Pack your racket. Ibiza Padel Indoor and the Club de Campo tennis courts are 230 m down the lane, a three-minute walk, with 13 padel courts, six of them indoor, bookable online by visitors, so you can play in any weather.

Villa Kiku Ibiza sits in Sant Josep de sa Talaia, halfway between Ibiza Town and the airport, without being caught up in the noise of either. It sleeps up to eight, and it has something few villas on the island offer: a dedicated room for getting ready before a night out, built so the whole group can dress and do their make-up together instead of taking turns in the bathroom.

The villa has four bedrooms, all on the upper floor, sharing two bathrooms; a third bathroom is on the ground floor. The beds are two king beds, four single beds and two sofa beds. Downstairs is a bright living room open to the garden, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen for cooking as a group. Next to the living room, looking out over the garden, is the pre-party room: two make-up mirrors, a long table, a sofa, a mirror disco ball, laser lights, and a TV with PlayStation for a sing-along before heading out.

Outside, the villa runs from the terrace down to the pool. There's a newly built garden bar with a counter, high stools, lighting and power, ready for someone to keep the drinks going all evening; a barman or a slush-ice machine can be booked for the poolside. Three oversized Bali-style daybeds and sun loungers finish off the pool area, and there's table football, ping-pong and beer-pong for slow mornings and arrival days. The freshly redone barbecue area has a farmhouse table that seats fourteen, set among banana palms.

The villa is in Sa Carroca, between Ibiza Town and the airport: five minutes to Ibiza Town, seven to the airport, eight to Playa d'en Bossa and Ushuaïa. A car or taxi is needed to get around, and in July and August it's worth booking a taxi or a rental car ahead, since street taxis run slow.

Extras can be arranged through the host: a private chef, a poolside slush-ice machine, a barman for the evening, the fridge stocked before you arrive, a boat trip, club tickets for Hï, Ushuaïa, Pacha or Amnesia, and gin or local herb-liqueur tastings at the villa. The Balearic tourist tax, EUR 2.20 per person per night, is collected separately on arrival.

Villa Kiku suits families and groups of friends who want space to get ready together before a night out. It is for relaxed, considerate stays. It is not a party or events property.

Yoga at the villa. The lawn under the palms is level and away from the road, shaded by late morning, with room to lay out mats for the whole group. A yoga teacher, pilates instructor or massage therapist can be booked to come to the villa, bringing mats and props.
