to check out was great, couldn't be any simpler. I booked to attend my daughter's graduation from Parris Island and only at most 5 -7 from base. I recommend this place to all those attending their new Marines graduation. Thank you Phoebe for your attention and welcoming!

If you are wanting a place for a Marine graduation or just an excellent vacation home the PROUD MARY is the place. Within 5 min of Parris Island and close to about everything. Ms. Phoebe is a very nice woman to work with, she let us arrive a couple of hours early and call to check if everything was alright and if we needed anything. Will go back again just for a vacation. Thanks again Ms. Phoebe, for having such a nice place for us to watch our Marine graduate.

Just like home!

We had a wonderful stay while at this property. We were a 10 minute drive to Parris Island. Plenty of room for all of our guests. We accidentally locked the keys inside the house one day and the owner Pheobe was so helpful and understanding. She came to the rescue in less than 20 minutes. Bless her! We definitely recommend this home for anyone going to a Marine graduation!!!

Marine Corps Graduation

My grandson graduated from Parris Island. This is perfectly locate for easy access to the base, stores & restaurants. The house has a bit of a musty smell from the basement. I am sensitive to fragrances & odors, once you get past that it is fine. The house is larger than it looks with plenty of spaces to hang out together or in separate groups. We were only there for a short time so weren’t able to get out into the community much. The neighborhood driving to the house is a bit unmanicured. There were no loud noises from out side. It was quite peaceful. It would have been nice to have had a few more days to enjoy all the amenities. It would be a great place to plan a 7-10 family/friends trip!

Very close to base. Nice neighborhood area. Was really pretty relaxing. We were here for my sons military graduation and was ver easy to get to from house. Lots of stuff to walk to from house.

The house was impressively spacious and impeccably clean, equipped with dishes, cooking pots, and pans. It exceeded our expectations in size compared to the photos and is conveniently located near the base, as well as various food and gas stations. This makes it an ideal choice for families visiting for events like family day or graduation. The beds were among the most comfortable we have ever experienced. The only drawback was the challenging communication with the property manager; I reached out for details before booking and received no response, which would have been helpful, and I also encountered no reply when I called later in regards to an early check in. If not for this issue, the experience would have been outstanding.

First the good parts. Very responsive and accommodating hosts. When we needed extra supplies, they were promptly provided. The house was spacious and in a nice, safe neighborhood. The bedrooms were comfortable, dining space ample and kitchen appliances functional.However, there were problems. The kitchen was not cleaned well, superficially, yes, but lots of grime and grease and dust on surfaces, stove and refrigerator. Did not use the overhead fan due to very big build up of dust on top. There was a broken window in the basement, making it open to the outside. There was leaking from pipes onto the basement floor and rug when the shower was in use. The decorations around the house were very dusty. While the stay was pleasant enough and accommodated our large family, it seems they hosts only do a superficial cleaning and either weren’t aware of the problems or chose to ignore them as they were out of sight in the basement (they weren’t new). If more attention was paid to details and more time and effort were put into thorough, detailed cleaning, it would rate another star.

When I first arrived the place was clean but the linens from the previous occupants where still in the laundry room. I was able to get ahold of Mrs. Pheobe. She was very appologetic and got confused on which day i was coming. There is a separate apartment upstairs that she rents. It has outside access. Those people wasn't coming till the next day. The house was clean except for some of the bed linens but there where extra linens in the closets for all the beds. Mrs Pheobe was very accommodating and offered to give me a refund for the cleaning fee, which was fine by me. The house had plenty of room for my party of 9. The house is older but had everything we needed. Was in a nice location. Within walking distance the board walks and shops. I recommend if you want to go to the beach to visit Hunting Island. Beautiful beaches and not crowded. You do have to pay to enter but its worth it. The kids.enjoyed playing on the pool table,ping pong table in the basement. They are old so if you are a pro dont get excited . They kept the kids busy and thats all that mattered to me.

Marine Graduation gem

We were thrilled to have found this wonderful home for our family's stay during my nephew's Marine Graduation. The spacious accommodations and clean, comfortable atmosphere made it perfect for our large group. Plus, being super close to the base was a huge bonus! Location to the base was excellent, but house needs some TLC, outside looked nothing like pictures , over grown in areas, porches need repair and paint, loved the room and lay out of inside but again inside needs a better cleaning, floors were dirty, under couches very dusty,window seals dirt need
